Dramatic Video: Palestinians Ambush Jewish Drivers with Rocks and Bricks

AFP captured this photo of large rocks thrown at Israeli teacher's car
A dramatic rock and brick-wielding ambush captured on tape last week was broadcast on Israel’s Channel 10 television news (video below). Zehava Weiss, an Israeli teacher who lives in the settlement Karmei Tzur, was on the receiving end of the barrage and found herself in a scary situation on her way home from work last Tuesday.
Channel 10 reports that the rock throwers along the road to Beit Ummar in the West Bank choose their targets carefully: waiting for cars to get close enough to see if the driver is Palestinian – in which he gets a pass – or an Israeli who gets the rock and brick treatment.
Weiss, whose car was captured by an AFP photographer in the photo above, told Channel 10, “I heard them. I saw them. I saw the murder in their eyes.”
Weiss described her harrowing experience to Israeli blogger Yisrael Medad, and questioned the ethics of the news photographers:
I observed a man running across the road from right to left. I first thought that this was a soldier with a rifle and I slowed down to grasp what was happening. I then noticed dozens of people, old, young and teenagers, congregating on my right. It then became apparent that the “soldier with a rifle” was actually a photographer with a camera. He was seeking a better picture angle to snap away at what was about to happen. On my left were at least two other photographers, waiting for the action. I should emphasize that I was not the first victim and other cars had already been stoned and so these press photographers were well aware what was happening and was about to happen to me. None of them, it seems, thought to call for assistance from the police or IDF none of whom were present.
Knowing I had no choice but to continue and surely not stop for otherwise, if I had slowed down, I would have been trapped and blocked off, the only thing in my mind was to proceed home and not get caught at that crossing. It was difficult to pass through as the rocks came from a distance of just a few feet from the car, ‘zero-range’ as we say. The rioters clearly could see that the car contained two young females, defenceless. We were struck by many rocks, my view was blocked by the cracked glass and I simply concentrated on getting out of there as quickly as I could. At the time, as well as at this moment of writing, I did not fully grasp the danger of our situation.
It was only when I arrived home that I realized the entire front of the car was covered with shattered glass particles including me, the infant seat, the back seat, everything. There was also damage caused to the sides of the car. At least eight large rocks and blocks had hit my car.
Jewish settlers report that such rock attacks are a nearly daily occurrence in Judea and Samaria, but their being captured on film is rare. In September, the IDF reported a 33% increase in Palestinian stoning attacks. The Israel Police reported that 100 Palestinians were arrested for throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles only in January and February. These attacks can be deadly.
Last year, 25-year-old Asher Palmer and his infant son Yonatan were killed by Palestinian rock-throwers who caused their car to overturn on a highway near the Israeli settlement Kiryat Arba. Pua Palmer, Asher’s wife and Yonatan’s mother – gave birth in January to a baby girl.
Luckily for Zehava Weiss, aware of the potential danger, she had reinforced windshields on her car, which may have saved her life.

Did Paul even know who those men were when taking those photos? Paul takes hundreds of photos with unkown attendees at his rallies. Paul has never even been associated with any one of them, personally or indirectly. Paul’s campaign never received money from Stormfront. The donation of $500 came from the founder, Don Black. Black has repeatedly said he doesn’t think Paul is a “white nationalist”. Black said he supports Paul’s stance on ending the war in Iraq, securing our borders and his opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants. Nothing racist there.
Let’s consider this. In 2008, who do you think racists voted for? McCain or Obama? Do you think McCain ever returned any donation or forbade them from supporting his candidacy? No, he didn’t. In this country, we have free and open elections. And there is not one thing a candidate can do to stop a Citizen from voting, and supporting his candidacy.
Paul was among a very few in congress to support Israel‘s attack on Iraq’s nuclear facilities in 1981. He believes in Israel’s sovereignty, self defense and self determination.

Donors who give less than $200 to a campaign are not required to disclose their employer or occupation. It is nearly impossible to investigate where all these donations come from.
In 2007 when the donation from Black was identified, Paul spokesman Jesse Benton said, “Dr. Paul stands for freedom, peace, prosperity and inalienable rights. If someone with small ideologies happens to contribute money to Ron, thinking he can influence Ron in any way, he’s wasted his money. Ron is going to take the money and try to spread the message of freedom.”

In 2007, he kept a donation from Don Black, Stormfront’s founder and a former Klu Klux Klan grandmaster who was convicted of trying to overthrow the Dominican government back in 1981. Black endorsed Paul for Congress, and the Stormfronters have been on board with the Paul campaign ever since. The same year, he told PBS‘s Now that he didn’t want white supremacists’ support, but that their donations “were a good thing because I got their money away from them.” But he was also photographed with a man widely reported to be Don Black in 2007.
It‘s true that politicians can’t explicitly choose who votes for them. But they can certainly reject support. As American Thinker pointed out, that’s what President George H.W. Bush did when former Klan leader David Duke ran for governor of Louisiana as a Republican in 1991. Paul’s been silent on his Stormfront support this time around.

I‘m curious about why I don’t hear you running your trap when it comes to celebrating black history month, asian , native, jewish, hispanic, women, gay and lesbian month, etc and so forth. Everyone should celebrate their ethnicity with pride but if a white person says well maybe I can be proud of my ethnicity then they should be scorned ridiculed and marginalized?
Please people, I know that there is an almost overwhelming propaganda effort out there that would have you ignore disregard and even be ashamed of your ethnicity.. Please don’t take the bait. We are the true minority on this planet and we have every right celebrate our contributions to society. This enormous propaganda effort against our people has practically destroyed every last vestige of honor valor and accomplishment which we had once acquired.
The effort has been so successful that we have basically lost our sense of who we are as a people while other ethnicities are increasingly benefiting from a self awareness which is promoted and fostered by all because it’s obviously a good thing.
Yes today if you are aware of your whiteness then you are an evil person and the Media perpetuates a hatred for all us who desire to promote awareness. Don’t be naïve people. The positions of Paul that I notably defend *atleast online) are mostly those taken out of context, or distorted, and it’s not that I strongly support those positions, but that I can’t stand people misrepresenting. Other than that, I couldn’t care less who folks support. I say, vote your conscience, and don’t let the media decide for you, in these primary elections.

You enjoy a little demagoguery eh? You’re a fraud. While I can’t vouch for Don Black I certainly can for Dr. Duke. I’ve read his books, read his articles, and I’ve watched almost every video he’s produced and I can’t hardly find 2 facts which I disagree with him on.
Until you can bring two or three assertions to the table and explain why Dr. Duke’s version of those assertions are in error or are simply not factual then you don’t have a leg to stand on. Of course you are relying on your hope that the masses are like you in that they are ignorant unread and lazy and you are counting on them not doing their due diligence to search a topic out. Yes you may win on that one. I agree, the masses are extremely ignorant and uninformed. Most will hear your demagoguery and say yep by golly that ole David Duke is a “white supremacist devil!” I even heard the ole FOX News say that one time, our master Glenn Beck thinks so, and besides Phil Donahue said it back in the 90s on his TV show!
Unfortunately in the day and time that we live in I can’t win this debate; however, I don’t care. I simply want the 20-30% of intelligent people who view the Blaze and are willing to study a matter out and seek the truth before reaching a conclusion. When the matter is fully explored I’m extremely confident that my version of the truth will be acknowledged by the more considerate readers.

Ron Paul’s supporters ask that their candidate not be judged by his associates. Or by the people he chose to employ. Or by the newsletters he published. Or by the book he wrote. Or by the way he earned the largest part of his living when out of office in the 1990s. Or by his purchase of the mailing list of the Holocaust-denying Liberty Lobby. Or by the radio shows he chooses to appear on. Or by his strategic decision to reach out to racist voters. Or by the conspiracy theories to which he lends credence, from government creation of AIDS to Israeli culpability for the 1993 bombing to a putative 9/11 “coverup.”
May Ron Paul at least be judged by the words he has spoken with his own mouth within the current campaign? The supporters say “no” again. When Ron Paul tells an interviewer that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 made race relations “worse,” we’re not supposed to consider what he might mean by “better.” When Ron Paul warns that a border fence would be used to prevent fleeing American citizens from exiting the country, we’re not supposed to conclude that he’s a paranoid crank.

It is Arabs who would not allow their Arab brothers to integrate into their countries. Human rights? How about Muslim atrocities to Christians andd desecration of Christian holy sights? Human rights? Ever notice that, while many attempts have been made to smuggle explosives through checkpoints, they almost never attack the checkpoints directly? If the military is their target, why are they always aiming at civilians? And yet you want to give these people TANKS? Here’s an idea, let’s give OWS riot gear so they can fight back against the oppressive police.

I think all Americans should be proud of who they are and where they come from. In my estimation, it’s not what makes my world go ’round and it shouldn‘t be their’s or your’s… unless of course TECH, “you” have an inferiority complex… OR feel superior to someone for some reason? The sum of all the parts of a person is what’s important to me… not how they hoorah about their race, creed, color or lineage. Being or becoming a proud and patriotic America loving person is what is important in the long run for our nation and it’s unity… not emulating a racist and bigot like David Duke.
