DNC Fundraising Dropped Sharply in July

DNC Fundraising Dropped Sharply in July

The Democratic National Committee says it raised $6.7 million in July, down from $12.2 million in June and $10.5 million in May.

While still ahead of Republicans it was the DNC’s lowest monthly amount since President Barack Obama launched his re-election campaign in April, a month where the committee raked in $14 million in contributions. Obama cancelled some fundraisers during the month because of negotiations with congressional Republicans over the debt ceiling.

The party’s fundraising includes $2.2 million for the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising account by the DNC and Obama’s campaign. Obama did not personally attend any fundraisers in July and Democratic officials said most of the victory fund money came from events held by first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and others.

Obama’s campaign and the DNC raised $86 million during the spring fundraising quarter ending in late June, giving it a substantial lead on the Republican presidential field. The party paid down about $600,000 in debt, but Democrats still owe about $11.2 million to creditors. The DNC currently has $20.1 million in the bank.

Obama’s campaign had said it does not expect to raise as much in the summer as it did during the spring because of the cancelled events. National Journal notes that professional fundraisers will admit both July and August are usually less sensational months for fundraising, given people’s vacation schedules.

The Republican National Committee has reported to have raised $6.1 million in July and has $7.6 million in the bank, about $300,000 more than it had last month. National Journal reports that that figure could have been higher, but the RNC spent big bucks on a four-week advertising campaign to try and protect Republican state senators in Wisconsin who faced recall elections.

DNC Fundraising Dropped Sharply in July

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has tried to reduce the party’s large debt since taking over for former chairman Michael Steele in January. RNC officials estimate that they inherited $24 million in debt when Priebus started as chairman, an amount that has been reduced to less than $17 million.

Separately, the campaign arm of the House Democrats raised $4 million during the month, while their Republican counterparts raised more than $3.8 million. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ended the month with $8.1 million in the bank and $4 million in debt. The National Republican Congressional Committee wrapped up the month with $11.2 million in cash on hand and $2.7 million in debt.

In August, Obama has held fundraisers in Chicago, New York and Washington.

Maybe people are wising up as well. Listen to this speech from The John Birch Society. It’s amazing!
He says there is a conspiracy within the United States to destroy the United States. Everything Welch said is happening today. Also, the things he said we need to do to restore America, and the world would benefit as well, are the things The Tea Party have been saying. This speech was recorded in 1958!

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZU0c8DAIU4&feature=related

Notice at the beginning of the speech, he said that the things that the Communist insiders wanted to do to destroy America happen to be all the things that today’s Democrats want to do!
      Coincidence? No way!

McCarthy was right. Communists within America have been trying to destroy America and today, they are the Democratic Party.
      1) Destroy the economy by expanding Federal spending as wastefully as possible – bailouts
      2) Dramatically raise taxes
      3) Increasingly unbalance the budget despite higher taxes
      4) Wildly inflate the currency – monetizing debt, quantitative easing, print money…
      5) Price controlling under the guise of combating inflation – Obamcare
      6) Greatly increase Socialistic control over our everyday lives – Obamacare again
*) Huge increases in bureaucracies – this was obvious long ago
      7) Increase Washington‘s power and reduce state’s control
      8) Federal takeover of education – Carter did that already – indoctrination of the youth to accept Marxism

You forgot cause as many divides as possible. Obama has created class wars, race wars, sexual wars (between the sexes – his little comment about his own budget and telling his wife she couldn’t have anything, but he could keep his golf clubs? Only meant to make wives resent their husbands), etc.

      Print

Criticizes Administration’s Notion that Food Stamps are Economic Stimulus

COLUMBIA, SC – Texas Gov. Rick Perry today took his campaign for president to South Carolina, where he underscored his belief that economic opportunity is derived by creating jobs, not issuing welfare. He criticized recent comments from President Obama’s administration claiming that food stamps are a form of economic stimulus and emphasized the need to get government out of the way and unleash the private sector to create the jobs our nation needs.

“Most Americans do not yearn to be dependent on government subsidies, they want economic freedom, and economic freedom comes from work and wages, not welfare,” Gov. Perry said. “The central issue of this election is an Administration that believes Washington must be our caretaker, and a people who want Washington to only take care of their constitutional responsibilities.”

… but the Democrats represent the middle class and the poor! These millions certainly weren’t raised by mere $5 and $10 donations. Wake up Democrats … you’re being manipulated and seen as useful idiots.

Good! May the DNC money continue to dwindle and shrivel. Payback’s an itch.

In my opinion, no one should give a dime to the RNC…they will only use it to back candidates of THEIR choosing, not yours. Instead, donate directly to the candidate of your choice. Back them with your money…back them with your time…and tell the RNC to simply back off!!

i prefer to donate to the candidates i like directly, i don‘t trust the RNC or their political vision any more than i would the DNC’s.
i suspect we will see more and more direct support for candidates and less for party’s as time goes on and people become more disillusioned with the same old song and dance…..

When everyone has to start paying their fair share, donations drop, and of course when all of the union workers aren’t working and paying dues, donations drop. But the fundamentally transformed the economy, the jobs market, and their money base. Hows that Hope and Change working for ya.
