Donald Trump Doesnt Like His Sons Hunting on African Safari

After shocking photos emerged of Donald Trump‘s two sons’ — Eric and Donald Jr. — hunting expedition while on safari in Africa, the outspoken media personality and real estate mogul spoke out in an interview with CNN‘s AJ Hammer. Trump’s sons have been receiving harsh press over the incident. Below, Trump explained that while his sons are excellent hunters, he is “not thrilled” at all over their hunting of these exotic creatures:

I agree, however, I would go so far as to say that he is just an instinctual predator and will do whatever it takes to keep himself rolling in dough. Right now there is a battle in Texas between the anti-hunters and the exotic animal breeders and owners. The breeders bankroll their entire operation off of the capital earned from selling hunts to people with the highest bids. These hunts are quite literally saving numerous exotic species from Africa. In alot of cases, there are actually more of the animals in Texas than in Africa due to the demand and proper care given to animals when people are able to own them as they would any other livestock.

However, I think that if you are a hunter, you should eat what you kill. So if you kill a giraffe, you better have a damn big freezer or jerky recipe. People who just take their trophy and leave are just distasteful and unappreciative of what nature has provided them.

@SGTB All the meat is eaten by the local people It is not wasted…Plus hunters provide Jobs for local people..Typical safari employs A Pro Hunter as guide,a cook ,2 trackers and maid ,to clean and do laundry at camp..believe me these people are happy to work for hunters..

That said, the African Jaguar is the most dangerous game to hunt on earth. I’ve restrained wounded deer by hand in the past, but a wounded Jaguar will hunt YOU if when you attempt to track it. Most PH‘s won’t even let a client go after a wounded Jag, they do it themselves with a 12ga, because when they find it, it’s usually when it ambushes you.
I’ve been hunting my entire life, and my .280 Browning A-bolt has never let me down on any North American game. But African game doesn’t even compare. By law, the minimum caliber you can hunt with is .375 H&H, and .416 Rigby or above is preferred. There IS a reason for that!

Hunting in Africa consists of an African guide making next to nothing taking you around in a jeep, getting you 30 ft away from the animal so you can pull the trigger and call yourself a hunter. Its pathetic. Whats more pathetic is how much money some Americans will spend for that photo opp.

Trump is no longer relevant. It is too bad he has to air family laundry. I’m envious of his son. I would LOVE to hunt in Africa! I have friends from Nairobi and they tell me that their economy loves the hunters because of the money they bring in and how they help with managing the herds of game animals. If vegetarians ruled the world we would have starving animals, massive extinctions and mankind would dwindle to scrawny, sickly little spectres running from shadows . . . like Democrats!

Matter of fact, 20 years ago or so, National Geo. did a story on how govt. troops were out killing poachers, just so the money guys could come in and hunt.

True. If you ever watch African hunting shows on tv, look for the guy in the back of the group, usually carrying a Glock sidearm and either a slung AK or FN-FAL….that guy isn’t there to hunt, he’s there to guard the party against poachers they may encounter, who WILL engage you if they feel you’re encroaching their territory, or a witness. Poaching is really no different than drug-lord-ing, you stake out a territory and viciously and violently defend it.

“Today Romney asked people how they pronounce Missouri”

Yeah, he better ask. You pronounce it incorrectly we’ll never let your Yankee ass live it down, and that goes for everyone. It is Missour-E…and if I remember correctly we had a state-wide vote not so long ago to establish a State-endorsed standard pronunciation.
We pronounce everyone else’s State correctly, so the least they can do is suck up enough self-respect to return the favor. Although, occasionally I do use a French pronunciation for ‘Illinois” (Illi-noir), since they resemble a European country more than a US State when you consider their bankruptcy, extreme citizen and business and tax burden, and their blatant (and ruled illegal by the Supreme Court) suppression of Constitutional rights. (See “McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U.S. 3025 (2010))
Hopefully, someday, backwards-states such as California, Illinois, and New York will join the rest of us in the new Millennium…

When you think about recent Presidential history, you’ll realize that, based on our last three consecutive Presidents, Romney is not qualified for the job, for these reasons:
      1) He hasn’t publicly admitted to past drug use
      2) He hasn’t been sued for multiple sexual harassments

Think about it: Clinton, Bush ‘42, and Obama have all admitted to past illegal drug use, and Clinton was sued several times by women he worked around, they won, and he’s paid millions in settlements. This is not a good thing.

I think it’s a quite unsettling commentary on our society that we finally get a candidate with no history of personal vices…and we think there’s something WRONG with that.

When did being respectable make you abnormal?

Romney & grits. In the 60′s(Mt.) & starting out, times were tough & I learned that since I had a watch with a second hand, I could “hock-it” & get $6.00 so I would buy grits/homny/chicken-wings(cheap-food those days). When I got paid, would go back to the pawn-shop & get back my watch..of course a shark-charge but hey, when you got to eat…Maybe it is the memory but haven’t eaten grits/homny since & chicken-wings very rarely & has to have tons of barbeque sauce on them.LOL I still am on a budget & like most people, watch my spending. Alittle off the subject but in the 60′s, homeowners insurance, $25.00 deductible on losses & people would put in a claim for a broken window..alot of variables why rates have gone up yr after yr but insurance should be for CATASTROPHIES..not household maintanance. So, on my belief, I paid cash for my flu shot this year and I am now on medicare. I can afford the $25.00 price & will not hit up Medicare/seconday policy. I am just doing my part & beliefs to help medicare costs. If you think that is stupid, fine..I don’t care!

Leaving those who are unable to hunt for themselves to die while the providers moved on is also a tradition dating back hundreds of thousands of years. That’s evolution, removing the useless from the gene pool. Having strayed from this tradition, if the electricity disappeared altogether today and we reverted to a 19th century-era lifestyle, the human population would decline by several billion in only a year, because the vast majority of humans today are so far removed from where they came from that it’s impossible for them to get back.

The picture of the son holding the elephant’s cut of tail reminded me of a “Far Side” cartoon. An elephant with a bandaged-up leg stump is in a phone booth, talking on the phone. OK, that’s a Cape Buffalo, not water buffalo…no water buffalo in Africa. The elephant’s tail is to establish ownership of the elephant. This is an ancient tradition/law and in fact, if you do not take care of the tail and someone else has it and claims ownership of it, THEY win!

Very few people actually know what life is like in Africa. And very few people know how truly in the fence the wildlife if from being eradicated as pests by people’s farms and housing. The FACT is that the money made in these areas from hunters dollars goes to pay for and to protect the land where these animals live. Only a very few are killed and yes for high prices because keeping the land wild, even in Africa is an uphill battle. Also the money goes to pay for anti-poaching squads. Eliminate these funds and the animals everyone cares for so deeply will be done, period. You can thank the Chinese, the Yemeni‘s and Omani’s for the extinction of the rhino, they STILL poach then for their horn and dagger handles. They fly in helicopters, kill the rhino, cut the horn and fly out.

Unless these people who are crying their eyes out are donating the kind of money (ten’s of thousands of dollars) that EACH hunter pays for their safari, they need to simply shut their ill-informed mouths.

Reminds me of a letter sent by an English boy (no doubt encouraged by his parent & teachers) to a govt official in Malaysia back in the 1980′s. The letter asked that Malaysia not cut down its rain forests because the kid wanted to study animals in the rain forest when he grew up. The Malaysian sent the kid a letter saying that his country needs to provide jobs and economic growth and “how would you like it if someone were to tear down your nice house in England to bring back the forest so that some Malaysian boy can study bears and wolves in England when he grows up?” Some folks were upset at the Malaysian’s response — probably because it was so spot-on.
