Did Sen. Dianne Feinstein Reveal…Mossad Chief’s Secret Visit?

Israel’s diplomatic and military correspondents got quite the surprise watching the live feed of the Senate Intelligence Committee when Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) revealed the head of the Mossad had made a secret visit to Washington earlier this week to hold talks with senior U.S. officials.
The item led the “Mabat” main newscast on Israel’s government-run network IBA on Tuesday evening and was the headline on Ha’aretz newspaper’s website.
The travels of Mossad Director Tamir Pardo are usually kept secret and in fact, the name of the head of the Mossad and Shin Bet [Israel’s version of the FBI] were up until a few years ago kept secret from the public.
Ha’aretz reports:
The clandestine Washington visit was exposed during a hearing of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which was participated by CIA Director David Petraeus, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate panel.
During the meeting, Feinstein asked Clapper whether or not Israel intended to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, with the top U.S. intelligence official answering that he would rather discuss the issue behind closed doors.
Feinstein then indicated that she had met Mossad chief Pardo earlier in the week in Washington, with Petraeus adding that he too met Pardo and cited what he called Israel‘s growing concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The CIA chief also said that it was important to note that Israel considered a nuclear Iran as an existential threat.
In Sen. Feinstein’s defense, the travels of the head of the CIA to close allies is not as closely guarded, and she might not have known Israel’s modus operandi on the matter. On the other hand, as head of the Intelligence Committee, the senior Senator from California might have considered that with tensions running so high, some meetings are best held close to the vest. The question also remains: why did CIA Director Petraeus also publicly confirm the meetings?
He called it “part of an ongoing dialogue.”

Reflecting the heightened tensions, Israeli President Shimon Peres said Tuesday Iran’s “evil” leaders must not be allowed to get nuclear weapons, and he called Iran’s nuclear program the world’s “central problem.” Peres’ remarks opened the prestigious Herzliya Conference. Ha’aretz reported:
“Nuclear weapons mustn‘t be allowed to fall into the hands of Iran’s Ayatollah regime,” Peres said, calling Iran’s religious leadership the “most morally corrupt regime in the world.”
Hinting at the possibility of a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, the president reiterated the Israeli stance, according to which “no option should be ruled out in our dealing with the Iranian danger. This is an existential threat.”
“It is the duty of the international community to prevent evil and nuclear [weapons] from coming together. That is the obligations of most of the leaders of the free world, one which they must meet,” Peres said.
On what he called “the moral significance of this battle,“ the president spoke of an Iranian regime which ”executes people for their views. It funds, trains, and guides terrorists to spread terror and murder across the globe.”
The AP reports that Israeli officials believe if a military strike on Iran’s nuclear installations is going to be effective, it must take place by this summer, due to Iran moving facilities underground.
Additionally, over the weekend, veteran Israeli intelligence reporter Ronen Bergman wrote in the New York Times Magazine that he agrees this year is key:
“After speaking with many senior Israeli leaders and chiefs of the military and the intelligence, I have come to believe that Israel will indeed strike Iran in 2012. Perhaps in the small and ever-diminishing window that is left, the United States will choose to intervene after all, but here, from the Israeli perspective, there is not much hope for that. Instead there is that peculiar Israeli mixture of fear — rooted in the sense that Israel is dependent on the tacit support of other nations to survive — and tenacity, the fierce conviction, right or wrong, that only the Israelis can ultimately defend themselves.”
Clapper told the Senate panel he believes Iran has advanced technically on uranium enrichment and that its political decision on if to construct a nuclear device is the central issue:
“These advancements contribute to our judgment that Iran is technically capable of producing enough highly enriched uranium for a weapon, if it so chooses,” Clapper added, saying that the U.S. judged “Iran would likely choose missile delivery as its preferred method of delivering a nuclear weapon.”

Either to buy the land up cheap and then re-start the water, or, to buy the land up cheap to build their dreamy commuter train to connect the communist states of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Or, so Monsanto could buy up the land cheap. Or, so that we could eliminate vegetable farming in the U.S. and drive it to Mexico… too many possible reasons… But that doesn’t change the fact that they are taking away our resources.

Both Syria & Libya border the Mediterranean Sea where the 6th fleet could project power. Libya is a little easier nut to crack. It is more sparsely populated & closer to NATO bases. Syria also can call on its’ Hizbollah & Iranian allies. Both nations were killing dissidents by the hundreds & thousands.
Why intervene in Libya & not in Syria? Well Libya was easier & France/Italy want to make sure that the Libyan oil would flow. It was not for humanitarian reasons. The Italian & French Prime Ministers pleaded, wheedled & shamed Obama into siding with them & carrying 90+% of the war effort.
But seriously can you see a Democrat President kicking Assad (for humanitarian reasons )out of power & facing the wrath of Hizbollah & Iran? I can’t

See if you can follow the truth here. An appropriate response for 9/11 demanded that the United States deliver some sort of punishment directly upon the Arabs. Saudi Arabia was off the table as was Egypt (Mubarak was an American ally even though Egyptian Moslems tended to be sympathetic towards al Qaeda). Yemen was politically insignificant and the Iranians were not Arabs. There were various neutral Arab states like Kuwait and Jordan but attacking them would have been stupid and pointless. By the process of elimination, Iraq was really the only appropriate Arab state left to serve as the target of American displeasure. The argument to invade Iraq was further strengthened by the failure of the Iraqi people to overthrow Saddam Hussein after the conclusion of the Persian Gulf war and Saddam Hussein’s success in bribing the Europeans into adopting a policy of appeasement. Although Saddam Hussein was not directly responsible for 9/11, he ended up bearing most of the punishment resulting from 9/11. The lesson learned by the Arab world including the Saudis was if they failed to control their religious fanatics then punishment would be administered to some member of the Arab world depending upon how it best served America’s own strategic interests.

That is where America’s response should have been. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. You see, in a civil society you punish those that perpetrated the crime, not their extended family.
Using your illogic, I guess that America should have bombed China, eastern Russia, Korea… after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, in order to teach those Mongoloid races a lesson, and make them pay.

You know before I was educated I was not afraid to admit that I was ignorant and education certainly doesn’t imply one is informed. Most of my knowledge comes from reading and not what I was given in HS or college. I don’t know it all and I’m still not ashamed to admit it on certain topics but these people and I hate to say it because they are mostly Christian in name have doubled down on their Israel first stance. It’s simply extreme mind numbing ignorance which is frightening on many levels.
For example, I will say I hope that the Jewish Feinstein and other Senate leaders are not planning another False Flag operation with Iran like they attempted in the Lavon Affair or with the attempted sinking of the USS Liberty.

Its an intentional leak of information to show the Iranians that we are in fact working in concert with the Mossad if there was any doubt. This administration probably wants politicial cover from this disclosure that way if the Israelis act on their own they can say that they were advised against it in this particular meeting.

The US relationship with Israel is not fully understood in the US. In recent years I’ve come to the conclusion that while they may want you to think this, the truth is Israel is the dog and America is the tail because our Gov’t has been occupied pretty much since the days of FDR.

Where do get off accusing Israel of complicity in 9/11? Here are the real facts. We know that 19 terrorists, all Muslim, trained to fly planes, bought tickets on the hijacked planes, and were on them when they hit the towers etc. We have Mohammed Attah’s luggage (it missed the plane). Also, Daniel Lewin, ex-Israeli special forces, was killed as flight 11 was being hijacked. No evidence of Israeli involvement.
The Lavon affair, that was dealt with by Israel much like how we dealt with Nixon.
As for the Liberty, do you really think Israel would be that stupid. Israeli planes are all American-built while Egyptian planes are all Russian Migs. On top of that, Israel destroyed over 90% of Egypt’s air-force in their first strike. Even Lavon himself wouldn’t have tried anything that idiotic. I can’t be completely certain obviously, but to me it seem that in 1967 (during the Cold War) everyone in the US forces would know the difference between American and Russian aircraft. Israel even openly apologized for the attack. If anything says “Egypt didn’t do it” it’s “We did it and we’re really sorry.”

Accidents happen. Just the day before the Israeli Airforce accidentally attacked their own armored column.

If the PLO’s only interest was Palestinian rights, why then, when founded in 1963 (before the Six-Day-War) did they call for the destruction of Israel (and continued to do so even after Oslo)? Why does Hamas call for Israel’s destruction? Why does Abbas praise those who murder Israeli infants? If your fantasy world ever existed we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. La la land doesn’t exist. And you still haven‘t explained how it’s wrong for Israel to push for an “ethnically pure state” (which they don’t) but it’s fine for the Palestinians to do so. Go and live in your fantasy world if you like but the rest of live in the real world.

Remember, these people are unique in that they alone are allowed to pass on their refugee status to their descendents. Hows that for racism? If your going to take that approach, then there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Jews whose parents were expelled from their homes in Poland, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, etc. 500,000 Arabs fled Israel in 1948 while 700,000 Jews fled just from the surrounding Arab states. Then you have to factor in Holocaust victims whose homes had been given away. Two wrongs don’t make a right Rose, and they certainly don’t create peace. Just because some people fled and subsequently lost ownership of their land doesn’t give their descendents the right to kick people off that land who have committed no crime. What was Israel supposed to do? Those people left. For 20 years they lived outside of Israel, sometimes longer. Israel was being flooded with refugees who, incidentally, haven‘t been compensated for being thrown off their ancestral homeland where they’d lived for centuries. Your approach is to seek revenge. That will NEVER bring peace. True peace will only be realized when both sides are willing to put aside the past and build a better future.
