Does Media Matters Coordinate Strategy With the White House?

David Brock was smoking a cigarette on the roof of his Washington, D.C. office one day in the late fall of 2010 when his assistant and two bodyguards suddenly appeared and whisked him and his colleague Eric Burns down the stairs.
Brock, the head of the liberal nonprofit Media Matters for America, had told friends and co-workers that he feared he was in imminent danger from right-wing assassins and needed a security team to keep him safe.
The threat he faced while smoking on his roof? “Snipers,” a former co-worker recalled.
“He had more security than a Third World dictator,” one employee said, explaining that Brock’s bodyguards would rarely leave his side, even accompanying him to his home in an affluent Washington neighborhood each night where they “stood post” to protect him. “What movement leader has a detail?” asked someone who saw it.
Extensive interviews with a number of Brock’s current and former colleagues at Media Matters, as well as with leaders from across the spectrum of Democratic politics, reveal an organization roiled by its leader’s volatile and erratic behavior and struggles with mental illness, and an office where Brock’s executive assistant carried a handgun to public events in order to defend his boss from unseen threats.
Yet those same interviews, as well as a detailed organizational planning memo obtained by The Daily Caller, also suggest that Media Matters has to a great extent achieved its central goal of influencing the national media.

Why is it okay for Glenn Beck to go out armed, with a bullet-proof vest and a contingent of armed body guards? Why did Glenn keep at least two trained attack dogs in his yard in Connecticut? Oh, and he also petitioned to have the fence around his property raised to 6 ft high because his security guards said they couldn’t keep the place secure. At the same time, Beck was telling people he was taking his kids to the movies and carrying a gun into the theater. But that’s okay with you folks. I read the entire article. It’s short on details, the sources are all annonymous and it doesn‘t link to the Washington Post interview that it’s supposed to be referencing. The main article links to a clip of Brock talking shortly after Gabby Giffords was shot. It isn’t so “odd” when you put it in context. This article is rife with inuendo and conflation of details and dredging up really old stuff. And irrelevant new stuff, is it important that a couple of Media Matters staffers were having office sex? Yes, it’s tacky, and often leads to firing, but it‘s happened in several organizations that I’ve worked for, including a miltary base overseas. It’s just bad behavior, it’s irrelevant to Media Matters work as a media watchdog. It‘s a lot of attacks on David Brock but the article doesn’t show any errors in the work of Media Matters. And how does one luncheon with Valerie Jarrett make them so powerful?

Wolfman bought a station in Mexico, XERF I think it was, and the Mexican Federalies decided they weren’t getting enough monetary kickback from the station and decided to take it for themselves. Soros, Hilary and this group of basement dwellers could spin one world in all 360 degree directions! I do notice on the very occasional times I visit since the advent of GBTV and since I no longer watch FOX (no TV/cable, find all the news I want on line), that MM’s content has dropped dramatically! They have few stories anymore, and can go almost an entire weekend without updating anything. In addition, the stories they do write are even more fabricated and imaginative than every in the past as they have almost nothing to “report” on!
A group of nasty, rotten, sad little boys doing their master’s business (master = satan), both in their professional life and their private life. Sad, very sad. Well stated. Regarding the prayer portion, your are right. Praying that the Lord of the harvest send out workers to bear witness of the Gospel for the harvest is great and the workers are few.
But I realize that there is a people who will never repent but God will still use to His glory, such as the Pharaoh whose heart was hardened against God and Moses.
I have become more aware of not praying to sustain those who hate His Gospel, His kingdom, and want to destroy the USA. I know that as long as they are breathing they still have the option of repenting, but as long as they are bent on destruction, including the USA, then let it come upon them, not the sons and daughters of God, and not the USA.

I will vote for anyone but Obama but am afraid that any of the candidates (except crazy Paul) are just Obama light. Romneys term as govenor of MA was highlighted by liberal laws like Romneycare. Santorum voted for several liberal bills while in the congress. Newt will tell you what the polls tell him you want but if elected might fall back on his liberal ideas and his friendship with Fancy Nancy (Although she did say she would reveal enough dirt to derail him.) Paul is nuts, he would isolate us from the rest of the world.
In spite of their shortcomings they have to be better than King Obama.

At first I found things to be a bit impenetrable, but slowly the picture is emerging and becoming clearer.
My faith in America and americans is unshaken. The USA will shrug this nonsense off eventually and continue on the course set by its founders. Of that I’m certain, because the nation protects itself with freedom of speech.

Why not look at the Pew University research that shows that Fox watchers score lowest on tests of knowledge of current events. Try taking the media quiz yourself and see how you do. I scored a perfect score on the last two or three of them. But then, I never watch Fox.
