Twitter has redesigned its short messaging service to make it simpler, faster and more personal, as well as easier to use the app on mobile platforms.
The changes were released Thursday in updates to Twitter’s applications for smartphones and tablet computers. Visitors to Twitter’s website should start seeing the new look before the end of the year.
Here The Verge shows you what has changed for mobile platforms and tablets with the new Twitter “Fly”:

Twitter revamped the service to address one of its biggest challenges. Although a lot of people generally know what Twitter is, many still don’t understand how to use the service and its various tools.
With the changes, it will be easier to find people and companies with Twitter profiles. All it will take is typing an “at” symbol in front of a user’s handle.
Profile pages are also being expanded so individuals can showcase more information about themselves in text, photos and video. Twitter also rolled out brand pages, which CNET notes means it’s just joining Facebook and Google+ in terms of such branding capability for companies. Even still, CNET gives Twitter props for allowing more flexible page design and strength of consumer interaction.
The LA Times reports Twitter Founder and Chairman of the Board Jack Dorsey as saying the redesign gives people “less places to click, less stuff to learn.” As part of this simplistic movement, things like hashtages (#) and @ handles will become more understandable to those who don’t know the “jargon” and remain available to those who do, the Times reports.
Here’s some of what the Twittersphere had to say:

“Oh, I’m FLY, I use Twitter, the new Federal Surveillance program with a cool web design!”

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 9:51amYeah, Twitter’s fly for people trolling the Blaze hitting you up and annoying you in real time on Twitter.
I had one guy (Hi, Convervitard999) hit me up over there and “own” me in debate by calling me Adolf, making pee pee and poo poo remarks, calling me homophobic names, then saying that the only history I read are Beck and O’Reilly books.
When I started tweeting my library at him showing not a single Beck history book (he’s only published one and it came out last week), then defeating his crap with indesputable historical facts, he said he immediately changed the subject.
These trolls are morons.
