Did Mitt Romney Really Screw Up Declaration of His Own First Name?

NY Daily News:

WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney fibbed about his real first name in a bid for laughs at Tuesday night’s debate — and immediately fed criticism he’ll say anything to get elected.

CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer opened the debate by asking candidates to introduce themselves. “Here‘s an example of what I’m looking for: ‘I’m Wolf Blitzer and yes, that’s my real name.’”

Romney couldn’t help himself in going for a quick laugh. “I’m Mitt Romney and yes, Wolf, that’s also my first name,” he said to dead silence from the audience.

That wasn’t the worst of it: Romney’s real first name is Willard — Mitt is his middle name.

People didn’t laugh because they know he has no character. If he becomes the GOP nominee ..God please help us. A choice between an empty suit moderate vs. a Marxist/Socialist. I’m not playing that 2 card Monty game ..I’ll be voting for Michele Bachmann on November 6, 2012..

If anyone here had the first name of Willard.. they would come up with another one real quick. Who cares what his name is ..as long as its not Barack Hussein. I would prefer any of their stupid names.. MItt.. Newt..
to what we have now! However my preference is still Mr. Herman Cain!

If I hear one more person compare McCain to Romney, I am going to scream. It is you very same idiots who got us McCAin last election as the evangelical base got behind Huckabee, as you listened to to priest, pastors, or whomever your religious leaders are, about Romney. So then we got Obama. That worked out great, you people really know what you are talking about. Don’t blame it one the media, blame it on yourself and your own bias. Quit bashing everybody who is on board to take out the mistake you help create. You people want to get behind these other candidates who either can’t win or are far greater flip floppers than Romney, only reveals your religious biases. I find this very disturbing. I went to 8-28 and thought I felt a great alignment with a people who was morally upholding and nonjudgmental, but I am beginning to question this. Just as in AA and NA, where no particular faith is endorsed or recognized, I hear the born agains unable to resist implementing their faith upon others. I ever even mention the Mormon faith, which I am not Mormon, it is like I triggered a demon seed in them and the attack begins. I was raised Catholic, so my faith already is unacceptable to these people. Reminds me of the radical Muslims, no kidding. So you evangelicals just keep it up, see if you can’t ruin another election, what is on the line is far greater this time around. Support Newt Pelosi, or antigay-Bauchman( who I like) or 999 or Super Paul and watch the election get lost.

Opps, there it was on the News just now, the Evanglicals are getting together to make sure Romney isn’t elected. They pretend it is his flip flopping on certain issues that leads them to others. As if no convert hasn’t changed their position on their feelings about these issues. AS if Newt, who talk about backing, didn’t cheat on his wife in real life, but is now a flip flopped faithful man. As if Santorum hadn’t tried not to love his challenged daughter, but came to loving her. This kind of BS in the church needs to STOP now. The Mormons don’t have their participants choose a candidate and even expect their leaders to leave that decision to the people. I am telling you, anytime a religious group gets together to work on attaining power, it is trouble. The same very trouble that corrupts our people today is because of religious bias. Then you wonder why the left thinks Christians are judgmental. What do we call this conditional love , hey ?? That is, you are loved and welcome, but only under condition. This is why I don’t go to church any more. When the leaders need the money of the participants to fuel their agenda, I want no part. The bible tells me, Christians tell me, God is all loving ~ all forgiving. PERIOD No man is to judge but to except the same judgment placed upon them. Once a man decides he has the power to determine what is good and bad, he then thinks he be like God. Sound familiar ~ The ultimate lie told to Eve in the Garden of Eden . Look into your heart

Obviously he was making a joke that failed. Many people don’t know that his first name is Willard and he has probably heard many flubs of people trying to recall it. So he joked that his first name was “also” Wolf. Does anyone think he really believes his first name is Wolf? I think it was, in part, a play on the SNL skit about Mitt Romney “Raw and Unleashed.” He’s a wild man… he’s Wolf!

He was tired, giving a late night press conference, and got lost somewhere between ‘we’re been to all 50 states‘ and ’we‘ve only visited 47’ and ended up at 57. He’s one of the most academically distinguished Presidents of recent times (the other being Clinton); he knows how many states there are. It’s as much of a non-story as the fact Romney can’t tell jokes especially well. If you think being a good comedian is the test for being a good President then there’s a Senator from the great state of Minnesota waiting for your support to run in 2016.

The quote in full “We’ve traveled to every corner of the United States, I’ve now been in fifty… seven states, I think; one left to go. One left to go to. Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it.”

I think you are right. Wait until they pry open his Mormon beliefs. They will probably get a third party like James Carvill or other Obama supporters to do most of the “public education” that will be intended to pry away the so called religious right. The pitch will be that voting for a Mormon will legitimize Mormonism and pull millions more into an apostate church. The Mormon church has a racist past that was deeply embedded in doctrine. Mormons have a novel explanation of where dark skinned people come from and why they were not allowed into the church for many years. Mormon leadership changed their attitude when faced with legal action but, not until then. This is going to be played in the background, like the birth certificate or SSN issue was for Obama. Some Mormon beliefs about salvation with respect to women will drive a wedge among independents. Doubt will be raised about Romney’s ability to honestly take the oath of office since it conflicts with an oath already taken as a high ranking member of the Mormon church. Eventually, some reporter is going to ask him about his magic underwear.
