Did Environmental Group Hijack 9/11 Imagery for Anti-Oil Ad Campaign?

Accuracy in Media thinks so.
The organization, which describes itself as a “conservative watchdog group for fairness, balance and accuracy in news reporting,” distributed a report today about an inflammatory ad campaign from Oceana, an environmental conservation group. According to Accuracy in Media (AIM), Oceana’s ad campaign deliberately evokes 9/11 imagery to promote its anti-offshore drilling message.
Recall that in the aftermath of the BP oil spill, President Barack Obama said that the ecological disaster “echoes 9/11″ because, according to Politico, it would “change the nation’s psyche for years to come.”

D.C. Metro commuters were subjected to a new ad campaign this week that draws not-so-conspicuous similarities between the dangers of terrorism and offshore drilling. Oceana, a leading environmental conservation and advocacy group, seems all too comfortable comparing the damages from September 11 to an impossible oil spill.
The spill depicted in the ad is off the shore of New York City.

These people will go to any lenghth to lie , cheat, and steel on any election to get there selfish way. The ill informed public falls for this hook line and sinker, because they are just to simple minded and easy to manipulate.

Turning the other cheek right now, is only getting our azzes kicked. We are losing everyday, because we won’t! Why? Somehow we need to realize that preservation of self and belief needs to be to us, as it is to them. They have a religion and a belief, that they will defend, why won’t you, or me?

Posted on April 15, 2011 at 1:52amIt’s called advertising people. In the same way this article uses the term “hijacked” to invoke mental assumptions of “evil” so too does this advertisement relate the devastation of 9/11 to the dangers of off shore drilling.
Anyone with half a sense for design would be applauding this use of imagery.

In fact, I think we should amend the Constitution to make such treason a capital offense punishable by immediate death. i can guarantee it will only be liberals who suffer, am i right?
