‘Destructive’ Teen Mob Shuts Down Large Milwaukee Mall

A popular Milwaukee-area mall had to be shut down early on Sunday after groups of unruly teenagers ransacked a store and people reported gunfire outside.
The incident, which one local news station dubbed a “melee,” occurred at Mayfair Mall in the Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa.
“What occurred this afternoon appears to be a group of youth intent on disrupting the shopping experience at Mayfair. The safety and security of our visitors are always our top priority. This behavior is isolated and we will not condone it,” Mayfair Senior General Manager Steve Smith said in an e-mail statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“To assist police earlier in identifying and apprehending suspects, we made the decision to close the mall shortly before our regular closing time,” Smith wrote. “We anticipate there will be consequences as a result of what happened today.”
WTMJ news interviewed one of the teen’s who said they were “just trying to have fun”:
The Sentinel reports the incident may have started after a shopper was accused of shoplifting:
Shafi said a Boston Store clerk told her that the incident occurred after a girl was accused of retail theft and the fracas spilled over into Boston Store.
“Her friends followed her and the security guard into the store, screaming, barking, yelling, and knocking over racks and displays. We were invited to stay and continue shopping,” Shafi said in an e-mail. “But we decided to leave through the exit where police guards surrounded the building. The salespeople who stuck around were immensely professional and comforting as well.”
Laura Hughes was in the Barnes & Noble bookshop when she heard screaming and the sound of a large group of people running. She walked out the second floor of the bookseller and “saw large sums of teenagers running towards Boston Store and going down the escalators to the first level. Mall security had been chasing some of the kids, followed by police officers, who were literally herding the kids downstairs.”
People eating in the food court noticed lights dimming and going out before seeing security officers walking around.
Another shopper said she saw a group of young people flow out of the food court area on the mall’s second floor and saw a security officer blow his whistle but no one reacted because the noise from the kids was much louder than the whistle. She said the kids were mostly young girls.

To those who say “race has nothing to do with it”…there may be some truth in that skin color or ethnicity does not contribute to behavioral tendencies, but culture certainly does. A child from a culture that has been steeped in the progressive idea that they are a victim of a majority racial group and are entitled to special privilege because of it, are much more likely to behave in this manner. I must have missed the mention of race, I read the article over again and still didn’t see it, but I’m a 72 year old guy and I may have overlooked it. But hey, it isn’t a race thing this time. If the kids were black or white isn’t the most important thing. An eye witness said the kids were mostly girls. What’s happening to us here in America ? Girls ransacking a Mall isn’t what I call normal behavior or accepted no matter what race a person may be or their ethnicity. Most parents, black or white ,would not condone such behavior and severe discipline would most certainly be forth coming. It’s amazing that the liberal media will not cover this important fact. They also do not cover the violence that occurs as a result if illegal immigrants and they continue to protect the muslims from profiling.
It’s time that we stop pretending. This mall should permanently ban all black kids from coming in without their parents. Not all kids, just the black kids.
We should also start profiling everyone. All states should pass the same law as Arizona passed and enforce it.
All muslims should be stripped search at the airports. We need to end all visas including student visas to those from muslim countries. All muslims who overstay their current visas should be deported. Ban building of all new mosques. Deport every radical muslim cleric that shoots off his mouth. Monitor all exisiting mosques electronically and close the radical ones.

Posted on January 3, 2011 at 11:43amThis is an example of how a mob mentality begins, someone thinks something is ‘fun’ and starts the process going. Others join in or get injured in trying to get out of the way; at least in this case there were no injuries that I could find of.
I am just glad the incident did not turn into a full scale riot or fighting, and then there would have been blood on the floors more than just the damaged goods and expenses. I hope these kids and their parents get the law after them, civil and criminal where appropriate.

That is exactly what you will get if they unionize all police under one union. The union can call a nationwide walk out or slow down like in NYC. Bad kids are usually the result of bad or no parenting. Teenage girls ransacking a Mall is somehting to be concerned about. Those girls have missed something in their upbringing and evidently have a culture problem because of the lack of teaching in the home. If parents are too busy to teach their kids to have respect for others and themselves, then they’re too busy ! Blame the kids, yes, but also blame the parents.

Now they say they wont let any minors shop without a adult. Im not sure why those kids did that. It wasnt because of shoplifting or something like that. They were probably just lookingfor something to do for attetion. I wish they didnt do that because now we all have to pay for it

Maybe Michael Steele is right, we are too cowardly to talk about race in this country!
