These 911 calls were much more horrible to hear on fox news today. You could hear the bloodcurdling screams & crying in the background. I will have nightmares. Reality hits hard.

The left is losing the argument, and they hope this will keep people from hearing what the right has to say. We should not be worried about what is said, we need to worry about why he was able to do this.

Does anyone know the date when Loughner posted his youtube word-salad non-sense? He also recently was suspended from a community college.

“The suspect was suspended from a Tucson community college in October after what the school said were multiple run-ins with campus police that led to his suspension.”

I’m wondering if these events were planted in advance in order to plead and sustain an insanity defense. If the youtube postings were recent, and the college suspension was recent, and acquaintances verify that he was not always nuts,… this insanity evidence may have been planted ahead of time.

There are no answers yet but according to the media they have it all wrapped up. We don’t have an unbiased media anymore and it shows really bad with this tradgedy. When the Muslim extremist killed so many at Fort Hood, they said to waite and don’t judge by what you hear but now it is all the Tea Party and that says it all. They are so biased that they are falling all over themselves to get in on this one. The Mother of the little girl knows the truth, a MADMAN killed her daughter and He will have to answer and I’ll bet He is convicted faster than the muslim. He still hasn’t faced justice, Why??

And the news-worthy value of the 911 calls is what?

Are we satisfying the morbid fascination that it was someone else who dies and not the folks reading this blog? I always thought publishing 911 calls was completely senseless. It is the “why” behind the event that is important. The question to ask yourself is this. Would this event have occurred fifty years ago unless perpetrated by some radical, leftist group such as something or someone Thee Obama now celebrates.

Law enforcement has to be requested for an event, then scheduled. Look to Giffords staffers for the answers as to why there were no officers there.

If I am the Sheriff, I don’t care if there is a request or not. High profile is high profile and I would want to at least have the patrol assigned to that area planted there. He is on record stating that he believes the atmosphere in his jurisdiction is volatile. He is not helpless- He is the Sheriff.

If the staffers had really pushed the issue they would have had someone there, I just wonder if they even asked….that was my point. In my city, all a patrolman can do without being assigned to an event is make his usual routine rounds. Unfortunately the sheriff was not there himself, and from the display he made at the first news conference, I would say he has some guilt and he agrees with you.

Did not mean to slight you if you felt I did. I just feel very strongly on this. The simple deterrent of just one deputy can stop a lunatic from acting on any given day. Would have it stopped this tragedy? We will not know. If not targeted first, one trained officer could have at least limited the carnage. It is sadly done now. May we learn to take simple precautions in a complicated world.

The first thing they teach you when you carry concealed is not to open fire in a crowd…are you nuts? The guy was subdued by two bystanders and they got him, so didn’t that work out better than a gun battle in a shopping center parking lot?

Even if you don’t do guns, everyone should take a couple basic classes in close contact self defense. We all must help protect each others backs. Two thumbs up for the woman who took him on while he was trying to do a magazine change–who knows how many more would have died if he had reloaded! Again, even if you don’t like guns, knowledge of how they function can save lives.

Why did they have to call 911??? Why was there no Police/Sheriff presence at this open political event?? It is unconscionable to me (25 year Law Enforcement Officer) that one patrol unit was not assigned as just a matter of routine! It was an event involving a Representative of the United States House of Representatives!!!! I believe the Sheriff should have some very very hard questions coming to him.

Something really fell through the cracks in this case; even basic security precautions may have made a difference. However, the fact of one lone nutjob is often shown to be the one threat that is hard to totally stop in all cases.

I have been told the shooter had waited in line to speak with her and then when not liking a answer by her commenced shooting at point blank range. Mind you, this is just based on what news stations have been saying lately.

Our representatives have been holding these congress on the corner events for years…this is the first time something like this has ever happened. So in my opinion no police presence was necessary…as usual one whacko screws up life for the rest of us. Most of the local politicians out here do it…mayors, state reps, etc.
If you are not aware of Arizona, or Arizonans why do you make such statements. This event was being held in a fairly upscale part of Tucson, not some slum.

Wow, good way to try and twist this on to the Sheriff because you don’t like him now because he made a statement that all conservatives are attributing to themselves even though he never stated a group or person. Thus by attributing it to themselves they are making it obvious that they know what they are doing.
