Did You Ever See the Video of Rick Perry Dancing With Rabbis?

Did You Ever See the Video of Texas Governor Rick Perry Dancing With Rabbis?Texas Gov. Rick Perry is working fervently to secure the Republican nomination.

Naturally, one of the issues that has come up repeatedly on the campaign trail is turmoil in the Middle East and the United States’ relationship with Israel.

Politico’s Maggie Haberman writes:

Rick Perry has engulfed himself in Mideast politics with a hardline stand support Israel in his presidential campaign, a move that his backers and campaign have said comes from the heart, and predates the campaign.

I’ve written about his relationship with the Jewish community in Texas, where several people insisted he has Jewish supporters from around the state, and has honored holiday customs from the government office.

The campaign, of course, isn’t the first time Perry has shown interest in the Jewish community. In 2009, he was given the Defender of Jerusalem award for his support of the Israeli state. Haberman also uncovered video of a December 2010 celebration during which Perry invited rabbis to the governor’s reception room to mark the the first full day of Hanukkah.

During the festivities, Perry joined the religious leaders in traditional singing and dancing, while celebrating the lighting of the menorah. Below, watch him join the religious men in a circular dance:

Here’s footage of the entire event (dancing is also included here around 4:55):

We’re told this dance is the called the hora. According to eHow, “The hora is frequently danced at Jewish weddings and bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs” (for the actual steps involved in the dance click here).

Although I admit Perry performed poorly and I really did not like some of his answers, I think the questions posed to him were controlled and most of the good questions were posed to Romney. I honestly believe the Conservative media wants ROMNEY. I may be wrong, but that is what I think. But if Perry cannot take the heat on a panel …how will he handle all the devils in the WH? That is my biggest concern.

There is NO SUCH THING as a conservative media. They might call themselves that, but they are ALL in the center, and especially when it comes to morality.

In public school long ago, we danced the hora, along with many other types of ethnic dances. Fun dance!
That said, Perry the professional pol didn’t look at all comfortable and the whole attitude was aggressive, not joyous.

I think he looks great ! Don‘t worry the liberal left media won’t use it for humiliation, cause they know if the jewish voters see this the left will lose that block of voters. America’s foundations are built on Judeo-Christian principals, it’s about time we honored where those great freedom ideas of Law, Order, and Justice came from. They didn’t come from Mohammad! (Even though Muslims have the freedom of worship protected i.e. White House Ramadan dinner.) Americans just need to remember sharia and freedom don’t mix.

I have great appreciation for a “leader” who is willing to stand with Israel! These are people who deserve every Americans respect for their culture, their religion and the hell these people have been put thru! Governor Perry is doing the right thing and is showing the respect for the Jewish religion and I give great credit for this ceremony! Something that would never happen in the White House or with Obama any where or anytime! Thank you Governor Perry for standing with the Jewish and paying honor to their traditions and heritage! Something we see little of these days in the US!

For over 3,000 years honoring the covenant of God to his people across the ages and even unto today. Simply beautiful and inspiring are the Hebrew people.

Unfortunately far too many posts here reveal a willful ignorance to God and are blatantly disrespectful for no other purpose than to be seen as ignorant, which we are all free to be thanks to the moral law of God given to this His people.

May God bless them all and anyone who stands, dances and honors their commitments. Especially in the face of ignorance and persecution.

Even though I don’t agree with some of his political views, I like this very much. Shows we do have leaders that stand with Israel. He was very respectful and I admire that.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4tWZNxnABk

Although i cant find the full-length one for contextual sake :)

That should have been his response when Brian Williams asked him about Texas executing so many on death row.

Either that, or adopt that for the GOP slogan 2012…..
