Do Americans Know More About Religious Freedom Or American Idol?

Among the big news stories this week were two very different issues:

  1. More than 40 different Catholic organizations filed a lawsuit against the federal government over Obamacare’s contraception mandate.
  2. Who would win the latest competition and be crowned the 11th “American Idol.”

So, we have the issue of religious freedom — a cornerstone of our nation and something many people believe is worth fighting and dying over –  versus a 13-week televised singing competition.

Which do you think Americans will know more about? Considering the fact that almost 24 percent of the adults in this country are Catholic, you might expect at least some of them to know about the legal action taken by their church to protect their right to practice their faith without government direction or interference. Then again, maybe not.

Our friends at MRC took to the streets to survey the people:

It is the responsibility of every citizen to be informed avout their vote before casting the ballot. But, if we start quizing people, who determines what is the right answer or the difficulty of the quiz? This can be used as a tool to suppress dissenting opinions.

Clearly, ALL escapism and indulgence is bad. In addition to a war on drugs, I’m proposing a war on food, TV, the Internet and recreational reading. That way we can all be told what to think, do, eat, say and read… for our own good, of course. Prohibition is the only logical answer to building a better, brighter tomorrow. Surrender all electronic devices and reading material to the govt. authority that will be coming to your home.
Being ignorant and lazy is not “cool”… but it’s not illegal. Hell, it could be argued some cultures and age groups do find ignorance and brazen stupidity cool… or at least attention worthy. You can juggle the morality of such all you want. I do love me some ‘man on the street’ interviews. Bread and circuses, folks. This has happened before and will happen again.

My problem with any prohibition & busybody interventionism is A) such moves tend to lead to further problems, including the criminalization of irrepressible human behavior & B) busybodies tend not to know when to stop.
I believe people can choose to be stupid & self-destructive… & that goes beyond drugs to eating habits, hobbies & entertainment choices. If & when your choices put others in jeopardy (sans govt. authoritarianism & restriction to begin with), that’s when the state should step in.
It’s odd how people are so hung up on drugs, but believe it’s okay to disobey speed limits & general car safety. A junky left to his or her own devices does me no harm. An impatient, dangerous turd behind the wheel of a car is more dangerous to me & the people I care about.
Rot your brain, your body, your soul… I don’t care. As long as you do me or others no harm. The jig is up on the dangers of tobacco, alcohol, fatty foods, driving w/cell phone in hand, texting while driving & bathtub crank. Educate, legislate to address harm, but never kid yourself into thinking you’re gonna save the world from itself. That’s as foolish & ignorant as paying more attention to pop TV than current events.
I believe we may be on the same page: Responsibility for and to self is valued by some. Others don‘t care and can’t or won’t restrain themselves. I say let them own their choices a step on them when necessary, not for the sake of feeling better about one’s self.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. Their very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be ‘cured’ against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals” – C.S. Lets just say, for giggles, just want to zone-out and relax and just get away from it all. My point? SHUT-UP about Pres. Obama and HIS GOLF GAMES!!! I am making a point that this country is going down the toilet and Pres. Obama needed to do his golfing & numbers for basketball. Sure there are many, MOSTLY the young who don’t give a rip about politics. No excuse..but many don’t. Back to a point of people “drawing conclusions” about other people’s behavior. Just recently a 400+ woman stating her goal is to be 800+. Seeing her & hearing her almost 20 hr a day eating schedule….it isn’t a “clue”..it is a PROVED-POSITIVE by her APPEARANCE. This woman does not “give-a-rip” about her health and many people in America do not give a rip about their future. I am not ashamed (tee-hee) to say I watch these 2 programs because I CAN’T AFFORD TO GOLF. Actually, would rather go “white-water-rafting” or target practice! LOL p.s. I stay informed about the future of America & I am “one-of-the-old-people”

American idol, and the reality shows people flock to are distractions and help hide what is really happening in this country.  They are like psychological anesthesia to keep the people sleeping.  The  majority of sheeple bite on the underlying agenda of those entities that want socialism in the country.  This includes all most major news outlets which are run by just a handful of socialists.  Push social agendas that enrage the religious groups. Create class warfare, feed the lies to the masses to ripen them to your socialist ideas.   Attack the rich, take their money distribute their wealth.  .  Never mind that along the way these people may have created thousands of jobs as they grew their companies.  Keep intruding in citizens lives, telling them how to live, and installing your political correctness.    Erode the freedoms little by little, condition the people.  Your deceptive ways some people have awakened to.  Stand back and try to take in the big picture.

Legitimate Questions from an Obama voter:

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. I voted for Obama. McCain was a Washington insider and we don’t need any more of them. I have changed my mind three times, since then. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. I started thinking “where does all the money come from for President Obama”?

I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans. I started looking into Obama’s history for my own peace of mind.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies.

“Barry” (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a “round the world” trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family.

    continued…

My question – Where did he get the money for this trip? Neither I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they were in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack – not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. My girls asked
me; where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe it’s none of my business?

After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York. By “chance” he met Antoin “Tony” Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery several times in the past and in 2011. Rezko, was named “Entrepreneur of
the Decade” by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association”. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? His family has no money that’s for sure.

After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down.
But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what I discovered?
They represented “Rezar” which is Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chica

in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with “seed money” for his U.S. Senate race.

In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for this property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Am I going nuts or is there a pattern here?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was “sacked” after the press found out he was having regular contacts with “Hamas”, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq , he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will “take care of things”. What the heck does that mean?

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those “small” Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2009, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, “My Muslim faith”. When questioned, “he made a mistake”. Some mistake, huh?

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it out go to Wikipedia,
encyclopedia, for Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett; Daily Times – Obama visited
      Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times – September 7, 2008; The Times – May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question … If I found out all this information on my own, why haven’t all of our “intelligent” members of the press been reporting this?

I don’t usually post windy articles like this but thought it may encourage others to dig deeper.

I am so sick of these strong arm politics that are pushing anyone from even asking questions. If I already didn’t know by this time that the current liberal movement was such a radical one I would know now.

Note: the term “liberal”, they are not. They have no respect, no actual liberal thought when it comes to anyone that disagrees or lives or even believes differently then them.

LIBERAL, Definition: free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant – given freely or abundantly; generous – of or constituting a political party associated with ideals of individual especially economic freedom, greater individual participation in government, and constitutional, political, and administrative reforms designed to secure these objectives

If liberals were actually liberal in thought, speech, and action toward government and other people they would be what is considered conservative. Funny thing is they claim this stuff.

I am liberal by definition; I find that, politically speaking, I fit with libertarians the most.

Of course the lamestream media, Nothing But Communism, Communist Broadcasting System, Always Broadcasting Communism, Communist News Network, More S*** from Nothing But Communism, Politbureau Broadcasting System would not report anything which would reflect badly on their poster boy in the White House. They don’t want the public informed about the lawsuit because it reflects badly on Obamacare.

The lamestream media are so reminiscent of the “Press” and radio, television along with print media under every dictator from Hitler to Mao and Joseph Stalin, that it is absurd to say the least. These are no longer news organizations whatsoever! They are propaganda outlets for the liberal far left.

Fox News, World Net Daily.com, Drudge Report along with GBTV are the only organizations with the courage to tell the real truth and expose the incessant lies we are fed by the networks and print rags like the N.Y. Times and its subsidiaries.

As far as news from Israel is concerned, the lamestream media can only report derogatory “News” from there. One has to fine out the truth from groups like MEMRI.com and a few groups dedicated to telling the true story from that country and the rest of the middle east.

They’re better, but don’t trust those outlets either. I would say Drudge is my main source, but still will look at as many sources as I can, because they have an agenda too. As for Fox, it’s just slightly better than the rest, but is becoming more and more like the rest every day, and they call support some sort of global agenda. I mean, you don’t think Rupert, Soros and other NWO trash are discussing their golf games at the CFR, do you? GB, was great, something’s changed. Still better than most depending on the folks who talks with. I don’t trust that his heart is pure anymore though. At the very least I think his agenda has given him the justification to decieve in certain ways. You know, he knows what’s best for everyone, so… I’m starting to figure out that the most credible stuff is often put out by people in the comments sections the various outlets have. I just wouldn’t trust any of them at all.

When the single largest organized church in America sues the Federal Government and the story is blacked out by the unofficial fourth pillar of government this greatly contributes to the ignorance of the people. As I recall from my elementary school social studies classes, the reason the press was granted “freedom of the press” was to insure that they would inform the public. Unfortunately, they have this special protection but neglect to do its job. The media in my opinion waste this opportunity by focusing on Hollywood and partisan politics. They are letting America down and it seems obvious when one surveys people on the street.

I’m going to need more ammo than I thought or maybe these sheep will just self extinguish
      ——————————————————————————————–
I bet you have never even shot a gun in your life!

      Probably too scared.

And speaking of a sheeple mentality, what do you think the “kill everyone that disagrees with me” thing is? The reality is you are just a scared little punk. No better than Trayvon Martin. Just a thug.

      You know I’m right too.

      @troll
Even my 10 year old daughter is probably a better shot than you. Yes, I am scared for my family and my country and no I don’t want to kill everyone that does not agree with me. Just the hoards that will be lost, like you, and these idiots that don‘t have a clue what’s headed this way or how to take care of themselves and will will want to take what I have prepared for. You are welcome to come by then and see if I own a gun or two.

I rest my case. You probably have serious anger management issues and most likely beat your wife, kids, and dog. The only solution you know is brute force. No one is coming after you, no one is trying to take anything you own, there is no reason to hunker down in your bunker. There is nothing wrong with being prepared or defending yourself, but to talk like you do shows serious mental issues. You are the perfect caricature of the ignorant, gun-toting right wing radical that brings the trolls to this site. You make fools out of us all. Worse, you probably consider yourself a Christian but you have no love for your fellow man. Anyone who does not share the same political worldview as you is simply a target.

Go ahead and hate me, but I hope my words make you stop and think. You talk like a punk teenager, if you are an adult then shame on you! You are the worst kind of fool, far worse than the idiot liberals and occupy morons. If you do actually own firearms then I sincerely hope you do not end up murdering anyone.

Don’t feed into comments from trolls, they feel they’re safe and sound in Mom and Dads basement where they live jobless and overweight. Pecking away at their keyboards with their twinkie coated fingers. They do this because trying to solicit reactions from people is the only thrill they have in their pathetic little lives. You know I’m right too. Eh Troll?

Your self projecting is showing through. I’m sorry about your wife, kids and dog. No one needs to make a fool out of you. You do a good enough job. As far as a Christian, I do fall short as all do but again you might check yourself

Phillip Phillips sucks. Joshua should have won. And I could answer all the other political questions any reporter could throw at me, so where’s my participation trophy? I AM the true American Political knowledge Idol!

Joshua had a good voice until he started SCREAMING. So you should stick to Politics and leave the music to others.

I’m with you Baddoggy … Joshua or Jessica should have won … and I too know what’s going on in the world. Guess some of these bozos have never heard of a ‘remote control’. It would allow them to toggle back and forth from FoxBusiness or FoxNews on one channel and something like American Idol on another.

I believe he was destined for the win from the moment legendary country music artist Mel Tillis helped his parents name him.

Before I watch the video, I am sure that America knows more about American Idol. I‘ll streak at a Phillies game if I’m wrong.

They knew more about Idol than the lawsuit, but the particular people he talked to didnt know much about the TV show either…

I guess most Americans just do not care unless it directly involves their isolated little worlds…
