Did Karl Rove Try to Help Mike Castle Win?

Political strategist Karl Rove appeared Tuesday evening on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” to discuss primary election returns with host Sean Hannity. In light of tea party favorite Christine O‘Donnell’s victory over GOP establishment favorite Mike Castle, Rove seemed on edge about O‘Donnell’s chances in the general election. During the segment, an unnerved Rove repeatedly criticized O‘Donnell’s “character” and “rectitude” and claimed she had left many questions unanswered in her campaign to date.
Events unfolding tonight at O‘Donnell’s victory headquarters may shed light on Rove’s dampened demeanor. Following O‘Donnell’s victory speech this evening, a local 9/12 Patriot took to the microphone with a special message for Rove, whom he claimed had tried to recruit tea party support for the “more electable” Castle as early as last December. Posted on September 15, 2010 at 6:29amIt‘s quite funny that Democrats don’t ever fight over someone being too liberal and backing a candidate that’s more conservative, just so that they’ll win… while they have us fighting and like Rove would have it, give them another Democrat choice to vote for. No more voting for the lesser of two evils, vote for the person that actually represents your values.

Was it just because he looks like Chandler (Friends) and sounds like Tom Hanks – if they had mated! Actually, from what I have heard about inbreeding – Joe might be some kind of love child?????? Anyway – still like Chandler and Hanks in the movies and would never listen to either of them on politics again…..

Evidently Rove is a progressive, big government kind of guy, why else would he have gotten so upset over Castle’s loss. Castle has proven, with his voting record, that he is for BIG government – say goodbye to the good-old-boy status quo.

@Zeitgeistbuster: It isn‘t Glenn’s message that i don’t like. I enjoyed watching his rally on c-span. The event was totally apolitical. I think it was admirable, if a bit campy and over the top. What I don’t like about Beck/Rush/Olbermann/O’Reilly et. al, is how they use emotionally charged issues such as 9/11, gay rights, the whole islam/christianity thing, etc. to stir up antagonism and discord among the people. All it does is keep us from looking at what is really going on in this country and doing something about that. For example, the NYC mosque thing. Instead of acting like logical human beings when talking about a church that was going to be built in the vicinity of ground zero, the talking heads turn it into something it isnt, resulting in some of the most disgusting sentiment (Quran burnings, etc) that I have ever seen in my life. They would rather whip the people up into a frenzy of fear and loathing instead of keeping them informed with fact and rational opinon because the more informed we are the more of a threat we are to their interests as a movement. It’s totally phony and the tea party movement is strong enough to stand on its own without people like Palin/Beck trying to co-opt it and turn it into their own tool to be used for their own ends.

What can I say? We live in interesting times. What we need is exactly what is happening – honest dialogue. The GZ Mosque was a story before any talk shows commented on it. Glenn in particular kept his powder dry at first while he gathered facts.
What I am coming to see in the GZ Mosque, as well as the Disney employee who demanded to wear a burqua during Rhamadan, as well as other forced Issues over Islam during the last couple of years is that forces in the Muslim world know that we are a live and let live society. That we forgive and then forget and heal and move on.
I see them pushing at us, and not allowing that process to come to it’s natural conclusion. They are poking sticks in our eyes to provoke a reaction. If we go too far, then they succeed in having us cross some pre-determined “trip wires” that give them justification for more violent “self-defense”.
Imam Rauf is either being used, or he is a willing participant in this poking. He softly coos for Peace. But he never defines what Peace with Islam is defined as for him. He allows us in our conceit to assume that it means the same to him as it does to us. And thus we see otherwise brilliant people at the State Department fall into a ready made trap of self-deception. “He has said that he is working to build bridges of understanding in the community.” Too easy for them to fall for it, because that is essentially their own job description, being echoed back to them.
As Diplomats they want their efforts to be taken as sincere, and so they extend the same regard to one who uses their own language and knows what they want to hear.
The problem is that we undermine the real moderates in this game and empower the silver tounged usurpers who come seeking their own advantage by leveraging our system for ends other than liberty.
The Moderate Muslims face the same dilema that moderate germans faced under the rise of Hitler. Speak out against the violent jihadists, and warn of the “wolves in sheeps clothing” jihadists and face the wrath of the violent, and the political correctness that defends the stealth jihadists, or remain silent and preserve some tranquility for yourself and your family.
We make it hard for the moderates to “out” the stealth jihadists when we embrace those they try to warn us are working against us because our culture has been undermined with self doubt and political correctness.

Posted on September 15, 2010 at 4:04amYou would think that every time they have a tough vote and Olympia Snowe votes with the Dem’s that they would see the error of backing candidates that are RINOS. But then you would think that Carl Rove would have been smart enough not to go on national TV and speak his mind tonight like he did, without any thought of what the consequences of his actions might be. If ever there was a time when the RNC needs to listen to the people its now, if we work together we can win. They totally ignored the wishes of the VOTERS in Delaware when they came out and said they would not support O’Donnell–it doesn’t matter what they wanted–the voters in Delaware made the call. They had better get SMARTER than this, or they are going to lose votes in other states based on what they did here. After all, if the voters think both parties are just going to ignore their opinions and/or votes what difference does it make which party is in power. Yeah I’ll say it, There is not a single republican in office right now who gives a crap about the tea party. Glenn Beck and his kind have totally co-opted our movement and it makes me sick. Time to reconsider Bashing Glenn’s message. Even Mark Levin took one of his callers to task for bashing 8/28 as a waste of time. Maybe it is starting to sink in with Levin/Rush/Bennett.
Bill Bennett should have known better than to attempt an admonition of Glenn. What did he write “The Book of Virtues” for? The underlying fabric of society MUST be immunized from the forces of decay for the country to remain free. Otherwise elections will become meaningless exercises in respect of Liberty. A weak self-absorbed, morally soft, guilt ridden society is ripe for domination.
My two cents.

Rove is the one who pushed the Republicans into using government programs for vote-buying schemes. Rember Medicare expansions? No questioning Rove’s intelect and genious for strategy. But it was just short sighted. I’m sure that 2006 came as surprize to him. It should have been a stern rebuke to him and ALL of the political elites of both parties.
2010 is going to show the Dems that 2006/2008 did not mean that they were the primadonnas that in their vanity they thought themselves to be.
The contest is to see who can outlast whom. We better be training up replacements in the small government, rugged individuality side of the argument in the generation that is coming up and seeing us duke it out here. Otherwise, in 40 years, the elites will have won the day.
