Did Federal Agents Really Raid a Mormon Food Storage Facility?

We are in an especially tense time for civil liberties as the NDAA ‘indefinite detention’ bill makes its way through Congress, so when a story went viral over the weekend of Feds raiding a Latter Day Saints food storage facility in Tennessee and demanding customer lists, alarm bells went off and some folks got riled up.Did Federal Agents Raid a Mormon Food Storage Facility?

But now it looks like this raid on LDS food storage never occurred.

The news desk at the Blaze was skeptical of the raid story from the outset. It was single-sourced to the organization called “Oath Keepers,”  who are “active servicemen devoted to upholding their oath of guarding the republic and protecting individual liberty.”

Oath Keepers did not initially name any sources and there was no corroboration from local news outlets of their post on the alleged food raid.

The Blaze received dozens of tips and requests, however, for more information on this story. We had direct contact with at least one prominent LDS church official, and a number of sources who indicated that they had heard nothing about this story through their channels.

As of late Monday, Oath Keepers had pulled the food storage raid story from their website, and gave an explanation that stated:

“We have pulled this story about the Mormon cannery being visited by federal agents because the source of the information at the cannery is now denying that he ever told us that event occurred.”

So the Feds didn’t kick down doors and confiscate lists of private citizens who want to prepare themselves with stored food in the event of an emergency such as a power outage or flood. This is good news, to be sure.

But the full context to the story does not seem to end there. It turns out authorities have been poking around and asking Tennesseans about their emergency preparations, even going door-to-door with questionnaires.

Local Nashville news broadcasters at WTVF-TV reported on house-by-house Metro Public Health department efforts to check on citizens’ emergency preparedness, including the off-putting line that ”The county still wants to know exactly what you are doing to start thinking ahead:”

In addition, a terrorism watch precursor pamphlet from the “Bureau of Justice Assistance” has been circulating the internet that targets completely legal, commonplace behaviors for many conservatives who want to be ready for an emergency. The bulletin lists sweeping generalizations about who might be a terrorist, and many of the indicators revolve around food storage and emergency preparedness.

The Blaze called one of the phone numbers listed on the flyer, and it is in fact a direct line to a joint terrorism analysis fusion center in Colorado. When asked for an official comment on the distribution of the flyer, a fusion center officer declined to comment and stated that any request would have to be made in writing.

Did Federal Agents Raid a Mormon Food Storage Facility?

The list of concerning activities includes this list below, which notably suggests possessions of waterproof match and meals ready-to-eat (MREs) could be cause for concern:

Did Federal Agents Raid a Mormon Food Storage Facility?

Store owners are encouraged to call authorities if any of these activities occur and raise their suspicions.

While Congress decides whether under the NDAA U.S. Citizens can be sent to military prison without the benefit of a trial based only on suspicion, further government attempts to compile lists of  private emergency preparations and campaigns that single out self-sufficient citizens under the guise of counter-terrorism guidelines could heighten distrust of federal authorities.

But at least they haven’t raided any LDS food storage facilities. Not yet.

retractions don‘t mean it didn’t happen, it only means the story is now denied after it was reported and now retracted maybe under threat or duress ! ! ! It was never retracted that they did in fact raid a store selling organic food, another for selling real milk, a company picnic for serving real milk and food…. so what then this one retraction makes booboo go away? don’t fall for the Sy-op PROPAGANDA.

What ever you have done to “prepare”…you need to keep to yourself…eg food…
Gold coins etc , you could be asked to turn in for the “good” of the nation
None of us know for sure what is in store for our nation….just keep on preparing and don’t make a big deal of it

The funny thing about what the Feds are doing and will be doing is that they are going to shutdown the very people who have made the government what it currently is, and then the government will also fall apart because they will chop down their own legs, and collapse into the pool.

This is an indication that the federal government is getting more firnly under the control of radical leftist dregs whose aim is totalitarianism and a subjugation of US citizens to its every whim, because they believe they should be able to tell us what to think and what to do.

There’s a very good chance Obama will get back in and the transformation into an Orwellian society will be completed.

There are not enough “aware” people in this country and far too many who will support this monster for re-election,. because they are so brainwashed and mentally conditioned they believe not to do so would be a racist act……..a condition that has been programmed into their weak, mini-minds.

“This incident was confirmed, in person, by Oath Keepers Tennessee Chapter President, Rand Cardwell. Here is Rand’s report:
“A fellow veteran contacted me concerning a new and disturbing development. He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food. The manager informed the agents that the facility kept no such records and that all transactions were conducted on a cash-and-carry basis. The agents pressed for any record of personal checks, credit card transactions, etc., but the manager could provide no such record. The agents appeared to become very agitated and after several minutes of questioning finally left with no information. I contacted the manager and personally confirmed this information.”

I see NO WHERE in there where it says they ‘RAIDED” the place, kicked down doors, confiscated supplies or anything ELSE this story said they said happened. If they asked about a RAID then, heck! And can you imagine the calls to the place? Maybe the manager decided it just wasn’t worth all the harassment. I can hear it now.. “NO, WE WERE NOT RAIDED PLEASE STOP CALLING!”

Actually, I think the FEDs were looking for arsenals. Think about it. What is the most valuable thing you could have besides food and water during a crisis? GUNS. They protect you and your family. And, maybe someone told them that the guns were there somewhere behind the canned foods. I dunno, but it is a plausible possibility.

ALL my guns are hidden. You could burn my house down and you won’t find my 250 guns and 4000 boxes of ammo. They are hidden well. IT WILL BE THE GUNS AND AMMO THE FEDS WANT, not your food. They already control the food supply. They don’t control the guns and ammo YET. They are trying, though.

If you want something to barter during hard times, stock up on guns and ammo and gun powder supplies. THEY WILL BE THE MOST VALUABLE.

No, it is not an attack on a Beck sponsor. There are many different food storage companies, however the one referenced in this article is not a company. The food storage facility that Oath Keepers spoke of is an LDS Church owned Family Home Storage Center. This is a service provided by the church that supplies a limited range of staples (sugar, flour, wheat, beans, etc…) at cost as well as the facilities, equipment, and supplies needed to prepare these staples for long-term storage. Individuals prepare, and pay for what they need themselves. They also clean up and maintain the facility as well. For more information, please see: http://www.providentliving.org

They will most likely vote for the Libertarian candidate instead. Many Republicans have said that they will vote for anyone who is not Obama and then there are the Republicans who will vote for anyone who claims to be a Republican. All this really means is that the FEDS threatened them not to reveal that they’ve been raided, and so they withdrew their claim.

The FEDS are in the habit of sending threatening letters and warning those who’ve been raided not to speak out about the raid or face further intimidation, such as the “demand inquiry” letter for food storage and the “demand” letter sent to gun shops ASKING…in a threatening fashion… them to reveal purchasers who buy more than one rifle and more than a certain amount of ammo. This is wholly illegal and official intimidation, they have no authority to inquire about food storage or firearms/ammo purchases outside of the current legal constraints. They already get data of rifle purchases when the Federal Background check is run.

Of course they’re not going to give you any info when you call them. It’s a Threat Fusion Center run by FEMA who plans on rounding you up and hauling you off to an indefinite detention concentration camp.

The Government can find out what you have stocked by examining food market computerized cash register receipts. The stores have detailed copies of what you buy because when you return something they do not have to look at you receipt or even have your credit card. If stock piling food, buy it with cash. Buy you CB and shortwave radios with cash too. Get cheapo cell phones for cash and store them for when you may need one.

For years I’ve been telling everyone: Use Cash – Checks, Credit cards & Debit cards leave a trail.
Keep only the amount you need to pay for things like house payment, utilities, insurance etc in your bank account. If it makes you feel more secure, add to that an emergency amount. Withdraw everything else in cash each payday. If you must purchase online, try to find a company that will accept a money order. Your general info will still be in their records but your financial info won’t be. Better yet, try to purchase used items. Lots of “gear”, tools, building materials etc can be found at garage sales, thrift stores & local “for sale” ads. As an added benefit, buying used usually saves you money. Again, pay cash.
It’s much easier for purchases of “extra stuff” to disappear if you have a history of paying cash for everything. They don’t stand out.
When people ask me why I pay cash for everything, I tell them it keeps me from overspending.

So even that one story appears to have been false there is interest in Tennessee and other areas by the Feds’ and such asking who and what is preparing? Sounds like the lists are being prepared for the ‘event’ in which people can be arrested for ‘food hoarding’ and ‘other criminal terrorist activities’ that are open ended.

Another reason the story could have been pulled – Patriot act provision requiring a gag order – thats patriotic isn’t it.

“A far more likely explanation may be found in the Patriot Act itself, which features a sneak-and-peek with a gag order provision that allows federal agents to conduct searches of any facility and then gag the witnesses from speaking about it for at least one year, after which they may challenge the gag order. The existence of this sneak-and-peek gag order is widely acknowledged and easily verified through common web searches. Even NPR reported on it several years ago:

It seems to me that preparedness is a pretty common thing among blazers, as well as talking about it here on these threads. Who else are you talking to? Be very carefull about talking to others in relation to what you are doing. I only tell people that have earned my trust,(a very hard thing to do). there are 4 families here that will be in alliance when the fur hits the fan, and we only talk among ourselves, and are sworn not to allow others into our group. Yes, we will be of help to others, but we must care for ourselves first. Please be very carefull in your conversations, as something said could easily be remembered later on.

WTF? This is no longer the USA I know and love. On one hand going underground may lengthen YOUR life, but shorten it for the republic. We have adopted the “country club” mentality and living like that does not endorse freedom, it endorses selfish ambition. I want to live and not run while looking behind me. If our forefather’s had this mentality we would have never tasted freedom in the first place. I will join with anyone that wants to preserve one of God’s gift… FREEDOM!

People need to learn to keep their mouths shut. We live in a society that has adopted the “know all – tell all” mentality as normal behavior. Diarrhea of the Mouth, as my grandma always called it, runs rampant. Is it really important for everyone in the world to know how many pairs of shoes some movie star owns or how many cats your neighbor’s cousin’s grandma keeps or how many bags of rice you buy?

If you have stored food, guns, gold, extra underwear…hell, even those extra strings of Christmas lights….keep it to yourself. Take a lesson from the Resistance groups from WWII…act normally, avoid calling attention to yourself, blend in with the general population and operate on a “need to know” basis.

“Not yet” is the right way to end the story. Look what they did to Gibson Guitars for actually making a product that used imported wood?
Food storage makes you suspect, so does a “Don’t Tread on Me” bumper sticker or flag in your yard. Carrying a pocket Constitution may be worse than carrying a pocket pistol? The new world of “Thought Crimes” will be one in which the military can hold you indefinitely without due process or trial.
Us Ron Paul supporters get to move to the top of the list, just under Muslim Clerics, but above the New Black Panthers members. The police state is here in America, you now live in a “battlefield” according to Lindsey Graham, Allen West and others in Congress. “1984” isn’t just a book, it’s a playbook for the NWO.
