Did You Miss Bush’s NBC Interview? Watch it All Here

In case you missed former President George W. Bush’s primetime NBC interview on Monday, NBC has posted all the segments. We’ve included them below.

But first, a bit of information that was not part of the interview. While NBC’s Matt Lauer does discuss waterboarding in the segments below, Bush’s new book Decision Points includes more details about the former president’s take, including that taking part in such tactics helped keep the UK secure. From London’s Telegraph:

In his book, Mr Bush writes: “Their interrogations helped break up plots to attack American diplomatic facilities abroad, Heathrow airport and Canary Wharf in London, and multiple targets in the United States.”

He writes that although the procedure was “tough”, it was legal.

The British Government has long viewed waterboarding as torture. Last month, Sir John Sawers, the head of MI6, said in a speech that Britain had “nothing whatsoever” to do with torture.

Here’s the interview, which includes Bush admitting his “mission accomplished” speech was a mistake, a story about a drunken dinner party, and his take on why Dick Cheney admitted he had a gay daughter:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

Part 5:

Part 6:

Lauer will interview Bush again, live, on Wednesday. At that time, he will ask Bush viewer-submitted questions. You can do that here.

Bush kept us safe you say? 3000 people in NYC, their families and a very sizable portion of people across the world who actually think for themselves disagree. You cannot change history as much as you’d like to. Your blind devotion and hatred are pathetic.

Refreshing! I’ll buy the book to hear the rest of the story. I realized when he was talking about the racist remark…that‘s exacty how I feel when this administration refers to it’s citizens that don’t agree with them. All the more reason that kind of racist attitude needs to go.

What he should have said to Matt Lauer is this… Ok Matt, lets say YOU get taken prisoner by a foreign country and they want some information you have. I guarantee you that if it’s in a Middle Eastern country, that you‘ll be PRAYING that it’s only waterboarding they use. Waterboarding is scary and you feel like you’re gonna drown, but it doesn‘t kill you and it doesn’t cause any permanent damage…say like BEHEADING does when Al Qaeda takes prisoners. We have way too many pansy liberals in our country, sometimes all a nail understands is a F’ing hammer!

I always felt in my heart that President Bush loved this country, and based his decisions on love of country and his faith in God. Of course he made mistakes; my God I make at least a couple a week myself on a much smaller scale. My point is I can’t sit here and say the same about Obama, because every indication to me is he does not love this country and wants to punish those of us that are successful. To give it away to others who have not earned it. Secondly, I have no idea what his faith is or what he believes. I just know he sat in Reverend Wright’s church for 20 years, and that is unsettling to say the least.

President Bush showed emotion and cried with us after 911, raw emotion. Obama shows zero emotion unless he is demeaning President Bush or blaming the Republicans in a speech. Or when he is telling Hispanics to punish their enemies and that republicans must sit in the back of the bus. He is just so scripted and mechanical, it is frightening.

I have tried so hard to like him and give him a chance even though I am a conservative. What he is doing to this country is not a mistake but very intentional and it scares the he11 out of me. I am not ashamed to say, I have had many sleepless nights lately. I do not trust him or those he surrounds himself with. I am counting the days until he is gone and if last Tuesday is any indication, he will be gone in 2012!

Thank you President and Laura Bush for your service and sacrifice for love of country, I sure do miss you! God bless America….

Waterboarding has been illegal since the Geneva convention in 1945. After WWII the united states executed japanese soldiers for waterboarding US soldiers. If a foreign country tortures and american, they are prosecuted by the international court at the Hague. George W. Bush, based on his authorization of “cruel and unusual” punishment, both broke the laws of this country and of the international courts. Justice is meaningless if not applied to all, and our 43rd president broke the law and should be in jail.

Those 3 thugs that were waterboarded, should have been hung in the streets by their heels and left for the public to flog as they wished, until they gave up every ounce of information that our military deemed necessary. I haven’t a problem with this tactic at all… you commit horrible crimes in the name of your fanatical religious beliefs, or in the name of your God, or… whatever… you deserve what you get.

it was SO difficult to force ourselves to tune in to a mainstream media network, but we’d take a bullet for PRESIDENT Bush . we could barely stand listening to lauer, it was pure obama-democrat sneering condescension all the way thru and just trying to belittle whatever PRESIDENT Bush had to say. unfortunately no one who regularly watches that vile lauer will ever buy PRESIDENT Bush’s book, so his time to that pos lauer was just wasted.
also, a pro-PRESIDENT-Bush US veteran we know expressed a desire to backhand that socialist smirk off lauer’s face about a zillion times during watching the interview.

They do have more class…comes from being raised as a southern gentleman…he might have partied in college and had a drinking problem…but why are we obsessed with having a President or Senator or House Rep that are puritanical?
Judge him on his character, on whether he keeps his word, and on his policies.
Character – Bush gets an A
Keeping his word – he did what he said he would on the campaign trail as best he could – Bush gets a B
      Policies – C-

Not the best President in our history but certainly in the upper half instead of the lower like Obama. Next to FDR and Wilson, Obama is 3rd to last.

Mr Bush faced so much stiff opposition from the activists and the Progressives, it makes me wonder if Mr Soros had expected and prepared to destroy the country under Gore, and then had to deal with Mr Bush instead for a time.

      Some great quotes:

“I couldn’t have lived with myself if the country would have gone into a deep depression,” Bush said, during a radio interview with conservative host Rush Limbaugh. “The situation could have been a lot worse.” Would he do it (band bailout) again? “Yeah, I would’ve,” he said.
      And…
“They do hate it. I can understand that,” Bush told Lauer. “Look, the idea of spending taxpayers’ money to give to Wall Street and the banks to save them… a lot of people think they created the crisis in the first place and so I can understand the angst. But in my case, I wasn’t worried about angst, personal angst or contradiction. I was worried about the economy goin’ down. And I believe TARP saved the economy.”

I thought Obama bailed out the banks! And wait, George Bush is saying the bailouts “saved the economy”?

You need to get the facts right, although Obama takes credit for TARP he and McCain went to Washington to vote for it during the 08 campaign as Senators….over 90% of the money has been paid back, so take TARP away and what has Obama really done to avoid recession…answer….Crapulous~

When he spoke about Condolizza Rice informing him about the 3rd plane attack; she said to him:
“Mr. President “the” 3rd plane has hit a building.”
The wording implies that they knew, as if they did not know about this prior to; she would have said that “a” 3rd plane has hit another building…..not “the” 3rd plane has hit the building.
