Two Domino’s Pizza store managers apparently tried to put a definitive end to the “Domino‘s versus Papa John’s” debate when they allegedly set fire to one of their local rivals, burning it down so they would get more business.

Bryan David Sullivan
Store managers Sean Everett Davidson and Bryan David Sullivan were arrested on arson charges in Lake City, Fla. Thursday in connection with a fire that set a local Papa John’s store ablaze Oct. 20.
According to the Ocala Star-Banner, the fire was discovered shortly before 3 a.m. By the time it was brought under control, the store had been destroyed.
Police said Sullivan‘s motive was that the Domino’s location he managed would see an uptick in business if the Papa John’s restaurant was out of the picture.
The two were arrested after they told others of their plan.
“After the fire some people got nervous and we got some tips,” a Lake City police department spokesman told the Lake City Reporter.

Sean Everett Davidson
According to the Reporter, Domino‘s officials have been cooperative with authorities and there is no reason to think the store’s owner had prior knowledge of the plan.
The police spokesman said some of those interviewed by police lied about what they knew of the plot and slowed the investigation.
“If everybody had been honest from the beginning we would’ve solved this a whole lot quicker,” he said.
Investigators are still searching for the ignition device, the paper reported.

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 10:53pmJB, look it up. Domino’s is not a union owned company. It is a corporation. This is the act of a couple of idiots and has nothing to do with the ownership of Domino’s.

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 2:32pmI have a better idea… quit selling cardboard topped with crap and maybe people would frequent your business.
And idiots… barely making over minimum wage and they do this? That explains why they were working for a pizza joint. At least pull a Bernie Madoff. Make sure the crime is going to make you filthy rich.

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 2:31pmWhat ever happened to making a better pizza and letting the people decide? They should have brainstormed why they lose customers to their competitors. Maybe because they have better people that make pizzas. Means better chefs. Maybe their competition uses better ingredients. Maybe spend a little more on better dough and spices. Maybe people do not like how they are treated. Better personnel.

We should feel sorry that the system failed them. They shouldn’t go to jail. The were just practicing free enterprise as they’ve come to know it. If Barrack Obama,Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, etal can burn down the American economy, why can’t they burn down one little pizza joint? It only seems fair.
