Did Palestinian U.N. Rep. Shake His Head After Obama Mentioned Walking in Israel’s Shoes?

During his address to the United Nations General Assembly today, President Obama said that it’s important for both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian stalemate to learn to stand in their opponent’s shoes. This, he says, will help both parties better understand where the opposition is coming from.

Real Clear Politics provides the president’s comments verbatim:

“And friends of the Palestinians do them no favors by ignoring this truth, just as friends of Israel must recognize the need to pursue a two state solution with a secure Israel next to an independent Palestine

That is the truth. Each side has legitimate aspirations – and that is what makes peace so hard. And the deadlock will only be broken when each side learns to stand in each other’s shoes. Each side can see the world through the other’s eyes. That’s what we should be encouraging.”

After he makes this statement, the camera shows what looks like the Palestinian representative shaking his head. It is, of course, possible that he is responding in opposition to the president’s comments.

But if, indeed, the representative is actually shaking his head he may be doing so for a different reason (we can’t definitively know). Either way, the timing is certainly intriguing. Watch it below (see potential head-shake at 1:52):

I saw a definitive shake of the head. Looking straight at the camera, or Obama. But I saw nothing to indicate anyone he was shaking his head at otherwise.

I have to chuckle a bit here in regards to the Palestinians. These Palestinians are the descendants of the ancient Philistines. Did anyone think to brush up on the stories in Scripture about the Palestinian forefathers, because they were quite the characters in ancient times? Go back and read about some of the dastardly deeds these people inflicted upon the Israelites living in the land along side these characters. Case in point…Judges 16…Samson and Delilah! Because history has been so distorted, we have forgotten who these rascals are/were. These Philistine/Palestinian implants from Egypt and the island of Crete have absolutely no real claim to the land of Canaan, today called Modern Day Israel. They are bluffing. And if real Americans understood that they are Joseph’s children of the tribe of East Manasseh the man-of-war and West Manasseh the agriculturist as their Great Seal shows them, then they’d be handling these descendants of ancient Philistines a bit differently too.
The Palestinians desire to wipe Israel off the map, but God will NEVER allow that to happen. Philistines/Palestinians do not realize it, but THEY ARE TRESPASSING ON HOLY GROUND where God Almighty, The God of Israel, has placed His Name which is above every name. The Land of Israel belongs to ALL 12 sons of Jacob, renamed Israel by God Almighty. It is our ancient HOMELAND, our ancient HERITAGE, and one day we will reclaim it again!

First there will NEVER be peace with these two. You cannot trust the Muslims! NEVER! If other countries in the reagion like Jordan would give the Palestinians some of the land south of the dead sea and some of the land in Israel in the same area for the west bank north of Jerusalem it would settle all the BS. After all it’s all desert anyway. Just a thought although not very likly. But I guess no one would be happy with that.

      @Baik

There has been no open “hot” warfare for decades but only due to lack of opportunity. Given the chance, the Arab Muslim world would wipe Israel off the map…not my words, theirs. Clearly Israel has the military might to wipe out most of their Arab enemies. They don’t due to political issues. Arabs sigh treaties with Israel, then openly speak of, and actually initiate conflict. Israel responds and the whole process continues. The point this poster makes is; whatever treaties are signed, the Palestinian view is one where Israel doesn’t exist and that view persists treaty or not.

I know this is goofy, copy and pasting this same post on three different stories here today. But I can’t think of a better way to put it and it fits all three stories. I apologize for being goofy.

Obama and his presidency reminds me of little league basball.
They want all the kids to have a chance to play so they have to put in the inexperienced, uncoordinated kid that keeps putting his glove on the wrong hand and doesn’t have a clue.
All the players and spectators are embarrassed for the kid and frustrated with his bungling the plays and can’t hardly wait for him to be called off the field.
He gets lots of coaching from the stands and the players but the poor kid just can’t get it right and he looks uncomfortable and out of place out there.
And his poor parents are embarrassed for him and themselves having to tollerate the frustrated jeers from everyone.
It’s an uncomfortable, unpleasant time that everyone hopes will be over soon…………
November 2012 can’t come soon enough!!

Again, the President thinks he can speak people into action to do his bidding. Professor Obama is not in a lecture hall but he still gets an ‘F’ for putting Israel on the same level playing field as the terrorists that rule the so-called fantasy state of Palestine. While the President was giving his speech for peace the Palestinians were rioting on the streets of Ramallah. They don’t want peace. They want Israel erased forever. That’s why the Palestinian representative was shaking his head. President Obama is being played like a cheap deck of cards.

There is no two-state solution. “Palestine” is no more than ACORN house squatters. There is no such thing as “palestine”. Still, they were offered land, they said no. The ONLY solution is to evict the arab squatters from the “west bank” and “gaza strip”. Israel needs to do this; not the U.S. or U.N. We need to shut up and let Israel handle their problem. Support them if attacked but keep our stupid “democracy” and world police thoughts to our liberal/neo-con selves.

Why is not a single article on The Blaze written without spelling errors? Often the errors are in the title itself. Considering that 90% of the material is directly copy/pasted from AP, it is amazing to me that the remaining 10% is not even run through a spell checker first, let alone ever sees an editor’s eyes.
