Did Norah O‘Donnell Call Christine O’Donnell a ‘Freak Show?’

NewsBusters sets up the clip this way:
On today’s Morning Joe, MSNBC “correspondent” Norah referred to the Delaware Senate candidate as a “freak show.”
Norah‘s nasty gibe was a segue off Mike Barnicle’s observation that people were fascinated by the miner rescue story because, amidst all the artifice of politics and culture, it was something real.
However, the comment may not be that clear cut. It appears the Norah initially described the entire race as a freak show. However, her comments and reaction afterward raise questions as to whether the statement might have been directed at Christine in particular:
Norah and Christine are not related. At least Christmas won‘t be awkward in the O’Donnell house.

By contrast, the miner rescue story only made Americans further realize how shallow and self-absorbed Obama is compared to the President of Chile.

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 10:07amInterestingly, the drama played out in Chile was also somewhat contrived. A tragedy with a happy ending, undoubtedly, but my wife took note of how choreographed the rescue was. From the control of what the media was allowed to see, to the routine each of the miners followed upon emerging from the shaft, to the political points scored by a country’s leader whose popularity was falling in the polls prior to the incident, it was all pretty contrived.
I’m glad that all of the miners were rescured, and kudos to all of those involved in the heroic task. However, to laud the coverage as “real news” and not contrived is being less than honest. Just one of the “advantages” of living in a socialist state like Chile.

Posted on October 15, 2010 at 12:51pmYes, I did notice the choreographed rescue of each man and wondered if they had been coached beforehand about what to expect when they reached the top. Just chalked it off to making each man’s rescue appear the same for TV. Whatever, it was totally inspiring and a blessing. At least, their president really appeared to be genuine and cared for each man. More than our Pres. would do, I bet.

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 10:06amHow sad. These very small, politically motivated Progressives can‘t even give a high spirit report on Chile rescue without digging at O’Connell. I hope this is because O’Connell is pulling up in the polls. Anyone know?

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 10:38amrealclearpolitics.com still has O’Donnell down by about 18-19 points today. Unfortunately, she hasn’t made up any ground over the last month or so, seeing as how her party seems to have abandoned her. Hopefully the debates yesterday adn today will give her a boost and maybe get some more private funds headed her way.

Unbelievable. Says a lot about how she views human nature at it’s best. It’s a freak show to her. What a sad insight into the mind of someone so pretty.

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 9:20amIt seems to me that Norah was refering to Christina as the freak show especially. However it is of interest that the MSNBC comedy channel seems to have actually – finally – amazingly gotten one bit of fact correct about americans and politics. The miners rescue was real, while most politics and the politicians are fakes!!!
So I guess even MSNBC can get it right once in the proverbial blue moon…notice that it was Mr. Barnicle that discovered this amazing fact. Guess he is barred from Vegas for being too lucky at the casinos?
