Ed Schultz and Team Use Deceptive Editing to Make Rick Perry Look Like a Racist

MSNBC Ed Schultz Deceptive Editing to Make Rick Perry Look Like a Racist President Barack ObamaIt seems MSNBC will stop at nothing in defense of President Obama. This time, the creative team at “The Ed Show” edited a clip of Rick Perry to make it seem as though he made a racist remark about Barack Obama. Of course Ed Schultz didn’t skip a beat, latching on and editing a Perry clip mid-sentence in order to accuse the Texas governor of making a racist remark about America’s first black president.

(Update: Watch Ed Schultz apologize for the editing)

In the clip, Perry states, “I’m a pro-business governor. I don’t make any apologies about it, and I will be a pro-business president. Getting America back to work is the most important issue that faces this country, being able to pay off $14.5 trillion or $16 trillion worth of debt. That big black cloud that hangs over America.”

So what did the “The Ed Show” host do? If you guessed he insinuated that the “black cloud” Perry spoke of is Obama, and it has something to do with his race, then you’d be correct. Here’s what Schultz had to say:

Perry just inferred President Obama is not in love with the United States of America?

You know, folks, this is the same garbage we heard from Sarah Palin and all these Tea Party attack artists in this country. I think there’s an element of racism every time people claim the first black president doesn’t love this country.

Perry comes from the radical country club that loves to remind white America President Obama is other, not like you.

Perry also wants you to know that he’s pro-business.

That black cloud Perry is talking about is President Barack Obama.

However, NewsBusters’ Noel Sheppard points out that if you pay close attention to the video, although the sound ends after Perry says, “that big black cloud that hangs over America,” he is clearly still speaking.

Sheppard then provides the rest of Perry’s statement, which continued, “that big black cloud that hangs over America, that debt that is so monstrous:”

Perry wasn’t suggesting, implying, or “inferring” that the “big black cloud that hangs over America” is President Obama.

He clearly – both before the phrase “big black cloud” and after – said he was speaking about America’s debt.

Yet Schultz and his staff edited Perry in mid-sentence to make it appear the Texas governor was making a racist remark about Obama.

But this is apparently what constitutes journalism over at MSNBC. If the narrative they seek does not exist in reality, then why not edit one into existence?

And one can only imagine that if Perry’s popularity continues to soar, this is only a precursor to the many edited clips and statements that will be taken out of context to come.

Whats even more pathetic is this is all they have left.. the race card! The socialist party in their quest for fortune and glory, all of which is now blowing up in their faces, have burned out all other talking points. They know many informed educated Americans will not buy the majority of sh*t they are shoveling but they know when in doubt pull the race card as that requires zero intelligence to prove or disprove! They know the uninformed, uneducated, unengaged zombie drones need only get whiff of this and will go off against the evil rich white bible & gun toting racists!!

Maybe a little off topic, but am I the only one wondering YTF the socialist-commies still have us in force in Afghanistan? Isn’t it mission accomplished now that Obama, er, Osama is safely down in Davy Jones’ locker? I mean YTF are we still patrolling the Afghan countryside? Is President Hussein worried that if we leave the Taliban will set fire to the poppy fields again and cut off the supply of Heroin to the West? (True story, reported in National Geographic, that the Taliban, being devout whatevers, cut off Heroin production.) Or is “Hope and Change” just more of Zbigniew Brzezinski’s “Grand Chessboard” BS? I hate to admit it, but I am beginning to think that Ron Paul might be the only one among these candidates capable of “Just Saying No” to the Zbigniew Brzezinskis of DC and stopping this globalist madness. Not because I believe Mr Paul has enough “character” to stand firm, but because he is just looney enough to do just about, well anyting…

Not entirely sure here but I think Rush’s referral to Ed Schultz as Sgt Schultz, might be an insult to the character from the 60‘s sitcom Hogan’s Heroes, even though there is a slight resemblence in the face,, but if I remember the show correctly, (even tough a Nazi prison camp guard in the show) Sgt. Schultz’s character on the show, Had more integrity, honor, and compassion to those deemed his enemies, than this clown Ed Schultz displays on a nightly basis.
Now, I am certain there are a number of leftist mental midgets that have never seen the sitcom, and will have a hay-day with my comments here, but if that is the best they have, and can come up with,? Then GO FOR IT ! Wonder who could be considered Col. Klink in this current administration?

They live their lives, raise their kids, and manage their money in a completely conservative manner, yet because they don’t have an interest in politics, or an appetite for conservative media, they are fertile ground for the democrat pimps. And if the “probable cause” for thinking someone is an illegal (the grounds for invoking the new legal authority) is someone being Hispanic looking, that’s kind of racist. Are you really going to sit there and insist illegals commit kess crime than legal citizens? The reason the numbers you spout off exist is the differnce in population numbers of citizens vs. illegals. The true measure is percentage in prison per population numbers, which ir clear illegals have higher numbers.

By the way, in case your talking points didn’t mention this. Illegals are 100% criminals considering they become criminals as soon as they enter the country. However, you can use the prison population percents since most illegals have not been captured yet (keep that yet in mind, it will happen)

actually the probable cause for checking immigration status would be the inability to produce proper identification during a normal stop for some other reason. I know it is rather boring and certainly does not fit the racist narrative of the deranged democrat mind, but truth is truth.

I am guessing your search for Santa, the tooth fairy, and the loch Ness monster was probably just as fruitless as your search for racism in every statement made by a conservative.

Typical left wing deflection. Don’t talk about the issue at hand but bring up something that

      A) Has absolutely nothing to do with the issue.
This is about left wing progressives lying .Not immigration.

      B) Use smoke and mirrors on an assumption and not a fact
To be stopped or detained a law must be broken.First. You cant be stopped for looking illegal. That’s a LIE! Your argument that racial profiling or creating a reason to stop is assuming the officer is prejudice and if it cant be proven that he/she was specifically targeting because of race or color then he/she is innocent. I mean thats what you progressives scream about all day long innocent until proven guilty except when it comes to authority or conservatives.Guilty until proven innocent. That works in Communist countries not here.

      C) Spew hatred, racism and animosity towards those who follow the law. What are the federal guidelines if someone is found to have broken the law and entered this country illegally? Is that a crime or not? Is it OK for the progressive left to look the other way under the social justice argument or abide by the law as it’s written.

The left continuously does this. Never speak to the facts when progressive are caught in lies, distortion and immoral tactics.

I hope you are proud of yourself. Why not just fly hammer and sickle flag outside your house you surely rally behind their cause.

      Nice try. But you fail!

Actually, Rick Perry has endorsed open borders in the past. Rick Perry is a politician, don’t forget that. Quite frankly I would never vote for Rick Perry, he’s not what he portrays himself to be. Definitely reminds me of our current President.
As for the archon, open borders is national suicide. This is widely known. Every country in the world enforces there borders. Why? Because as stated in a previous sentence, it is national suicide. So, enforcing our laws against Latinos is not racist. So to sum it up, the constitution is not a suicide pact and inquiring ones immigration status is not “racist”. And the fascist remark is ignorant of history. The nazis did not ask for papers to maintain there borders as we do, they were trying to eliminate Jews and any they deemed undesirable from Germany. In America the front door is always open! We have the most accommodating immigration laws in the world. Most countries will not grant you citizenship unless you have a substantial amount of money or an indispensable skill.
The archon does not understand the damage he and others like him do when they use the word racist to insult someone using a clearly false argument. It increasingly makes the word meaningless. Trying to alter reality with backward logic, lies, rhetoric and ignorance in the end, fails.

@ INOGAWD — Over 90% of blacks voted for Obama. Simply based on his skin color? That would be racist. Why don’t we draft Sarah Palin for president, with Allen West as her veep? After Sarah’s two terms, West would emerge as a seasoned, principled conservative, ready to carry the torch to a new generation, benefiting not only his race, but also our entire country. West would be a black president in whom we could all take pride. Gotta think outside the box. The problem is business as usual.

I am going to vote for Rick Perry because he is white!

Why not? 81% of blacks will vote for Obama strictly because of his color. Yet Obama and the democratic party are holding the black man down. Poverty is worse, unemployment is dismal, entitlements are enslaving african-americans, black people are being foreclosed on at drastic rates…Under Obama the poor get poorer yet they are too ensnared to understand their plight. Most anyway, many are waking up.

So you go right ahead and play that race card, I simply do not care anymore. I have been called a terrorist, a racist, an obstructionist, and the enemy. The blame game and name calling are all the democrats have left, they have failed. Perry will be the next president, it is not even going to be a contest. America is sick of these games, you lose. Good-bye.

What are you talking about? Herman Cain is/was totally racist! “I will not hire Muslims.“ ”Muslims should be subjected to heavier scrutiny.“ ”I don’t trust Muslims.” How do you think he plans to identify Muslims? Hint–it’s not by the yellow crescent they wear (it’s their skin tone–which, I know, it’s just an assumption that all Middle Eastern looking people are Muslim, but it’s one Cain seems to be perfectly happy to make). If that‘s not blatantly racist then I don’t know what is.

I don’t have a daughter, but if I did I wouldn‘t care if she married a Muslim if that’s what made her happy. I don’t believe that Muslims, any more than any other people, are share any certain characteristic (like being sexist) categorically. I would want to know the prospective Muslim personally. If he was a nice person, then I would be fine with it–if he was a ****-hole, I’d tell her I thought so. Regardless, I don’t think Muslims, as a people, are necessarily all sexist, and certainly there religion isn’t any more sexist than a literal interpretation of the Bible.

Ok archon, its time for a language lesson. The written english language is very precise. Lets look at some of the posts in this thread. You will notice some referred to Muslims as terrorists. Obviously not all Muslims are terrorists and we have a word that describes this perfectly and it is stereotyping. It is human nature to stereotype. We endeavor to avoid it but it is always a part us. The brain seeks patterns and sometimes misleads us to false conclusions. Mature, cogent thought is the remedy for this. An example would be saying that the tea party is racist. Its silly to say that an entire segment of the population is racist. If you watch the news you may be inclined to stereotype when you see mostly white faces at a tea party gathering and assuming that because the movement is predominately white people who disagree with the president means they are all racist is the definition of stereotyping. Disagreement is not hatred or stereotyping. Another common example would be to say, all young black males are criminals. Obviously that is not true but if you were to scan the local news you may think otherwise. Some would say that is racist but it is not, it is stereotyping again.
Racism is hatred of another based solely on race. Key word being hatred.
So, distrust of Muslims is obviously not based on race or the color of there skin but horrendous actions some Muslims have done in the name of there religion. That is stereotyping not hatred. Lesson over.

      1. Being a cancer survivor doesn’t make you a good person. Good for her
      2. Adopting kids doesn’t make you a good person, but good for her.
      3. Having a radio show, DEFINITELY doesn’t make you a good person (Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Don Imus) nor does writing books, but again, good for her.

The measure of a good person is whether or not they use their reason and humanity to determine their beliefs. What does Laura Ingraham believe?
      1. Gay people‘s relationships are not legitimate and do not deserve the same recognition that straight one’s receive and/or they are incapable, apparently, of raising children.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30lK-Dy33T4
      2. Muslims shouldn’t be allowed to build their houses of worship where they choose (despite saying the opposite earlier on her own program).
