Did Herman Cain Give the ‘Don’t Miss’ Speech at CPAC?

Ed Morrisey thinks so:
Herman Cain, so far the only declared candidate for the GOP presidential nomination, stole the show yesterday with his speech in the late afternoon. People left the ballroom saying that he moved them to tears. Whether one thinks that Cain has a chance of making inroads for the nomination or not, there is no doubt at all of Cain’s value to the conservative movement.

Posted on February 12, 2011 at 4:08pmFinally someone who tells it like it is, Mr. Cain is exactly what this country needs. A businessman who understands what it takes for us to be competitive, profitable, and informed. Like he says regulations are killing jobs, regulations are aimed at benifiting those who the administration favors and distroying those who they disagree with. He’s a greaty American success story. Do your rersearch he’s definately someone worth your time to listen to, he’s been saying this stuff for a long time, he no body’s fool like Obama, infact he’s the anti Obama.

Posted on February 12, 2011 at 4:24pmHe is the only one that doesn’t just give lip service to transforming the tax code and a staunch supporter of the fair tax. If we got the fair tax enacted hardly anything else would have to be accomplished to bring our economy roaring back and jobs for all that want one. The budget problems in Washington would be fixed immediately. The politicians are against it because it takes power from them to control we the people. It will take a President like Cain to motivate and influence change in Washington. Go Mr. Cain!!!

Posted on February 13, 2011 at 9:59pmYes, a black man who (much like Clarence Thomas) grew up in the deep south and in segregation, yet doesn’t have a racial chip on his shoulder. Obama, who grew up in the most ethnically diverse and tolerant state (HI) has an artificial black rage trying to relate with his race. It’s incredible when you read the The Obama Nation by Jerome Corsi and see what a phony he really is.

Posted on February 13, 2011 at 12:48amSinsitaMace – you need to understand this:
Herman Cain was on an ADVISORY board to the Fed in KC. This ADVISORY board is made up of business leaders, and their sole purpose is to tell the people that DO run the Federal Reserve what’s happening “on the ground” from a business/consumer perspective.
HE DIDN’T RUN THE BANK!
He also is the biggest FairTax guy out there (by a longshot), so he’ll lose the IRS in a heartbeat if America gives him the chance.
I appreciate your passion, but please reconsider your position in light of this “new” information..

Posted on February 13, 2011 at 2:56pmI didn’t say he ran the bank. I said he was the chairman. He was a chairman on the board. Why is he defending the Federal Reserve?
Report Post »takebackourcountry
Posted on February 14, 2011 at 9:10pmThere is a concentrated group online trying to discredit Herman on the FED. The truth is – Herman has said that he does believe there is a problem with the Fed, problems that were not there when he was on the board. He said that if he were presidentt he would tell Ron Paul to go for it if he wanted to audit the Fed, which in Paul’s position he could do that. He just said he wasn’t going to lead that charge. Herman has outlined what would be his top priorities as President and he would focus on those. The fact is, Herman Cain will not be a one-issue candidate like some people. One issue candidates don’t usually get too far (in case folks haven’t noticed) Here is Herman’s own statement outlining what I wrote – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2Mqie_h9uU
I’ve been following Herman for years, and I took a good long look at all the potential candidates so far and he is my #1 choice for many reasons – I like that he has held a real job, real executive experience, turning around failing companies for years. He has fought for constitutional principles, going toe to toe with liberals every day on his radio show. He wants to cut goverment vertically and horizontally. He communciates well, thinks quick on his feet. He has made his life making the customers happy. A BIG departure from career politicians who spend their lives playing payback games.

The best way to ensure free and fair elections is to volunteer to be a poll watcher in your area.
Tired of seeing your one vote cancelled out by ACORN, community organizers, and Democrat Party corruption? Contact your local Tea Party and ask where you can get trained to be a Poll Watcher on election day 2012.
If there is a smaller local election in 2011 – do it then for the training experience, and then become a poll watcher trainer! – ASK ALL your friends to get involved – you are desperately needed!
We need everyone reading this to be poll watchers because there can be no doubt after the last few elections that the left is getting sickeningly good at stealing elections! They must be stopped and it is not too early to begin doing something about it. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE IN 2012 !!! – Get involved NOW.

You don’t understand?
Mainstream Media really can’t stand Ron Paul, always ice Ron paul, so why wouldn’t they freeze out Herman Cain after he flip-flopped on auditing the FED and now support Ron Paul on auditing the Fed?
Cain, former Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve?

Posted on February 12, 2011 at 8:05pmAlthough Mr. Cain would make an excellent president, he has one flaw the left will exploit relentlessly. He doesn’t use teleprompters! How can you trust a man who looks at you when he is spreaking? He is obviously speaking off the top of his head and making it all up as he goes.
Now that I am through being a smart–s, I am going to start doing whatever I can to see this man nominated and elected in 2012. I only hopes he picks a good VP candidate. The conservatives need someone who can unite them into an unstoppable voting bloc. I think Mr. Cain is the man we need!

Posted on February 12, 2011 at 8:41pmYet Ron Paul won the CPAC Presidential Straw Pole….again. That should be a real reality-check for how viable our supposedly-resurgent New Conservative movement really is. Buckle up, Beck-Bots. The real hard times will NOT be civil unrest in American (much to Beck‘s Mercury Radio Arts’ chagrin – because the longer it doesn’t happen, the less marketable His product becomes) but mundane continuation of the every-leftward-moving status quo. Prepare to not only run a RINO presidential candidate in 2012, but for Obama to win again and for the Dems to reclaim many seats in both houses of Congress. Way more than half of all American are MORONS (including, obviously, many on our side). Game over.

If you’re serious about changing the country for the better, then there’s only one question you need to ask of any candidate.
“Do you support the abolition of the Federal Reserve Bank and IRS?
The answer to that question answers every other question you have.
Cain’s answer is no.
I don’t know about the fed, but did you even watch his speach? he is ALL FOR The Fair Tax, which would abolish the IRS.

The left will always play the race card it is what they are best at. I really like this Herman Cain he is awesome and I would vote for and support him wholeheartedly if he won the Republican nomination. I feel we have a lot of good potential candidates of course Mitt Romney is my personal favorite but as long as they have very strong conservative values and strong leadership skills I am there with them. Absolutely no RINO’s can be tolerated for nomination.
Romney is the biggest RINO in the field. Try again.

If you listen to the song playing during his intro, it’s about being free. I think he is implying that there are no shackles on him. He is not on the Democrat plantation.

Posted on February 13, 2011 at 10:39amHerman Cain is, in my estimation, the best candidate (next to John Bolton) for president.
And as we have learned all too well from this past election cycle the term “Racist” is reserved for use by the socialist left. So we can expect to be called that no matter who becomes the nominee. It’s a standard tactic.
IMHBLO the real problem is that we have come to believe the rhetoric and divisiveness of what I call demographic politics, instead of adhering to American politics. WE are Americans before we are anything else. If that is not the case, you cease to be ‘American’.
WE need to think, act and behave like Americans. Especially where elections are concerned.
obama said a lot of touchy feely good things during his campaign, but his background and history clearly told a different story. So, what do you believe? rhetoric or behavior? the answer is obviously; behavior. Actions speak volumes. Words are only that.

Posted on February 13, 2011 at 10:56amEVERYBODY deserves to go the the primaries and let the R’s vote their candidate. My take, the R‘s won’t choose him, and if they did, Obama is a shoe-in. He marginalizes himself when he calls any part of the electorate “stupid,” then proceeds to define EXACTLY what he himself does (S.I.N.), AND defines a whole group of people by what HE SAYS (does he have this taped to prove it? I learned in theblaze that it’s not true otherwise) an awful thing a caller said. aka, toast politically.

We have to get rid of the income tax AND the IRS/ Federal Reserve first, then we can institute a fair tax.
He‘s on tape saying the Federal Reserve doesn’t need to be audited because of all its internal safeguards, and saying it shouldn’t be abolished.

Posted on February 14, 2011 at 9:13am@SinistaMace – What I don‘t understand about you is that you ignored the speech and didn’t seem to grasp that his dealings with the Fed in the past are not his current views. So what you are saying is that Cain needed to arrive at his current view and belief without “breaking any eggs” to get there. This make you a hypocrite and irrelevant as trying to pick an infallible candidate for President is impossible and doesn’t matter anyway. So if Jesus got mad and stubbed his toe, you would deny him the name as the Son of God? My point is I don’t care what views someone used to have in the past as long as they learned from them and are in cahoots with the TRUE conservative movement. You shifted the subject and dug for a miniscule object of impropriety and failed along the way. Case in point, if Reagan would have been crucified for being a liberal Democrat in his earlier years, then we would have never seen what a true conservative leader was. Stay on topic and learn how to debate the actual current events and not someone’s prior view to which is no longer valid.

I didn’t ignore the speech, I watched and listened intently. Its awfully convenient for Herman Cain to all of a sudden switch positions on the Federal Reserve now that he’s considering running and Ron Paul has gained so much traction on the issue. Disingenuous.
“So what you are saying is that Cain needed to arrive at his current view and belief without “breaking any eggs” to get there. This make you a hypocrite and irrelevant as trying to pick an infallible candidate for President is impossible and doesn’t matter anyway.”
Don’t put words in my mouth. Herman Cain is the hypocrit and flip-flopper. The fact that he worked for the Federal Reserve and his stances on the institution prior to his convenience makes him an irrelevant candidate in my personal opinion, which you will not sway.
I said what I said, what you infer from what I said is your personal prerogative, and I don’t care what you think of me. Attacking me personally isn’t going to convince anyone of whow they feel about Herman Cain.
Don’t bring Jesus into this.
“My point is I don’t care what views someone used to have in the past as long as they learned from them and are in cahoots with the TRUE conservative movement.”
Ok. You don’t care. Good for you. Next?
“You shifted the subject and dug for a miniscule object of impropriety and failed along the way. I didn’t shift anything. This is my point of focus on Herman Cain, and you cannot assuage it.
Ronaldus Magnus was a closet homosexual who attended Bohemian Grove, no true conservative triples the debt from 711 billion to 2.1 trillion like he did.
As far as staying on topic, boyoh boy, you have really taken me off topic on a rollercoaster tangent with all this garbage you just posted, personally attacking me in an attempt to discredit my opinion, which is ALWAYS VALID.

Posted on February 15, 2011 at 9:03am@SinistaMace – Why don’t you find everything wrong with every candidate and not vote at all as you cannot pry yourself from your ideals of perfection. Do you really think that Cain could possibly get away with spending NOW of all times? Really? How ignorant to not know the times are not going to allow this type of cloak and dagger approach to government control anymore. Cain may have made mistakes as ALL politicians do, but holding him to his word is vastly better than him not taking a position against it. If he said nothing to the contrary, then I understand your point. I STILL believe that we have a Republic and will not be a dedicated naysayer for the sake of popularity. Conservatives have the ONLY relevant voice left and collectively Republicans, Libertarians and Independants need to combine voices instead of seek power. I accept the responsibility as a voter that my choice is fallible in some areas but my belief is asserted as an American. I am willing to stand for something instead of comfortably criticize everything. Try it you might like it!
