Dem’s Chief of Staff Arrested for Soliciting Sex From a Minor

A longtime congressional chief of staff has been arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor, according to police in Gaithersburg, Md.

Bob Decheine, chief of staff to Rep. Steve Rothman, D-N.J., has been arrested (and fired) following his arrest last Friday. His arrest came as part of a “sting” by Gaithersburg police “involved placing ads on a ‘known website’ and then communicating via phone or text message between an undercover officer and a ‘John.’”  He faces a possible sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a $25,000 fine or both. The New Jersey’s The Record reports:

Decheine, 48, lives in the District of Columbia and had been Rothman’s top aide and confidante since May 2003, running both the Washington and North Jersey offices. He also was paid by Rothman’s re-election campaign account. A former aide to Wisconsin Sen. Russell Feingold, Decheine was a senior adviser to President Obama’s campaign organization in New Jersey.

After the news broke, Rothman released a statement severing ties with Decheine.

On Friday, November 19, 2010, at 3:30 pm, the House of Representatives Sergeant at Arms contacted Congressman Steve Rothman personally and informed him that the Gaithersburg Police Department had arrested Mr. Robert Decheine, who was then serving as his Chief of Staff, on a charge of sexual solicitation of a minor. Congressman Rothman immediately consulted appropriate House Counsel and terminated Mr. Decheine’s employment, effective November 19, 2010, due to the very serious nature of this charge. Congressman Rothman considers this alleged criminal act to be shocking, appalling and indefensible.

All muzies are terrorists. They all think its OK to molest a child. Even the moderate muzies like this idea. So this being the case in fact, If you are a muzie then I am your enemy. Was that to harsh?

My college journalism instructor told me it’s not a big deal when a Democrat violates some moral rule, because Democrats don’t claim to have any morals in the first place. He told me it’s a different case when a Republican violates some moral rule, because they claim to be moral. He explained that’s why, when a Republican violates a moral rule, it’s much more “newsworthy,” than when a Democrat does it. When he said all that I thought to myself, “What a biased idiot.” Some of the stupidest and most unethical, people in the world are lecturing in America’s college classrooms.

Agreed. It’s amazing the mental gymnastics college professors, and liberals of all stripes, will go through to justify immorality. They absolutely don‘t want a set morality because they know they’ll be found lacking.

This is the anti-christ party; anti-bible, pro-koran, pro-abortion, pro-immorality. Having people like this leading us is the root cause of the decline of our nation. Conversely, a return to Christian values starting with the election of moral leadership is the only hope we have for salvation.

Its always the kids isnt it. .. Oh poor guys had a rough childhood…always a victim and an enemy.
In working with folks over many years its simply amazing the amount of men and women I know who have been molested by an adult in youth. They seem to all share that (after becoming adults and lots of therapy) that they had frozen in time emotionally and socially as if they were the same age they were when the offense occurred. Another thing that has also stuck with me, was one gal who said…being touched in certain spots feels good no matter your age…and when a trusted adult exploits that mortal wrong… it is like taking a life, or stealing someones potential. Im encouraged by the many folks i have known who were indeed victims as children, but when they became adults they took responsibility to get help and support for the journey back, so they did not repeat what they were taught on others.

Make no mistake, strictly speaking at least from the Judeo–Christian perspective, pedophilia may be a heinous crime against the laws of both man and nature. Therefore i suppose it’s understandable how such an act, which could crush the spirit of a child for life, may offend the sensibilities of some right wing conservatives. However as I’ve said before, America is not a Christian nation.

Therefore it‘s important that we all work together toward achieving a more enlightened and tolerant society that respects the beliefs of all it’s citizens. In fact, with my recent appointment of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court, I’ve taken the first major step toward the eventual inclusion of Sharia law in the United States and I would remind everyone that the great Islamic prophet Mohamed liked the little ones too.

Ahaha, this “All democrats are pedophiles” train is delicious. Are any neurons still firing here or have you already “othered” all Democrats already? “One person does bad thing, so all persons who are like him in some arbitrary way do the same bad thing” is literally thinking on a kindergarten level, same as “ALL Muslims are terrorists” or “ALL black people are jobless and leeching off social security”. And yes, I have read both those comments here several times before.

Hummm, while I agree with the firing, where is the premise that you are innocent until proven gulity beyond a reasonable doubt? I am not going to bash the Dems for this because I remember the gov official from Idaho a Republican who got caught in a public mens bathroom. It happens in both parties and it show we do have sick people in washington running and help running the country. We need to change that for sure.

@Joseph Fawcett…I agree. Although there is good chance the man is guilty, I think the gun was jumped here. At least pretend to gather all the facts and information before reacting with harsh measures. So, without knowing all the facts of this case, it is clear that Rothman behaved stupidly. (end semi-quote).

Must have been trying to have sex with the children related to a democrat in congress. That would be the only reason I could see for the Democrats to fire him. Of course they will scream to the rooftops it is a ‘tea party setup/conspiricy/slander campaign” or such junk as well, on the one guys suggestion of never waste an opportunity.
