These libs. can’t even make a grown-up metaphor ( or, in this case, simile) but instead must resort to their natural, adolescent-level thinking, in which “That’s not fair!“ is the response to those who make more money than they do and ”That‘s the Republicans’ wet dream!” is their response when we decide to extend tax relief FOR EVERYONE. The way the left spins it is by calling it “tax cuts for millionaires”- nice try, guys, but anyone who runs a small business can tell you that rather than see their taxes increased during a miserable economic downturn, they’d much rather be able to reinvest that $250 k into their business, whether through expanding their product supply, building or leasing a new facility, hiring new staff, etc., thereby stimulating the economy. And while the liberals lie and make their adolescent comparisons, well, it just seems like so much propaganda masturbation, pretty much all they know.

The Demo-Commies shot themselves in the head. This is an example of why children can’t play with loaded weapons. Democrats can’t function in the American political system without destroying everything they possibly can. They can’t function mentally unless some kind of subversive socialist redistribution of wealth is involved. They can’t seem to get the message that their brand of insanity is not going to be tolerated by real Americans any longer.

You know these clowns remind me of the crazy ass zealotry that was encouraged in the Imperial japanes Army/Navy in WWII…if an order was not radical enough a junior officer could countermand it and repalce it with one worthy of the emporor’s praise ….really stupid way to fight a war but that’s what they routinely did (although many officers would rarely countermand the likes of Yamamoto or Nagumo).

What is happening on MSNBC looks like a Banzai attack directed at anyone willing to compromise the communist dream (which has at it’s heart THE critical buidling block tenant—- redistrobution of wealth — at it’s core) These people know they have a small window of opportunity from which to make this all fall into place and they know it. Obama knows the jib is up…the rest of the idots still think it’s possible to get it all if only Barry would just fight…he has outlived his usefulness if you listen to these clowns…Wow with friends like these who needs enemies. ?

That is why these clowns are making as much noise as they are….the meat and potatoes of the “march to communism” will now have to subsist on a diet of tater scrapsand maggot infested rice. Welcome to the ranks of the hoi poloi fools

Neither Hoover or Roosevelt were ever as wildly successful as Reagan, the great Ronaldus Magnus, at stimulating and maintaining (for 8 years) a robust economy in which more and more Americans had the opportunity to earn, grow and maintain wealth. Unfortunately, that’s not what the left wants for 2010 Americans. The liberals believe that all wealth should be redistributed so that rather than allow a person to keep what they earn and enjoy a reasonably comfortable standard of living, all must learn to do with less and adjust to sub-standard conditions so that, ultimately, we too can wait in line for toilet paper and bread and candles (electricity will be too expensive for the average person’s consumption and will be reserved solely for govt. use), like they do in Cuba and Venezuela (and you know how the left loves Castro and Chavez- they’re the greatest!). And soon we will be forced to give up the greatest health care system in the world so that even medicine and medical care, surgeries, etc. can be distributed “equally”, except when there aren’t enough doctors or medicine or cancer treatments or surgeries for every patient and the govt. institutes rationing- gee, maybe we can stand in line for antibiotics and x-rays, too! Why, who wouldn’t want this dreamland, this utopia?!

Dear MOSSBRAIN….and this statement means something????? Perhaps you should educate yourself so you can have the ability to better communicate with people. Possibly you can learn how to address an item of discussion and present your understanding of the point. By all means, express yourself, but try to do so with common respect. There are people actually working as Walmart greeters to enable them to buy food instead of taking government handouts. You never succeed by putting down someone else. If you have strong principals stand up for them instead of ridiculing others.

Read and Learn – As Usual

If there was one thing the Revolutionary generation agreed on — and those guys who dress up like them at Tea Party conventions most definitely do not — it was the incompatibility of democracy and inherited wealth.

With Thomas Jefferson taking the lead in the Virginia legislature in 1777, every Revolutionary state government abolished the laws of primogeniture and entail that had served to perpetuate the concentration of inherited property. Jefferson cited Adam Smith, the hero of free market capitalists everywhere, as the source of his conviction that (as Smith wrote, and Jefferson closely echoed in his own words), “A power to dispose of estates for ever is manifestly absurd. The earth and the fulness of it belongs to every generation, and the preceding one can have no right to bind it up from posterity. Such extension of property is quite unnatural.” Smith said: “There is no point more difficult to account for than the right we conceive men to have to dispose of their goods after death.”

The states left no doubt that in taking this step they were giving expression to a basic and widely shared philosophical belief that equality of citizenship was impossible in a nation where inequality of wealth remained the rule. North Carolina’s 1784 statute explained that by keeping large estates together for succeeding generations, the old system had served “only to raise the wealth and importance of particular families and individuals, giving them an unequal and undue influence in a republic“ and promoting ”contention and injustice.“ Abolishing aristocratic forms of inheritance would by contrast ”tend to promote that equality of property which is of the spirit and principle of a genuine republic.”

Others wanted to go much further; Thomas Paine, like Smith and Jefferson, made much of the idea that landed property itself was an affront to the natural right of each generation to the usufruct of the earth, and proposed a “ground rent” — in fact an inheritance tax — on property at the time it is conveyed at death, with the money so collected to be distributed to all citizens at age 21, “as a compensation in part, for the loss of his or her natural inheritance, by the introduction of the system of landed property.”

One might note that this was long before the establishment of income, sales and property taxes so it’s understandable that in the 18th century, this kind of confiscatory philosophy made sense to these men.
Here in the 21st century we feel differently, as the average worker is unable to keep the entirety of what he earns to use as he sees fit, to support his own family. How many people do you know who cash their paycheck and walk down the street redistributing it to people at the bus stop or on the sidewalks? I’ll tell you how many you know- none, zero, because we need to feed, clothe, house, educate, etc. our children and light, heat, repair, maintain, etc. our homes and we have medical bills and emergencies and plenty of other reasonable life episodes that require us to pay and pay and pay. And, after we‘re dead and we’ve willed what we have managed to save to our children, the left wants them to keep paying, on money WE earned and on which we’ve already paid taxes! So give it all to an administration with no experience running a business or making payroll, that has not one business owner or economic scholar who‘s not a backward ’Keynesian’? No, I don’t think the majority of us are in favour of that, no matter what was en vogue in the early days of our republic.

Just because Thomas Jefferson and Adam Smith said it, doesn’t make it right. The truth is the Uber-super-dooper-wowzer-rich (or whatever they are being called now) do not keep their millions or billions stashed under a mattress. The money is invested in businesses and banks. That money is used to fund business expansion or give private loans and- wait for it- CREATE JOBS! It is Christmas, watch ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ Jimmy Stewart explains it in the scene where he tries to stop the run on his bank. What anyone does with his money after death is not the government’s business.
The federal government has no right to take a private citizen’s money and distribute it to other citizens.

Even stalwart members of the latter-day Republican Party, the representatives of business and inherited wealth, often emphatically embraced these tenets of economic equality in a democracy. I‘ve mentioned Herbert Hoover’s disdain for the “idle rich” and his strong support for breaking up large fortunes. Theodore Roosevelt, who was the first president to propose a steeply graduated tax on inheritances, was another: he declared that the transmission of large wealth to young men “does not do them any real service and is of great and genuine detriment to the community at large.”

TR was a progressive, as are the “latter day Republicans” you speak of. Progressives have a way of infiltrating and hijacking both parties. They just had more success with the Dems. It would be nice if moderate members of both parties would realize this and boot the Progs out to the Socialist parties- where they belong. As for Hoover, I am no scholar in his policies, but that seems to be a rather prog stance on his part. In the time before income taxes, as Treshall mentioned, this policy may have been more applicable.
I think there are better ways of funding the federal government than taking money from private citizens in any form.

Glenn Beck might, for once, be right: the government is coming for your gold. But only if you happened to buy it from one of Beck’s advertisers, the Superior Gold Group. At the request of prosecutors from LA County and Santa Monica city who have filed a civil suit against the company, Los Angeles County judge has ordered that Superior Gold be placed into receivership and all of its assets—bank accounts, real estate, and presumably gold stored for customers—frozen. On Monday, a court-appointed lawyer actually physically seized control of the company, presumably to prevent further wrongdoing. The lawsuit alleged that among other things, Superior had defrauded its customers by overcharging them, fraudulently inducing them to buy overpriced collectors’ coins rather than the bullion that they wanted, and taking customers’ money for coins they never produced. The prosecutors hope that the lawsuit will provide restitution for all of the company’s ripped off customers. The judge will hold a hearing later this month to decide whether the company’s assets should remain frozen until the case goes to trial.

Putting a company in receivership is a pretty drastic and very rare move for a judge in a civil case. It does not bode well for Beck’s other and much bigger gold advertiser, Goldline, which has also been accused of very similar tactics, as Mother Jones documented earlier this year. The California prosecutors are also investigating Goldline. Both companies have claimed that they were targeted solely because of liberal outrage about Beck’s political viewpoints, and touted their outstanding ratings from the Better Business Bureau in their defense. But the dramatic business seizure on Monday of Superior Gold suggests that the consumer complaints were not only legitimate, but that the situation may be worse there than any of the critics suspected. Whether Goldline is in the same boat is hard to know, but the swift takeover of Superior Gold has to be making Goldline (and Beck, too) awfully nervous.

Recently, the media has been filled with stories of the left repudiating President Obama. He is being condemned by the left because of his inability to stamp out the last remnants of individual liberty after almost 2 years in office. According to the news reports the left considers this incompetence. Ridiculous! The real underlying message is that if the left is dissatisfied with Mr. Obama, then he can’t be all that bad, can he? This is a rather transparent effort to convince the gullible that Mr. Obama is not the wannabe tyrant his actions show him to be.
Do not be duped by this media blitz. Every proposal that Mr. Obama has initiated is aimed at oppression of the individual, destruction of the remainder of our Capitalistic system and increasing the power of the wannabe tyrants.
As tyranny always begets poverty and despair that will certainly be the result of Mr. Obama’s proposals
This is just another example of the use of the “preponderance of propaganda”! The wannabe tyrants and their cronies are publicizing lies, half-truths and the irrelevant to avoid a discussion of the issues. Pay no attention to the smokescreen.
When the premise is false the only arguments that can be used are fear mongering, emotion, sarcasm, ridicule, attacking the messenger and misrepresentation of the facts (lying). Those who expect to reap huge profits from our misery caused by tyranny are experts at these tactics.
The only relevant issue is freedom or tyranny!!!! http://commonsense21c.com/
