Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. was briefly placed on lockdown Saturday morning while authorities investigated a suspicious item found near the entrance that turned out to be harmless.
Police said a park employee discovered the item was in a tree near a ticket booth at 7:10 a.m. local time, Los Angeles CBS affiliate KCBS-TV reported. It turned out to be an item stuffed inside a PVC pipe that a high school student left as part of a geocaching game, KABC-TV reported.
According to KTLA-TV, the object contained “spiritual message of goodwill” for park guests.
The bomb squad was called and guests were not been allowed into the park for the duration of the lockdown. A select group of patrons that had been allowed into the park before its official opening were sequestered in a safe location.
Suzi Brown, director of media relations for Disneyland Resort, said in a statement to KCBS after the initial discovery: “The safety of our Guests and Cast Members is our top priority. In an abundance of caution and to allow the security teams the opportunity to learn more, we are keeping Guests away from the area at this time.”

Posted on March 4, 2012 at 10:45pmFor those of us locked inside the park (yes I was there) it was no big deal at all. We enjoyed the incredibly light crowds. Disney despite the homage to the mouse takes it security quite seriously.

Is Disneyland ALSO (like Disneyworld in Florida) private property with private police that doesn’t allow guns and therefore state/local police won’t/can’t go onto it? Can “the happiest place on earth” really be an absolute dictatorship? Hmmm … kind of like today’s America?

Posted on March 4, 2012 at 11:48amVisited Disneyland in 63 and while waiting in lines, spawned the nickname, dizzyland.
In 93, visited EPCOT on the way west from an east coast rally with a girlfriend in our respective Corvettes.
Paid full park admission at noon on a Sunday for two adults with the sole purpose of popping into the Rose & Crown Pub.
Caught up with some Base Pale Ale filled patrons and had to take a cab home.
Then a friend drove us back to EPCOT on Monday to retrieve our cars, thus maintaining the nickname dizzyland.
Would have never noticed a PVC pipe in a tree.

You people have been sold a bill of goods that Muslims can do anything on out homeland, but if you keep our troops over there instead of over here it will happen! Idiots!

Posted on March 3, 2012 at 1:35pmSo the questions need to be determined – is it just a reaction to be on the safe side (hopefully; and that it turns out to be nothing harmful for anyone.)
If it is a ‘real event’ then who put it there? Top guess, if that is the case is any of Obama’s radical allies or the unions.

Posted on March 3, 2012 at 5:59pmoh for crying out loud you guys, I’m definitely no Obama supporter either, but could you all please get off the Obama conspiracy train? There isn’t even the slightest evidence of suspicious behavior, and yet you guys still go all nuts with your nonsense theories, and then attack everyone who says ”yeah, could we stop being ridiculous?”
So on behalf of all the sane Conservatives on here, just shut up.

“I’m here in Cali and my wife, kids, and I have the annual passes to Disneyland and CA adventure. I was looking around tonight and I started thinking there are so many people here from other states and countries. I think since the original idea for Florida was to be stand off as far as campaigning is concerned.
Perhaps we should try and get as many people as humanly possible to flood Disney World / other theme parks on a single day (during the week of the FL Primary, wearing their Ron Paul gear. Then again in Cali respectively.
No need to market and bring flyers and such (getting kicked out… lol can see it now the mouse hates RP). But just try and strike up conversations with people in lines and so on. Educate them.
Just an idea.”
