Don‘t Mess With This Bar’s Regulars: Armed Robber Gets Ignored Then Chased and Tackled

Here’s the way a holdup is supposed to go: Armed robber enters establishment and demands money. Patrons cover heads and cry. Proprietor graciously hands over the cash saying he just doesn’t want anybody to get hurt. Robber makes awkward sideways run to the door so as not to get tackled from behind and makes off scot-free until police catch up with him five minutes later.
This is not what happened at all in a pub located in the Netherlands recently. Not only was the gun-wielding robber not greeted with the expected screams of fear or the brave hero trying to calm him down before cowering on the ground himself, but he was completely ignored and couldn’t even muscle a pack of cigs from the crowd. Apparently, the regulars of this Rotterdam bar won’t let anything get in the way of their brewskis.

Watch the footage and interview with the pub owner:
As the clip shows, once the robber realized he wasn’t getting anything from the crowd — not even a second glance — he took off. That’s when the group decided to take action, leaving the bar to catch the would-be robber. They turned him over to the authorities.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 10:26amOne well armed citizen could have avoided the chance of someone being injured or killed. Oh, I forgot, only criminals are armed ! How stupid of me !

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 10:21amAmericans used to be that way and would still be brave and unrelenting in times like that except for one thing,….lawyers. Americans think twice about coming to the aid of friends and business owners because of some shyster lawyer suing on behalf of the criminal. Perhaps you would use ‘excessive force’ in chasing him out. Maybe you would go to far and actually engage in fisticuffs and you might hurt him. He would sue the patrons and the bar owner and you for interrupting his robbery. Afterall, had you all cooperated no one would have been hurt or inconvenienced. Lawyers have ruined America in many ways and their power needs to be curtailed drastically. Common sense must prevail.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 8:54amSounds like they took a cue from richmonders. We had someone try and rob one of our resstaurants[steak and egg].He went in during dinner rush.It didn’t work to well for him either. He however got a better reception though. The waitress told him she was too busy and that she would get to him when she could. He walked out the door mouth agape in shock.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 8:37am@AVIGDOR. Watch the video again. My point is, the patrons stupidly, placidly, ignored this guy, and in just a few seconds, he could have wreaked havoc. They are LUCKY he hesitated for so long, and now they feel like heroes, when in fact it could have been “too little, too late”. Gotta raise the situational awareness, just a tad.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 7:08amBut the Netherlands has strict gun laws, people don’t use guns in crimes in countries with strict gun laws. Somebody needs to have Debbie Unwashed Schlitzcan explain how tightening our gun laws would prevent such events. We can see that having a law didn’t stop this criminal, the patrons did.

Live in a Socialist Nation and you will live in escapism unless you are on the law making side of the equasion. Misery reigns in places like this.
But I am sure you are some spoiled rotten puke that will wake up pretty soon when you cant access your iPhone or Internet when you want to. You will see how Socialism has ruined your Country pretty soon. The land of plenty will soon be the land of misery.
