Donald Trump Officially Endorses Mitt Romney for President

Donald Trump Officially Endorses Mitt Romney for PresidentDonald Trump officially endorsed Mitt Romney for president, quelling conflicting media reports about which candidate the business mogul would back: Romney or former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Standing beside the former Massachusetts governor at his luxury Las Vegas hotel Thursday, Trump called it his “honor and privilege to endorse Mitt Romney.”

“Mitt is tough, he’s smart, he’s sharp. He’s not going to allow bad things to continue to happen to this country that we love,” Trump said.

Earlier in the day, Trump had said it was Romney’s performance during the GOP debates and his tough stance on China that won him over, the Associated Press reported.

“Governor Romney? Go out and get ‘em. You can do it,” Trump said.

Taking the podium following Trump’s announcement, Romney said, “There are some things that you just can’t imagine happening in your life. This is one of them.”

“Being in Donald Trump’s magnificent hotel and having his endorsement is a delight,” he said. “And of course I’m looking forward to the endorsement of the people of Nevada.”

In an interview on Fox News Channel immediately following the announcement, Trump told host Neil Cavuto Romney has “really stepped up” on the issues during the campaign.

Asked whether his endorsement means there is officially no chance of Trump seeking his own presidential bid, Trump said it depends on whether Romney gets the GOP presidential nomination. Trump has repeatedly toyed with the idea of seeking the presidency himself as a third-party candidate.

“If for some reason something happens [and Romney doesn't get the nomination] then it’s open season,” he said. “[But] I don’t see that happening.”

Just another reason I don’t like Mitt.

It is sad that if we pick a Rhino, lady liberty will lose and arm, We the people can still fight with one arm. But if BHO get’ s 4 more she will lose her head, and we all know what happens then.

Agreed…Mr. Petulant tells us that he wont run as an independent if Romney wins the Republican nomination. I have been a Republican for my entire life….I am getting to be so fed up with the Republican Party, and the “know it alls” who tell us how we should vote…and after Romney’s vicious attacks on Newt Gingrich in Florida, I am inclined to just sit this one out……

They are just having fun and making money while selecting the opposition to BHO. It has been proven that money wins these things. It has been proven that the politics of personal destruction works. So, just try to have fun while the eventual loser is selected. BHO – 4 more years – in the bag! US – in the bag – done deal! OH yeah, I heard the American Mostakateers chipering away when thew thought it was Newt Gingrich, as the weasel he is leaking false information once again. SO you tell me then their seniorita’s, who is your choice for Captain that can actually beat Obama ?……. Actually, you know what, I won’t wait for your answer because there is no other candidate. I know, in you illusionary state where you actually believe you are the only people on the planet and it totally slips your mind that somehow Obama was able to get more than 50% of the vote last election to win, but this country is comprised of great many other different points of views. Some, I like and support, some I don’t, but regardless, they are what makes up the whole of America. Maybe I have a bit more insight being in college at the age of 36, maybe because I am well traveled and have lived a life exposing to many aspect of this country, I do understand that my hillbillies ideals I grew up with in the woods of Pennsylvania, aren’t the end all be all of the American way. I do know this though, of the candidates standing, Romney is the only one who has even a chance of beating Obama. Even the youth on Right are confused because the party is so rigidly constructed, with different avenues strongly holding onto to different ideals. Why you people can’t just get on board and support the next President of the United States is beyond me. Hey, I won’t ever knock ya for not being loyal though, that’s for sure,

Here are some of the A-Bombs about to come down on Romney by the DNC/Meadia. Besides of course Romney Care wich is bad and known:
1*Romney is a John F. Karey robot elitest.
2*Romney is a Morman; they will explore this in the most disgusting ways imaginable.
3*Romney’s Grandfather and Father were born in Mexico in a Polymgamist Mormon compound.
All of the investigators that went to Wassilla are there now .
4*Birther alert—Romney’s dad ran for president of the United States and by all accounts (including Mitt) he was born in Mexico. Remember there is always a double standard.
5*Romney’s cousins including cousins with the Romney name still live in the Polygamist compound in Mexico. BTW they are being interviewed thoroughly now by the Wassilla crew. Yes, American women are going to love this. I am even going to be in trouble with my wife too. What did I do.
6*There is a new series reality show coming out on Polygamists this fall. What are the chances?
7*Romney has a Camen and Swiss bank account.

Guys, I really do not know if Romney is electable.

      @ Patrick Henry

*1*Romney is a John F. Karey robot elitest.

Not true. I want you to go look into Romney’s church service. Not an elitist. Especially look into Harvard Business Professor Clayton Christensen’s blog about why he is a Mormon. He tells of Romney showing up to his place to help him move after having shoulder sugery. He couldn’t carry much, and was in a lot of pain, but he did what he could. What does that tell us about Romney’s character? No elitist would do that. An elitist would hire someone else.

2*Romney is a Morman; they will explore this in the most disgusting ways imaginable.

The Mormon (look at how it is spelled) Church can stand on its own. It always has, and always will. Bad press has never hurt the Church.

3*Romney’s Grandfather and Father were born in Mexico in a Polymgamist Mormon compound.
All of the investigators that went to Wassilla are there now .

Yes, but their parents were U.S. citizens, thus making them U.S. citizens. There is no merit to this argument or to your reasoning. Especially since John McCain (and there are still questions about Obama) were born outside of the U.S. There is also no merit to the people who are claiming that they were illegal immigrants. They were citizens and had the right to come and go across the border as they pleased.

4*Birther alert—Romney’s dad ran for president of the United States and by all accounts (including Mitt) he was born in Mexico. Remember there is always a double standard.

See reply to #3. You are repeating yourself. No merit to your argument. He was a U.S. citizen. John McCain was born in Panama. Double standard?

5*Romney’s cousins including cousins with the Romney name still live in the Polygamist compound in Mexico. BTW they are being interviewed thoroughly now by the Wassilla crew. Yes, American women are going to love this. I am even going to be in trouble with my wife too. What did I do.

Romney is not responsible for the choices and decisions made by family members, especially cousins. Romeny is measured by his own life and accomplishments – not by his cousins accomplishments. Many presidents have/had questionable relatives. Again, your statement has no merit.

6*There is a new series reality show coming out on Polygamists this fall. What are the chances?

Jeesh, have you not watched much television lately? There have been a number of shows for the last 5-6 years. Polygamy isn’t about Mormonism.

7*Romney has a Camen and Swiss bank account.

Well, if you had worked hard and were intelligent enough to earn and invest as well as Romney, you would also need a number of different bank accounts around the world to safegaurd your money. Most people of wealth and intelligence do this.

So, I think you need to think some

The other 3 are NOT going to win and we need to unite as a party.
Moderates, Tea Partyers, Hard-Core conservatives.. we need ALL your votes to get BHO out.
Romney has his flaws, as does EVERYONE, but he is not only the best chance to beat Obama, but also the best person to turn our nation’s economy around.
Does it really matter that he’s more moderate than a Santorum? Is that minor difference REALLY going to make a difference in the White House? Come on.. get real. Mitt has the economic sense to aid America in a rebound and that is the single biggest issue facing the US in 2012.
Jobs, the Economy & Immigration: a 3 fold issue that Mitt can fix.

Totally agree. What makes me mad though, and I used to like Glenn, that Glenn Beck is trashing Newt 24/7 while supporting RINO Mitt. Glenn was drowning in alcohol when Newt was fighting for conservative causes. Sure he did miscalculate when he shut down gov. in mid 1990s. Sure, he sat with Pelosi on couch to make commercial about global warming. He is now saying that was stupid mistake. Newt did not govern from the left and that’s big difference. Mitt provided Osama Obama with blueprint for Obamacare. Mitt governed from the left. Now Beck says Newt is progressive. Glenn, it is time to go back to drinking. Hannity did not do a follow-up question to Mr. Romney that if Newt Gingrich had taken Florida would he have questioned the way the votes are supposed to go. Good journalism is it not? I do expect to hear more from Ron Paul and Rick Santorum on this matter as they will only benefit if the votes were supposed to be proportional but once again they will blame Newt Gingrich and label him as an angry old man wake up people you are being led down the path to socialism.

Thought, Donald Trump valued loyalty ?

When he was going to conduct the Newsmax debate,
the ONLY one, agreeing to show up…was Gingrich.

All the others, including Willard Romney, embarrassingly, blew him off.

Trump says, he “likes” this one & that one
and assumes, his word, carries a lot of weight.

    Really ?

It seems Trump can now, consider it, a lot of DEAD weight.

NO longer, interested in ANYTHING he says or does.

Truly, how LOYAL is a man, who claims, “LOYALTY” is everything
and then, endorses a lying, conniving, negative, RNC dirtbag
who had NO problem “dissing” Trump’s debate ?

To make matters worse, the RNC establishment
had NO use for Trump or his political opinion.

Karl Rove & all the RNC, talking empty-heads, particularly, insulted Trump.

Gotta’ say, always stood by the Trumpster,
but this development is PURE nonsense.

He’s NOW, off the American Peoples’ radar….forever !
Put him on the “SHUN LIST”, right after Ann Coulter.

ANY sane person can research Willard Romney
and EASILY, declare him, the LEAST “Conservative” candidate of all !
What will their excuse be, if Willard becomes the nominee
& loses to Obama….as WE all predicted ?

Gingrich is STILL the BEST Leader for America-
Palin & the people are on his side
and THAT’S the definition of TRUE Loyalty !

I happen to think this endorsement will make very little difference, except that, since Romney is the likely nominee, we can be sure we won’t have a third-party candidate splitting the vote to elect Obama. But, loyalty? Really? As someone else pointed out, how can he be “loyal” to both the candidates who agreed to attend? And, both of them did it because they didn’t have any money and it was a chance to get exposure.

If Trump had based his endorsement on who it was that showed him, personally, the most respect, he would have looked more self-interested and silly than usual.

Oh but you missed the BEST earlier… When The Blaze thought he was endorsing Newt they had this HORRIBLE picture of Trump and this awful article following… Funny, how this endorsement of Mitt is presented 180 degrees differently. I guess the squirrel on Trumps head went to gather his nuts!
I don’t know what is worse, Glenn claiming That the truth has no agenda, or that he actually thinks we are too stupid to see it!

“Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” I’m with Michelle Malkin, and for all of the reasons she gave: Rick Santorum is the best of the bunch. Has anyone noticed just how carefully the media avoids referring to him? Why is that? With these people it’s always Newt vs Romney with a little Ron Paul thrown in for comic relief. Santorum is ignored. LISTEN TO HIM and note that what he says is the same as what he does and has done. What you see is what you get; not so with Newt or Romney who will say whatever is necessary to get you vote.

Amen! We MUST CONVINCE Newt to UNITE WITH Santorum and SUPPORT HIM – including Newt’s endorsers (the Hermanator, et al). I’m NOT following the “by God Mitt Romney is your nominee and you’re gonna LIKE it” campaign! Skrewem.

Santorum is most likely done in the next week or so. He’s broke, and has lost steam and support. He did an interview for the local news here in Denver, and his body language looked as if he believed himself he was done.

By the way, Colorado wholeheartedly went the way of Romney in 2008. Except for the evangelical Colorado Springs area – which is likely to happen again. They just can’t get past their bigotry.

Amen. I love Santorum and wish he could get more steam. It‘s really frustrating living in an area that doesn’t vote in the primary until after the candidate is chosen. I donated to Rick because it was the only way I could see to help him. We need to get a hold on the RNC and tell them to make the primary system more fair. How about 4 or 5 “Super Tuesdays” that would cover the whole country.

Imagine that… 2 people who have achieved, on their own, the financial pinacle all of us have dreamed about agreeing with each other. They know how business works, how to create jobs and how to seperate the talkers from the do’ers. Mitt will win this election and get America back on the right track. If you don’t believe that… go back home to your parents basement and shut up! Your government check should of come in anyway so be happy.

Hey, dude,…. I’ve been around awhile, I take the time to research and study this stuff (for the last 3-4 years particularly), and I PAY ATTENTION to EVERYTHING that’s going on. YOU are the one who is falling into (not “jumping on”) the RINOREPUB bandwagon – review what’s been going on in DC and by those who are A PART OF DC (Rove, Coulter, Krauthammer, etc.). You vote for Mitt (I’m the newest company man”) Romney and you will see virtually NO meaningful forward movement from the gub’mint. Sad that most folks are not bright enough to connect the dots! Good luck!

How to create jobs do you know how private equity firms work? Have you not heard Donald Trump talk about how bad the economy is and how great it is for him to buy up firms land houses businesses it’s ripe for the pickings because I have the money to do so. Private equity firms just so happened to go in when a company is hurting arrange investors inflate the stock price then pull their profits out at a handsome price. Did they create jobs no the jobs were already there but because the new firms came in and streamline the business on most occasions jobs were lost or hours reduced or benefits cut to retain the profitability of said corporation.

It’ll be interesting by the end of all this (huge changes coming, folks) to see who actually maintains his/her principles. So far about the only one I’d THINK of betting on is Michelle Malkin.
