Dems Eke Out Senate Victory in Washington; Rossi Concedes

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., has secured her re-election to serve a fourth term in the United States Senate representing the state of Washington.
In a tight battle down to the wire, a strong liberal turnout in King County gives Murray the boost she needs, making a victory for Republican challenger Dino Rossi statistically improbable. Rossi, a former state legislator and a real-estate investor, phoned Sen. Murray Thursday afternoon to congratulate her on a hard-fought campaign and to concede the election. The Rossi camp later released a statement in lieu of an election night speech:
“I ran for the Senate because I believe we need a basic course correction from where Washington, D.C., has been taking us and to make sure this country is as free, as strong and as prosperous in the future as it has been in the past to preserve the best of America for future generations,” Rossi said in the statement.
“That was a message that found a very receptive audience all across this state, though not quite receptive enough,” he said.
Rossi concluded by saying he hoped both political parties would work together in Washington, D.C. over the next few years to solve the country’s problems, namely the stalled economy and growing federal debt.

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 7:18pmI am happy there were so many Republican victories, but this loss was in the one race that mattered the most to me. Dino ran a good campaign, stayed positive, and fell victim to Murray’s lies. I love living in Western Washington State, but I am so sick of the liberals here. I find myself questioning my sanity on a regular basis just from dealing with people who believe our President’s agenda is the right thing to do, that polar bears are dying because of global warming (while at the same time they drive large SUVs), and that socialism is the proper way to run a government. Our schools are infected with this way of thinking.
Report Post »Thanks once again for the great effort Mr. Rossi. Pity there has to be so much fraud in our elections. Even more the pity that no one ever fixes the problem even after cases where trays of Democratic votes are mysteriously found in the recount, as in one of the last times he tried for Governor.

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 2:21pmWell, at least they have ONE thing to celebrate about, I guess? Not such a good thing for them, if you ask me. BUT what do I know.. NANCY wants to remain House Dem Leader? YES PLEASE, then they can ALL go down in flames in 2012 when she throws more of them under her bus! She knows her peeps won’t vote her out, so what does SHE CARE? This just keeps getting better! :)

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 1:42amRossi is a good man and would have made an excellent Senator. He ran for Governor and had the election stolen from him by Christine Gregoire who had more votes than residents in her district. Rossi did not contest it even though we all knew there was massive voter fraud in King County. Now he has lost again to the dingbat in tennis shoes. I fully expect that fraud was involved here too. I don’t know what it will take for us to elect a President who will see that our elections are fair and free from corruption. Eric Holder won’t even let the States delete all the dead people and felons from the Motor Voter Scam. Those names come in handy for absentee ballots every 2 or 4 years! This is pathetic and should not be allowed to continue.

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 12:42amThe Constitution of the United States
…
Article V
The Congress, … or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourth thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; ….
I think the state legislatures are the best shot right now due to the unfunded mandates crammed down their throats (and loss of representation in Congress with the 17th amendment). Congress (the Senate) could balk and we might need a tar-and-feathers convention first to get their blessing.

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 12:34amI just feel like that the solutions to all our problems in this country are going to end up being Progressive solutions. They are taking over and the guts of the American people to change things is just not there to make the changes that are needed. I think that most of the republicans that are headed to DC are just going to bend over and take it. It is going to be lets compromise and compromise some more until the progressives get their way. May God help us! The bible states in proverbs that God sets the rulers into place as to his purposes and will. We deserve to be in bondage for we have kicked God out of our public lives and institutions. I for one will continue to live for the Lord and no matter what bondage I come under the progressives I will still stand up for God, life, liberty, and freedom. I don’t care if it costs me all of those except God. He is the only person whom I can’t lose nor can they take Him away from me. I will stand up in the public and live according to His word, Spirit, and principles. I will not forget who I am in Christ even unto death. Lord please save this country and turn the hearts of it’s people to You, even if it means bondage for a time under the progressives.

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 12:30amAccording to Article V, Congress must call for an amendment-proposing convention, “on the application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States”, and therefore 34 state legislatures would have to submit applications. Once an Article V convention has proposed amendments, then each of those amendments would have to be ratified by three-fourths of the states (i.e. 38 states) in order to become part of the Constitution. http://maboulette.wordpress.com

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 12:13amI wonder how many wrote in Didier. I initially voted for Didier in the primary, but he showed his lack of class when he insisted that Rossi capitulate to HIS agenda. I don‘t like to cook in someone else’s kitchen, and I’m sure Rossi, although his agenda was slightly different from Didier’s had his own machinery in place. People just don‘t understand that if they vote for someone who doesn’t have the backing of most, it is a vote FOR the opposition. Didier didn’t help by not backing Rossi when he (Didier) lost the primary. Die hard Didier fans may have been the ones that put Murray over the top.
