Doctors Release New Photos of ‘Miami Cannibal’ Victim’s Face (Warning: Graphic)

We already told you about the horrifying photos of the “Miami Zombie” victim’s face. The images, so disturbing that we chose not to publish them, showcased the terrifying fallout from the use of a drug that has become known as “bath salts.” Earlier today, new images of Ronald Poppo, the homeless man who was attacked by so-called cannibal Rudy Eugene late last month, were released by doctors.

These pictures, slightly less disturbing that those previously published, expose just how much of Popp’s face that is missing (doctors claim 50 percent of it was chewed off) as a result of the attack. Despite the terrifying images, medical professionals claim that the victim is progressing well.

Jackson Memorial Hospital medical professionals in Miami claim he’s awake and walking around with the help of hospital staff. Here’s an image showing just that:

One of the pictures that was released shows Poppo’s face covered in scabs. In it, the victim is also missing his nose and his eye sockets are covered. Despite these terrible images, he is talking and has been somewhat upbeat. Below, see another image that shows the extensive damage he sustained to his face:

“His left eye is gone, it was gouged out during the attack, but his right eye is still there, said doctors at the Tuesday afternoon news conference,” reports CBS Miami. “It’s not known yet whether he has any vision in his right eye, it remains bandaged up. They hope he’ll have a little vision left.”

Considering these pictures, Poppo likely has a long recovery — and many surgeries — ahead of him.

      Whoever you are you are pathetic. The commentary on these stories have gone .beyond normal people and totally disgusting. However for the first time my comments are directed to the Blaze per the Warning:Graphic above the column and then run a video which shows the man injured where one does not have the choice nor can it be missed when scrolling. There was no warning per the video. I had no inkling to read this article nor did I but after the video just disgusted. We had a choice of whether to watch Saddam Hussein being hanged some of us chose not to. The choice should be there but for heaven’s sake common sense should prevail. The stupidity of the comments of the idiot I am responding to in order to post this complaint proves my point as to common sense. God be with the victim of this horrendous crime.

    The mother of the guy who did this boo hooed on http://www.dailymail.co.uk stating her son would never do anything like this. She blamed everyone but her son.

    Bath salts or alcohol or whatever – if you kill or maim someone while under the influence – GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL FOR 30 or more years for maiming and get the needle/death for killing someone.

      God doesn’t need to do anything…. PEOPLE need to do something about this junk… This poor guy was down on his luck and homeless… I doubt (not sure though) that he has ever hurt anyone to any degree that this act could have been justified in any regard..

      I get what your saying…. But people saying that IS THE PROBLEM… People need to stop turning to “god” to solve the hard problems, and do something about it themselves… I know that this is not something that one of us can do something about (since it is in the past…), but if you have a friend or family member that is “using” bath salts…. Beat the holy crap out of them…. And tell them you will continue to do so until they can reign in their issues…

      We all know “God” doesn’t EVER do anything about things like this… “God” allows serial killers to roam free, Child molesters to go un-reported.. “God” allows evil to exist… Its up to HUMANS to control and limit evil…. Asking “God” to help, is akin to just throwing up your hands and saying, “Its not my problem…”

      “God” and “The Devil” are not responisble for the current state of humanity… HUMANS are… Its time Humanity steps up and carries its own weight without asking “God” to help us…

      God gave us the means to take care of ourselves… It would do him a great dis-service to neglect the gift we were given…

      Yeah… about that whole God thing and order… if God is Omnipotent, don’t you think He knew what He created in Lucifer? Don’t you think He knew Lucifer would rebel? Don’t you think He knew the chaos that would follow? He allowed Lucifer to exist… to cause what’s going on… He knew it would allow sin to come into the world… so… wouldn’t it be fair to say God created sin and the disorder that comes with it? Death, suffering, and tragedy on an unimaginable scale… Let’s all worship a God who created this madness “out of love for us” only so HE would be glorified in the end… pretty twisted god.     This is horrifying. This is the result of Hollywood promotion of drugs and open borders where people are shipping all kinds of drugs over our borders. These people in our government think their children and family are immune to being victims and so they allow obvious brainwashing of our kids and when they grow up they believe it is alright to experiment with drugs. These things may seem small but to the victims of these drugs, it most obviously is not small.

    Have to say it is bad, but not as bad as the first reports. Lets hope he does not lose the other eye. This level of damage would not really need a face transplant if they could reconstruct his nose with skin as he does not appear to have any mouth muscle damage. They have being reconstructing nose for decades learned in war.

    Charla Nash who was attached by Travis the chimp had more damage to the overall face and looks okay after her face transplant.

    Just another innocent victim of the drug generation. I guess now the liberals will want to legalize bath salts . I have an idea take all those that want drugs legalized lock them up in a stadium give half the bath salts and walla have are gone the next day.

      Bath Salts are brand new they are something created in a lab like “spice” the fake weed. It has not been made illegal yet. But like spice when they make it illegal they will change the formula just a little and re-release it, because they FDA can only make specific compounds illegal. This is the game that is being played, once it is outlawed, tweak the formula and sell it again. The scary thing is that these new “designer” drugs are worse then the things they are supposedly replacing that have been made illegal for years. Decriminalizing possession of a simple plant would instantly get rid of these type of dangerous new chemical compounds that kill people.

      For whatever else is going on with him, no one deserves this!

      As a former social worker I can attest that 95% of the homeless 10 years ago had mental health problems, extensive criminal histories or addiction issues, but now with this recession…..there but by the grace of GOD go any one of us!

    He looks so much better than before.. that he is upbeat tells me he pobably doesn’t know the real extent of his condition.. or he is an amazing person.. who takes life as it comes and I figure its the latter..after living on the streets I would imagine one takes life as it comes! is life will never be the same!

      Hes lived on the street for about thirty years.He’s seen things that would make your hair curl.To him this is almost another day.Actually this is a blessing in disguise of a sort.He has been reunited with his long lost family.Sounds like they really care.I doubt he will be homeless again unless its his choice.His attack was the darkness before the dawn.

      it sounds cliche I know, but what has the world come to? It makes me wonder if this sort of thing is going to happen when it all collapses and people can’t get food. I mean, when you think of Iran possibly doing an E.M.P. attack on us, that will send us back into the stone ages and how are people going to behave, especially after this administration has done so much to stir up hatred for everyone. Dividing us by race, class, religion…people are so angry and then you do something like an E.M.P. man….scarey to even think about.
