Politics and governing are about protecting the liberty of every American, and implementing policy that makes it easier for businesses to create jobs–not horseplay.
While discussion appears to still be on for Bermuda companies, Swiss bank accounts and the best means for situating your pet dog on a long car ride, Democrats said Thursday that they would scale back attacks associated with Ann Romney’s equestrian interests.
The DNC has announced that they will no longer air attack ads featuring video of Ann Romney’s dancing show horse, which she trains as part of her therapy for multiple sclerosis, that was used mockingly in a recent ad released by Democrats calling for Mitt Romney to release more tax returns. ABC News reports:
Now the DNC is saying it will put out no more horse videos, and is expressing regret for offending Ann Romney.
“Our use of the Romneys’ dressage horse was not meant to offend Mrs. Romney in any way, and we regret it if it did,” DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse told ABC News. “We were simply making a point about Governor Romney’s failure to give straight answers on a variety of issues in this race. We have no plans to invoke the horse any further to avoid misinterpretation.”
During an interview on “Good Morning America” Thursday morning, Mrs. Romney said the attack ad ”makes me laugh.”
“It’s like, really? You know there’s so many people out of work right now,” Romney said of the ad, which was intended to suggest Mitt Romney “dances around” releasing his old tax returns.
During another ABC News interview, Romney surrogate and former primary opponent Tim Pawlenty called the ad, which he had not seen yet, “really, really low,” considering the horse hobby is done as therapy for Mrs.Romney’s medical condition.
“Well, I haven’t seen the ad, but shame on them, really,” Pawlenty said.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 5:39pmFor any normal thinking American, just this ad alone should persuade someone NOT to vote for anyone the DNC represents. They are scoundrals, they are void of any morals, and they appear to live in an evil little world all to themselves.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 11:32amAnn Romney does ride but not THIS horse. The horse in the commercial [attack ad] is owned by three people, one of whom is Ann Romney the others are Amy Ebeling [wife of Jan Ebeling...the rider] and Beth Meyer, a friend of the Romneys. The rider/ trainer is NOT Ann Romney but Jan Ebeling, a world class rider.
Report Post »Ann Romney does ride as therapy for her MS, it is called Hippo-Threapy and is recognized as effective treatment of neurological illnesses.
As a horse lover, owner and Dressage rider who is NOT “wealthy” I recognize the DNC’s attempt at fostering distrust and envy of the “wealthy” for what it is…..a STEAMING PILE OF HORSE MANURE!!!!!!

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 7:18amNot meant to offend Ann Romney;; BS, the only reason these comrades in arms are back tracking is because of the back lash from caring and thinking individuals. Keep on them folks and don’t let up.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 10:17amShucks I’m afraid now – I have 5 horses! They need to back down – someone will add up all the expenses Michelle has stuck the American tax payer with. Last I heard it was over $ 5 million and just the other day it cost us $83,000 to I think it was Colorado. Laura Bush never tripped all over the world unless she was with George on US business. I’m still ticked off that after Obama was elected he took Michelle across country to celebrate Valentines day.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 5:36amThat’s a nice looking horse. It takes time, effort and great care to train a horse to do that. Rich or poor it takes skill to pull that off.

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 8:37amYes, the liberals cannot understand the skill of Dressage. It takes great skill and coordination between horse and rider to do this sport.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 9:26pmWhat an idiotic and poorly made ad. As a Western rider who performs in a discipline very similar to Mrs. Romney’s, all I can say is “what the heck does her horsemanship have to do with her husband?” Really? Lame.
Let’s talk about fitness to be the President of the United States. Let’s talk about drug addiction, drunkenness and other very important issues.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:56pmSounds like they got too much flack from the citizens of this country. I know it did not have anything to do with Ann Romney. The Kennedy’s had horses out in Virginia, horse country. But when you do not have anything to slander an opponent what else do you use? Romney has been taking it easy on Obama so far but I do not expect this to stay that way come October. They are already saying this is the dirtiest campaign in history so you can tell they are running scared. But expect them to give up they do not have anything to stand on for a platform except we are better than they are????????????

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 8:55pmWhy aren’t we screaming Kennedy, he had a lot more $ than Mitt and he didn’t earn it. At least Mitt earned his $. Kennedy’s religon was a BIG thing back then too.I want someone that knows how to make $ not just waste ours. No one is perfect and with what they will walk into I can only pray they can rid us of some of what we have been handed under obama. If I were Mitt I would say to obama “You show me yours and I’ll show you mine”. obama has spent over 3 mil. to hide the truth from us and he talks this trash…Glass houses obama and stones don’t mix well and you will not win this one. But hay gang can you see the damage he is trying to inflict on us before Nov.?? It is frightening. He frightens me more than any POTUS I can remember…even Carter was nothing compared to obama. God keep us strong.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 9:05pmWasn’t it, though? If I was rich, I’d learn to ride a horse. But I would never own one, because I’ve heard that they are very high-maintenance and require a lot of attention to keep them healthy. I have enough trouble keeping my Wolfie Dog and my Black Street Cat healthy and out of trouble.

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 11:33pmOh for crying out loud, you do not have to be rich to ride horses, you can rent them. Owning one is like having super big dogs-that don’t come in the house. A little land, shelter, food and vet bills. Middle class and even a few “poorer” can have them, but you need knowledge in care and keeping. Folks on ranches and farms have them, and many of those are not super rich. Dressage can be pricey, but when I want to dance I’d rather dance with someone I love, and friends and family. They are great, and fun, and beautifull to look out on in a field grazing and just being. They are soul fillers. God bless all folks who are keeping them from slaughter.
