Does Palin’s Israel Visit Signal 2012 Run?

JERUSALEM (The Blaze/AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin visited a Jewish holy site in Jerusalem soon after arriving in Israel Sunday on a trip that has raised speculation she is honing her foreign policy credentials before a run for the U.S. presidency next year.
Palin arrived in Israel Sunday after visiting India.
Palin, who was John McCain’s running mate in his failed 2008 campaign for president, rarely travels abroad and has been criticized for a weak foreign policy record. This could be an attempt to change that.
Aaron Klein, a conservative radio talk show host in Israel, told “Fox & Friends“ on Monday that ”people are speculating that because she is here this might be a sign that she could be running in 2012 or at least certainly mulling a run.” He even went as far as to say a trip to Israel could be just as important as a trip to the early caucus state of Iowa:
Palin did not comment to Israeli reporters at the airport and was whisked away in a white van.
Although the trip is private, she is to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.
“As the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel,” Palin said in a statement.
Palin toured holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City Sunday evening as Israelis celebrated the Jewish festival of Purim.
“Israel is absolutely beautiful and it is overwhelming to see and touch the cornerstone of our faith and I am so grateful to get to be here,” Palin told reporters. “I’m very thankful to know that the Israeli and American link will grow in strength as we seek peace along with you,” Palin said.
She visited the Western Wall, a retaining wall of the compound where the biblical temples stood 2,000 years ago and which is now the holiest place where Jews can pray.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Islam’s third-holiest site, was built in the seventh century atop the ruins.
Palin returns to the U.S. Tuesday.

What we need is someone with common sense. The person should have experience working real jobs and should know how to live off-the-land. Our next president should be someone who can take criticism and not get bent out-of-shape. Our next president should be someone who rises to serve the country at an instant and would run for office with only one-week’s notice. Yes, what we need is another Obama! Man, you and Tea are sooooo freakin’ funny! Can’t you at least try to convince me to vote for Obama? I’ve been a Dem almost my entire adult life (I’m now an Indy), can’t you find anything positive to say about Obama that would make me want to vote for him?

“What we need is someone with common sense.”
Palin hasn’t exactly proven she possesses this rare gift.
“The person should have experience working real jobs and should know how to live off-the-land.”
What’s a real job? Working as a cashier? How does that make one a better president? Live off the land? Why in the world would that qualify someone for presidency? “I can’t count to three but I sure can gut a bear in ten seconds flat!”
“Our next president should be someone who can take criticism and not get bent out-of-shape.”
Palin quit after half a term mostly because she couldn’t deal with criticism. She can’t take the heat.
“Our next president should be someone who rises to serve the country at an instant and would run for office with only one-week’s notice.”
And that person would be Palin because… what? She said that? Did she say that? Did she do anything that would make you believe that?
“Yes, what we need is another Obama! Man, you and Tea are sooooo freakin’ funny! Can’t you at least try to convince me to vote for Obama?”
I.. didn’t say you should vote for Obama? All I said is that you’d be best advised to vote against Palin because she has no qualities that would make her a good president. This is not necessarily a binary choice between Palin and Obama.
“I’ve been a Dem almost my entire adult life (I’m now an Indy), can’t you find anything positive to say about Obama that would make me want to vote for him?”
First off, congrats on not just voting for a person because of the team they’re on. We need more people who do that. And the only positive thing I can say about Obama (since I’m not exactly a fan, you see) is that he’s not Palin. If given the choice between only Obama and Palin, I’d vote Obama so hard people in China would feel it and spontaneously create a working democracy.

You make some fine points. Mrs. Palin resigned because she was being sued by the Democratic establishment and they were bankrupting her.
I should’ve counted 7 presidents past in order to get to JFK, who at least tried to do something about the Federal Reserve, but nothing about civil rights.
I said I was a Democrat almost my entire adult life, but I didn’t only vote Democrat. Gary Johnson NM, McCain 2000 primary, etc.
Mrs. Palin left her cashier’s job as Gov. of Alaska to make millions. As Gov. she also had executive experience. It’s difficult to have an opinion on any of your choices besides Palin, because you don’t provide any, you only vote “present”.
Of the four candidates on the two major tickets in 2008, only one had 2 months to prepare for the election while recently having a child; she did it because she was asked to serve her country.
Her son serves in the military.
I know that you are a brain surgeon on your off-time, but here is what it sounds like: blah, blah, blah, she’s a celebrity, blah, blah, blah, she quit to make millions of dollars, blah, blah, blip (that’s original), blip, blah, blah. She’s a dolt, blah, blah, blah, blah, I‘m a brain surgeon and I know that you shouldn’t vote for Palin blah, blah, blah, blah.
Tell me who would be a good choice for president, I’m willing to listen. If I shouldn‘t vote for Palin because she’s a dolt, then at least give me some good reasons so that I don’t remain a dolt. You see, I want to be intelligent like you someday.

She left because opponents/left/etc. had tied up her administration with frivolous lawsuits designed to bog her down and make lawyers richer, chuckle.
My best supposition is that if she had completed her term, she then would’ve been accused of being a “Do Nothing” governer. It wouldn’t have mattered that all of said lawsuits would have been thrown out ( it doesn‘t matter NOW that they’ve been thrown out it seems….. ). She would be painted as a Do Nothing and a waster of tax dollars or as a Quitter (as she is being accused of now)….
It boggles my mind to no end… how people can feed upon this “mind pablum” various sources feed us without thinking about it then questioning EVERYTHING. ;)

If she’s the Repub, candidate, I beleive someone like Trump is far more likely to run as a thrid party, giving Obama another four years, if she’s the Repub candidate.
I would prefer to see a Cain/West ticket, (or similar) that named her as the future ‘secy of energy.’ Her greatest accomplishment, IMHO is the way she took on the corrupt relationship between the energy companies and politicians in Alaska. She jailed corrupt people from both parties and got the energy industry to pay-up for the ability to exploit the resources of the Alaskan people. (This promise is why Alaska joined the US in the first place.
There’s plenty of room for energy companies to make a ton of money, while getting rid of (at least a portion) of the corruption in the energy sector. She can do more for our country in that role, than any other I can imagine.

In fact, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) reportedly told a “joke” about Chelsea Clinton in 1998, saying, “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”
Many people objected and I personally didn’t like it but there are no laws or rules against it.
You want to know what the big difference is between the Right and the Left when it comes to the kids being off limits. Limbaugh speaks for millions on the Right. McCain is one of the leaders of the Republican party.

I used to think she would “for sure” run (and win) for 2012; but don’t know for sure about that now. It may not be until 2016….all I know is she is no doubt seriously considering it, waiting to see what develops after much prayer & discussions with her family, etc. – as she has said. She needs to feel like God wants her to. Many don‘t understand if they’re not “on that same page”. But then many make the mistake of thinking He does, when He doesn’t…..so I just wait and see. Very important that the U.S. supports Israel (which it doesn’t now too much) so I pray that we will have a President in 2012 that is a strong one; therefore, I’m happy she was asked and she went. I‘m sure it’ll give Israel hope that things will turn around for them iin 2012. That is all good. I think we’re intertwined spiritually — God bless Israel….God bless America!

Posted on March 21, 2011 at 11:40amSarah had the wisdom to leave office in Alaska to save the people significant costs. Meanwhile, several other Governors and the President who are obviously being pestered by costly opponents have not stepped down, and it seems like the whole country is in deficit. To avoid controversy, and additional costs, it might be a good idea, and more profitable; to Sarah to become a senior outside policy maker like Karl Rove. Also this way she would not be accountable and could never fail, technically.

Look, if you don’t ever want to earn anything, be controlled at every effort, and give up anything that you produce, then why don’t you just live YOUR life that way? DON’T push it onto us!
Why are you for tearing up our Constitution and peeing on the graves of our ancestors who fought against those who sought to CONTROL us They have to be very proud of you as a descendant, wouldn’t they?
As far as St. Paddy’s Day is concerned, I’m Irish. Do not dishonor St. Patrick. The only thing “Irish” about Obama would be his WHISKEY!

I am not figuratively or literally tearing or peeing. I don‘t believe the O’bama administration has done anything anti constitutional. I believe in our socialist system…I think Social Security is good, Medicare is morally just, Medicaid is needed, ACA will reduce healthcare costs (not enough).
I hate Gitmo, the war in Iraq and the bombing in Libya…the war in Afghanistan is just but poorly executed both before and after the O’bama election.

I voted for her in 2008 as VP and it hasn’t worked out too well. She needs to take longer pauses when she answers questions; she comes across as someone who is too hyped-up on caffeine. Posted on March 21, 2011 at 12:51pmThe problem with our Presidents has not been that they lacked the knowledge or ability to be President. The problem is that they pursued the wrong agenda. For over 100 years, few of our Presidents have understood the “free enterprise system” or believed that individual freedom was in the best interest of the country. Accordingly they pursued programs that increased government control of the economy and rewarded their political cronies (campaign contributors). Many have used government force to punish political dissent.
When the leader is enforcing a false premise or flawed agenda, ability will only insure disaster.
This is the president’s job:
1. Establish the agenda that the administration is to accomplish.
2. Create an administration composed of capable people to achieve that agenda.
3. Ensure that the progress of executing the agenda is progressing upon a satisfactory schedule and moving in the right direction.
4. Enhance the Administration to eliminate deficiencies and better execute the agenda.
Does Ms. Palin have the capacity to do this job?

No more candy-assed RINO’s – we need stones and common sense. We need the mentality of Christie and Walker times 10 and only Palin fits the bill. I don‘t care if she can’t get elected because Obama is probably not going to lose anyhow, so you may as well present a candidate that is the polar opposite of the Marxist to really give the American people contrast. I know this won’t change any Sarah Palin groupies minds, but I just love to pass along the truth on Sarah Palin.
Ladies and Gents,
I realize what I am going to say here is not going to be popular amongst this audience but please read carefully and see the truth in this post. I live in Wasilla AK. (right behind the Bogard Firestation on Endstrom Rd) I voted for Sarah Palin for Governor and before that I supported her run for mayor, however our town then did not include my area so I couldn’t actually vote. The above story contimplates a Sarah Palin run at the Presidency. I want everyone to do your homework.
Go Google 2 Alaska Bills, AGIA and ACES. They are both Palin signed and sealed, THey are both very much Bad for Alaska. I am not some knd of Sarah hater nor basher, I have tried for quite some time to get Sarah to explain these two bills in relation to her claim of conservatism, she has not reconciled the two yet. THe facts are there for the American people to read for themselves, Sarah made 2 very unwise choices, that have harmed Alaska and it’s economy, dramatically. If you do your homework on AGIA you will find that throughout the process Sarah made claims that it would promoter competition on the North Slope of Alaska. As much as Sarah is correct on the facts of Obamacare, she used the mechanism of Govt to Force competition,(which did not work up here)
which was all the rage of Obamacare. Well we see how much America likes Obamacare, and I am telling you all that Alaskans like AGIA even less. ACES is in simple terms a 400% tax increase on Alaska North Slope. Since ACES was signed by the good Sarah, there have been exactly ZERO exploritory wells drilled in my home state. The economy of Alaska is driven by Oil Production, and recourse development. We here in Alaska are beginning to fall by the way side of economic achievement because we have penalized our own economic model. This is a big deal, and no one outside Alaska seems to see it. I would ask that you all do your research.

Personally, I think she has strong character, but I need a smarter candidate, I worry about a country led by someone without an education. As the old song goes, you‘ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything. From your answers, it is pretty apparent that you will fall for anything the left wing throws at you. You say you are not for bankrupting our country yet fully support the major causes of our economic demise. 2/3 of the federal budget is mandatory spending. Mandatory spending includes Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, TARP, Other Mandatory, Interest Payments on the debt, etc. So, in the next couple of years interest rates will begin to increase to combat the inflation that is already happening. When that happens our interest on the debt payments will balloon. By 2012, you can expect interest payments to be as much as defense spending if not more. Yep, and according to your post quoted above, you fully support this path to bankruptcy. Cheers!!!!

Do you believe in the sovereignty of the states? Not over the fed. EVIDENTLY YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF WHY OUR FOUNDERS DESIGNED THE COUNTRY THE WAY THEY DID. USC Amendment X granted any rights not identified in the Constitution to states and individuals. The fed’s only duty was to act as mediator between states in any disputes.
Do you think the right to own a gun should be protected? Not over the safety of the citizenry. Yet we have plenty of data to demonstrate just how much crime skyrockets in gun ban areas and dramatically drops in right to carry areas. Wonder why that is?
Do you think tax dollars should be spent on abortion, Brazil’s petro industry, special interest groups, and the like? Too many things in there…what if to get a better deal on Brazil’s oil we loan them money…Special interest destroys our government, on the right and left. Abortion is settled law…drop it. EVIDENTLY YOU DON”T KNOW THAT BRAZIL EXPORTS NONE OF ITS OIL. AND OBAMA GRANTED PETROBRAZ A GULF DRILLING PERMIT SO THEY COULD TAKE IT BACK HOME WITH THEM. NO, ABORTION IS NOT A SETTLED LAW. IT IS ONLY A SUPREME COURT RULING THAT ANY OTHER SUPREME COURT CAN AND SHOULD OVERTURN, JUST AS THEY DID THE DRED SCOTT DECISION AND MANY OTHERS.
Do you think American industries can create jobs and fuel the economy? Yes. AND HOW SO? IT COSTS BUSINESS AN ADDITIONAL $1 BILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD A PLANT HERE JUST TO MEET THE FEDERAL REGULATION BURDENS. AND WE NOW HAVE THE HONOR OF HAVING THE HIGHEST CORPORATE TAX RATE IN THE WORLD. IF WE QUIT DEMONIZING BUSINESS AND CREATE A PRO-BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, SURE THEY WILL HIRE AND BUILD PLANTS BUT NOT BEFORE THAT ENVIRONMENT IS CREATED.
Do you really believe that the government can fuel the economy with no product? Yes, by creating the right environment for economic growth. AND YOU BELIEVE OBAMA AND CO IS CREATING THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT?
The salary for every additional government job that Obama creates has to be paid for with tax dollars or additional national debt, which depresses the economy. I agree that it has to be paid, I don’t agree that it is inherintly depressive.

Your last statement would be correct. However, it is more accurate to label good and evil. The good systems believes in reducing government interference in the economy and allowing room for expansion. In other words, get government out of the way. The evil system believes in big brother controlling everything. Make no mistake, that is exactly what Obama and Co are trying to accomplish. They are working hard to destroy America’s oil and gas industry and replace it with foreign enterprise, even enterprises that won’t export a drop of what they extract from our shores. Why sacrifice American jobs and industry for foreign countries? The short answer is it is George Soros’ bidding. He virtually bought out Petrobraz (a stake of more than $900 Million) Then Obama and Co lend them $2 Billion with an open ended agreement for more funds in the future. Yeah, let’s just give old George all the US natural resources. It is all about paying back his biggest contributors at the expense of the American people.
