Wait…Did Top Obama Adviser David Axelrod Sorta Endorse Mitt Romney for President?

Did Top Obama Adviser David Axelrod Endorse Mitt Romney for President?

David Axelrod, one of the president’s top political strategists, made a statement on Fox Sunday morning that caused many to doubt his commitment to Barack Obama’s campaign (or, to doubt his abilities as a presidential strategist).

“The choice in this election is between an economy that produces a growing middle class, and that gives people a chance to get ahead, and their kids a chance to get ahead, and an economy that continues down the road we’re on,” Axelrod said [emphasis added].

The president‘s detractor’s have pounced on Axelrod’s statement, saying things like, “@davidaxelrod‘s right: choice IS btwn growing economy vs continuing down down road we’re on…,”and, “Hi @davidaxelrod, in your esteemed opinion, who exactly is to blame for ‘the road we’re on?’ The SITTING PRESIDENT perhaps?”

Watch the clip for yourself, below:

Conservative commentators have noted that the president seems to be running a 2012 campaign similar to that of 2008, as though he has not been in office for the last several years.

In their estimation, Obama is running against “the system” and a “lame duck congress,” among other things, as a distraction for the growing national debt and unemployment numbers that are not as low as promised.

The charge against the president’s campaign, however, is not so literal as to imply that the opposition literally wants to convince the public that we are in 2008.  It seems Axelrod may have gotten carried away, since “the road we’re on” has been set by his own president for nearly four years.

Axelrod didn’t technically endorse Romney, but many speculate that his comments will reappear in many Romney campaign ads!

You guys are buying into the same old campaign promises that are destined to not come true. Government does not create real jobs, only temporary jobs paid for by you and me. As Conservatives, our best option is to nominate Romney, get a Tea Party VP like Rubio, Rand Paul, Col. West, etc, and tow the Libertarian line. Romney needs us to be elected. Nothing could be worse than an Obama re-election, NOTHING!

We need to hold Romney accountable and DEMAND he shrinks this economic parasite known as the Government. It our best “hope.”

@Andy .. I have to disagree with you.

      1) Paul can win according to the newest Rasmussen poll. In fact, he’s doing better than Romney.

      2) Rubio isn’t eligible under the Constitution (of course neither is Obama) because, even though he was born here, neither of his parents were Citizens at the time of his birth and to be a “natural born” citizen according to the US Supreme Court cir 17-1800′s that is defined as having BOTH parents being Citizens at the time of birth.

      3) Holding Romney‘s feet to the fire is going to be about as effective as holding Obama’s. Example:

Moderator: Gov. Romney. If you had been president would you have signed the NDAA?

      Romney: Yes, I would have.

      ’nuff said.

      @ Romney voters.

Look the ship (USA economy) is going down very soon. We are about to have a currency crises. This will happen either way the election goes. Both Romney and Obama will not stop it. The FED has destroyed any hopes of true recovery and is just delaying the inevitable bust. Both Obama and Romney support Bernanke.

So ask yourselves, who do you want to be President when the SHTF? eh?? Do you want an overt socalist (Obama), or do you want a covert Socalist (Romney).

If Romney gets the Presidency, and the SHTF (it will), all the ignorant public will say “see capitalism doesn’t work” and then we will go down the complete totalitarianism road and never look back.

If Obama is reelected, and the SHTF (it will), it will put a death nail in his policies and we can actually vote somebody that will fix the broken (manipulated) system of monetary policy once and for all, with a hard money conservative. And hopefully then make the reforms to get us on a true capitalist system once again.

      1) Paul can’t even win the nomination of people who are more aligned with his view.

      2) Rubio is eligible. He was born here to parents who were here legally. The Supreme Court decision which you are most likely referring to has to do with people born abroad to parents who are both citizens such as military families and others on business, usually connected to government service.

      3) Paul is hardly one to look to when looking for constructive accomplishments. For one example. It’s interesting how he will work hard to make sure things he wants, such as earmarks and pork barrel spending, are included in bills he knows will pass and then he votes against the bill knowing it will pass so he can claim to be voting on principle. I call that doing what’s best for Paul not the country.

      @dcjones,

You are right. Not the collapse is coming quick. Little talked about news lately is that most buyers of our debt are stopping the purchases very quickly. The BRIC nations just anounced they are going to settle transactions in other than $$.

China just anounced today that they are letting their currency float compared to the $ twice as much as previously. THIS IS HUGE NEWS!!! I am astounded that there is less news on this.

      http://edition.cnn.com/2012/04/15/business/china-currency-peg/index.html

As demand falls for both dollars and Treasuries, prices and interest rates in the United States will rise. Rising rates will restrict the flow of credit that is currently financing government and consumer spending. This change will finally force a long overdue decline in borrowing. So, not only will Americans lose access to the consumer credit that funds their current spending, but the things they buy will also get more expensive.

Our short-term loss will be in sharp contrast to the gain felt by foreigners, who will be rewarded with falling consumer prices and a more abundant supply of investment capital. In other words, the American standard of living will fall while that of our trading partners will rise.

These little things are starting to add up to a large mural on the wall of coming inflation and much higher interest rates.

      1) Paul is father ahead than the MSM will ever tell you. Plus he has been elected HOW many times as a Congressman?

      2) Rubio is NOT eligible. In fact, Congress in 1790 defined “natural born citizen” as a child born of TWO American citizens.

“The Law of Nations,” a 1758 work by Swiss legal philosopher Emmerich de Vattel, was read by many of the American founders and informed their understanding of law later established in the Constitution.

3)Paul’s job and responsibility to his constituants is to bring back as much of their money as he can. It’s THEIR money they paid in why not bring some back home? He’s explained it quite well, you evidently didn‘t listen or don’t care.

I‘ve been saying that it’s about time for another pivot, an about face. The Secret Service embarrassment is the perfect distraction that gives the ridiculous Axelrod a chance to triangulate again.

Look! Let me be clear! The policies and agenda’s of Oblamer have been an utter, colossal disaster. Axelrod knows, you know it, Oblamer and his base know it….everyone knows it. Axelrod has no other choice but grasp at straws and try to convince the leftist’s that this glimmer of hope that the media has been harping on about how the economy is improving is what will become if we re-elect Oblamer.

In other words, Axelrod is saying that the road we are going down now…. Big deficits, Big Socialism, Big Gov’ts Big Spending is the road that will help the middle and poor classes in America.

The Democratic base has been trampled upon by Oblamer. The internal polling that Axelrod is working with say’s that the Democrats have lost half of their base. It’s unreal how pathetic this regime of an Admistration has become. Axelrod is plotting, but only through Putin like voter fraud and mass voter manipulation can Oblamer win this election. For example, Oblamer say‘s today’s Republicans couldn’t vote for Reagan, but the fact is that today‘s Democrat’s(2012) are now solidly Right of Clinton. Oblamer is the greatest thing to ever happen to Conservative Principals and ideals. He has proven that his way of thinking is a complete disaster.

Three years of wasteful spending, bad policies that actually hurt the middle class and all they do is act like they are going to save the middle class. It is middle working class against freeloaders. Obama printed money, hurt pricing of everything that the middle class has to buy. He has no energy policy, can’t get the senate to pass a budget, spent 3 years taking vacations and apologizing for the US. I am sick of hearing the sales pitches. He can’t sell his lies. Stop whining, it’s boring. You have a choice to make, a candidate who is an america-hating commie or one who is not.

I REFUSE to vote for someone I can not stand to support. I‘m tired of doing that and getting what we’ve had so far. i did it with Bush and McCain. I will NOT do it again! So no Romney for me, thank you. I couldn’t live with myself if he got in and did the same thing the current POTUS is doing only at a slower speed. Sorry. I will vote my conscience and the Constitution from now on even if I have to write in my candidate of choice. Let the chips fall where they may. My conscience will be clear that I did all I could do for my family and my Country.

If you don’t vote for Romney..you are whining or jealous..if you don’t vote for Paul..you are uninformed and anti liberty…if you “had” voted for Santorum..you are a war monger and anti birth control for woman, also a religious zealot…well I’m sure in the heck NOT going for Newt.

Maybe this explains why Obummer is rehashing his same old speaches, word for word. He has forgotten the last 3 years ever happened. I wish I could forget.

I think the entire administration believes all they have to do is repeat the rehetoric of 2008 and that will guarantee Obummer wins. I fully expect them to say the reason we’re “on the road we’re on” is Bush’s fault!!!

This administration has done more damage to the middle class than any other in history. I don’t know what was in his next sentence, but it probably included blaming the current economic road we’re traveling on Bush.

Not speaking about growing the economy, nor the road we’re on…

    LQQKs like David Axelrod
    had some botox treatments
    between and around his eyes.

    Wooo hoo!!! Wasserman’s hair…, Axelrod’s face.

    ;^> Make-over is coming November 2012
