BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police say a doctor has been shot at Johns Hopkins hospital and the shooter is holed up inside.
Police department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the gunman has barricaded himself in a room.
Guglielmi says the hospital is being evacuated.
He said he doesn‘t know the doctor’s condition.

I’ve always wondered why someone who is against the taking of human life (as in an abortion) feels it’s OK to shoot [kill] a doctor. Where’s the logic in that?
And before anyone jumps on me – I am an anti-abortionist but I don’t shoot doctors – I just speak [as opposed to yelling] against it when I have the chance.

Posted on September 16, 2010 at 9:18pmIt’s a sad situation. Surgery is always a risky business, but the outcome for this man’s mother was devastating. If he was unstable to begin with, the news of her paralysis, probably pushed him over the edge. You simply can’t predict how someone will react to such terrible news. It’s a tragedy, but this same scene is played out in hospitals all over the country every day, probably several times a day, with no such outcome as this. I hope they don’t go to extremes over this with gun laws,etc. I think it’s a very isolated case. I hope the Doctor will recover.

Posted on September 16, 2010 at 9:11pmDon’t know wendio if you have ever had family in a hospital, but if you ever do, make sure you are there every minute of the day and night. The Docs and nurses do their best, but many times they simply can’t be in two places at once and your loved one could be left alone longer than you might like. If they are helpless, so much the worse. They are not perfect either, and mistakes have been made when someone was not watching. You have to be your loved ones advocate in the hospital or a nursing home. Keep people out of hospitals, sorry, bad idea.
