Did The RLC’s Obama Impersonator Go Too Far? Watch The Clip, Take The Poll. (updated)

The Republican Leadership Conference (RLC 2011) happening in New Orleans is in the news today, but not because of anything said by the 2012 Presidential candidates in attendance. The headlines are being generated thanks to an edgy comedy routine delivered by a Barack Obama look-a-like and comedian named Reggie Brown. (And like President Obama, Mr. Brown calls Chicago home.)

The comic skewered the President, Anthony Weiner, and a host of GOP candidates before having his mic turned off and being escorted from the stage.
We have updated this story with Mr. Brown’s entire performance. You are invited to watch it and take our poll.

Posted on June 18, 2011 at 10:50pmI’m probably in the minority here, but except for a few gags, I didn’t find the routine as a whole particularly funny. The audience was booing at some of the gags, especially the one about George Washington at the end of his career looking like Barbara Bush.

BTW, Tif, you never have good content. I would rather have the content than the grammar, just having both is a plus! XOXOXO

Posted on June 18, 2011 at 11:28pmHe enjoys impersonating Obama

But, Obama is Obama…I thought he was really, truly boring!
Report Post »Islesfordian
Posted on June 18, 2011 at 9:32pmThe voting choices are stupid and incoherent. The first ignores the possibility that material might be found offensive that has NOTHING to do with respecting the President. The second assumes that it would only be offensive if it was partisan. The third simply doesn‘t know what it’s saying: SNL has done worse, but this would be used against the GOP?. What the heck does that mean?

I’m sure the Journo-List and the White House have already put out talking points and as usual the Palace Guards/media will be spewing how racist the Tea Party is come Sunday morning well into the next couple of weeks.
Of course Bill Maher, SNL, and even Obama himself can tell the same jokes and it’s “artistic”.

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 1:00amIt is called comedy for a reason, and I didn’t hear anything overly offensive. If they don‘t like Reggie Brown’s humor, they should not have booked him. It was very rude to cut him off and escort him from the stage.
Report Post »Wyd Stantz
Posted on June 19, 2011 at 1:43amHe was escorted off because he was making fun of Republicans. Apparently, republicans are just as overly sensitive as democrats. Bunch of whiners… Reggie was awesome, I hope to see more of him and I hope he continues to poke fun at all of the politicians, even Republicans… because they screw up and do/say stupid crap all of the time. Ron Paul and Herman Cain are the only ones I am looking forward to hearing from… the rest of the bunch are no better than what we currently have in office. They may sound all strong now, but as soon as they get in office they will turn their back on the American people to appease the world’s agenda.
Report Post »Islesfordian
Posted on June 19, 2011 at 6:18amHe was alright. And given how few people have bothered to make fun of or even immitate the boy king it was fantastic to watch him. There was no reason for cutting his mike and ending his routine unless he went way over the time they reserved for him. If that was the case the RLC handled it clumsily and made themselves look stupid. Par for the course.
We should make Andrew Breitbart the NRC chairman.

“Turn their back on the American people”?
If you‘re looking for Herman Cain to do differently I WOULDN’T count on it. Do you know he’s a former federal reserve bank president?
If you want to talk about the “world agenda”, I’d bet big money the Mr. Cain won’t be doing anything to rile the “world leaders” if elected. DON’T count on Mr. Cain to do what’s right concerning the federal reserve.
