Doomsday Preacher Harold Camping Suffers Stroke

Doomsday Preacher Harold Camping Suffers StrokeALAMEDA, Calif. (The Blaze/AP) — The California radio preacher who predicted that the end of the world would take place last month has suffered a stroke.

The Oakland Tribune reports that 89-year-old Harold Camping was hospitalized after suffering the stroke Thursday night at his Alameda home.

Charles Menut, a regional manager for Harold Camping’s radio company, Family Stations Inc., told supporters about Camping’s stroke in an online message posted Saturday. Menut gave no other details.

However, according to a CBS source, Camping is suffering from slurred speech:

The unnamed neighbor said she had spoken with Camping’s wife Shirley on Friday and was told the radio evangelist is doing “OK,“ although his speech is ”a little bit slurred.”

Family Radio is expected to give an update on Camping’s condition on Monday.

“Please just pray for him and do not try to contact anyone at his home or Family Radio,” a regional manager for Camping’s radio company said in a statement, according to Foxnews.com.

Camping’s radio company spent more than $100 million publicizing the evangelist’s Rapture prediction over the past seven years. When it didn’t happen on May 21, Camping was widely mocked and he called it “a very difficult time.”

He has insisted that his prediction was correct and said the end would become apparent on October 21 instead.

Poor, misguided man. Hope the Lord sees you through this illness, and opens your eyes to His timeline of when events will occur (and not yours!).

Since his mind was corrupted by lies, it is not unusual for his mind, his brain, to be struck down, as well as being very old. I hope and pray that he will be able to repent and confess to the world that he is a false prophet. “If we confess our faults one to another, we shall be healed”.
When we confess our faults verbally, it does a lot of good. It will bring a lot more healing to those who were misled and deceived. I don’t blame Camping for the ignorance of those who followed him and believed his lies. They had the opportunity to read and seek God for the truth for their own personal relationship with Christ. When a person does not have a personal relationship and they are being religious, these are the people who come into great danger of being deceived.

Sounds like the end of the world is for him personally. This man has put his self in the place of God by predicting the End time. The bible calls these people “false prophets.” Better get it right with the Lord, Harold while you still have a mind and can pray.

Sounds like dimentia to me, that was setting in on old Harold. Why do they give a guy with dimentia and now a stroke the medium to tell people stupid stuff??? That is when they drink the Kool Aid and die……..I am sure he does not know what he has done, or is doing. What about all the money the minions collected toward the cause (supposed marketing)??? Tell me that! in my book, it was the use of an elder man to trick people into giving money and then they tell him that the advertising was expensive and we spent it all and can’t give it back! Right!! Are they collecting money for the new date!!?? I heard that some people gave all they had to the marketing cause….How sad…

Guys~~~ Come on. This man is old and feeble, and yes he made a mistake a big one. And, yes, he will meet his Maker probably sooner than later.

However, if you want to get into GOD and HIS vengeance, let’s be looking at soros, at obama, at pelosi, at reed, at the clintons, at all the people right now in the world and at all the organizations in the world who are at war with and working against our GOD, THE ONLY GOD. Let‘s be looking at people out to destroy GOD’s two chosen countries~~~ THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ISRAEL. There‘s where you can expect to see GOD’s vengeance ~~~ in spades! Look into your own lives. Have you made room for GOD? No? Now would be a real good time to be about some personal housekeeping, I think.

Even so, come LORD JESUS, amen.

How many people’s life were ruined by this man? How many people sold or gave away everything they owned and donated it to his organization and quit their jobs, although why his organization would need money after the rapture confuses me. Since he is a man of religion, let me reference the Bible which he says he believes in. There is a passage in there that says that no man will know the time of the rapture. How arrogant of him to believe that it mean no man but him. It is either arrogance or a lack of faith in the Bible. There is also a warning about false prophets. To give a theory that is accordance with his belief system, maybe God is punishing him for his transgressions and lack of humility.

@ Vickie – Can’t agree with you on this one. Harold Camping might have a personal relationship with God, but unless he’s asked God to forgive him for duping rather stupid people out of their money with his gnostic “prophecy,” God’s going to have plenty to say to this guy on Judgement Day. He‘s going to have plenty to say to those who fell prey to Camping’s gnostic teaching too, because they did not test the spirits nor seek wise counsel.

It is just the “normal” route of events, he was 89,
and I am sure had no small amount of pressure these last few weeks.
Stroke is a result of that.
      It IS Ironic though.
Perhaps it gives him time to get it straight and make his peace.

I would be hesitant to attribute this to God though.

Yes, we are to Judge the truth of things that are said and done for ourselves,
ans as it applies to our lives, but
Judging him is not our job description.

That said, his prophesy was false by definition.
I hope he gets the message while he has time.
