Ed Schultz Denounces Stewart/Colbert Rally (and Glenn Beck)

Progressive radio and MSNBC host Ed Schultz took to the airwaves Thursday to condemn comedians Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert and their “Restore Sanity and/or Fear” rally.
Schultz seemed puzzled by the rally’s lack of seriousness, saying he didn’t know if the rally was “a spoof, a joke, a promotion on their part… what’s happening here?”
In addition, Schultz didn’t pass up a chance to attack conservative radio and TV host Glenn Beck, deriding Beck as a “fraudulent pig,“ a ”drunk“ and a ”phony“ he has ”no respect for.” Nice.
Schultz is the second liberal radio talker to come out against the Stewart/Colbert rally planned for Saturday. Liberal host Bill Press eloquently dismissed the event as “a big masturbation festival on the National Mall.”

Glenn Beck has an audience! The only audience you can muster is the coat tails of Glenn’s by attacking him.

But Schultz–what can I say? He’s just an ignoramus–a real clown. He obviously didn’t get enough attention as a child. I hope Colbert and Stewart, as much as I dislike their viewpoints, start using him as their new punching bag.
I bet Schultz is out of work within the year. Hell, Rick Sanchez insulted Stewart and he was canned the next day.

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 9:50pmA “fraudulent pig”, a “drunk” and a “phony”? Well, well, well, this wouldn‘t be considered ’hate speech’ by you leftists, would it Mr. Schultz? Oh, that’s right- according to Mr. Holder’s INjustice Dept., there is no hate speech protection for caucasians. But Beck is still a “drunk”, right? No, that’s not accurate either, especially considering the fact that Glenn Beck has not had a drink in how many years now? And freely and openly talks about being a recovering alcoholic, too. A “phony”? I‘d have to say you’re wrong on that one too, Schultz. You see, Glenn is something you liberals will never be able to recognize: an educated, well-informed and successful (I know that one really burns you) patriot who also happens to be a God-fearing Christian and family man with a deep and abiding love for freedom and an unshakeable belief in American Exceptionalism. Because there is nothing authentic or genuine about you liberals (certainly not one of your tired, played thoughts, insults or antiquated talking points), you remain unable to recognize a genuine article – even while it’s kicking your ass in the ratings.

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 9:43pmI have a newfound respect (well, not really, but I LOVED the segment) for Jon Stewart after he chewed Obama a new one – and in the process probably made some liberals see him for the incompetent buffoon that he really is. That was the best interview with Obama I’ve ever seen… even besting Bill O‘reilly’s (Sorry Bill, but as a comedian, Jon just got away with more! Can you imagine if you had called him Dude?)
Report Post »jvg
Posted on October 29, 2010 at 9:53pmI‘m a liberal and that interview didn’t make me uncomfortable at all. I like hearing Obama asked hard questions and I thought the answers were revealing of his state of mind. He’s not like all those Tea Party candidates, or the last administration, who only go on shows where they get softball questions. Jon Stewart was asking the questions that millions of Americans wanted to ask themselves. That’s the job of a reporter (in this case, a fake one doing a better job than many of the real ones).

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 10:08pmHey JVG-
Report Post »You don’t get it. The reason Obama went on Stewart’s show is because his approval is cratering. He‘s facing an election that will wipe out the Democrat control of Congress so he’s looking to drum up support from his base. Yeah, Stewart asked some tough questions, but he was critical from the left. The thing you types fail to realize is this is a center-right country. Most people in the country do not want socialized healthcare, but guys like Stewart are unsatisfied because Obamacare didn’t take us to single payer immediately. This is not a view that “normal Americans” share.

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 10:13pmJohn Stewart SEEMS like he ripped the President a new one, because he only goes on shows that are liberal and give him super softball questions
He did one short interview with Baier and long talked and avoided the questions.
When was his last press conference where he took questions?
Schultz and far left liberals expected Stewart to treat him like He, Maddow, Olberman, or Thrill Down My Leg would. When he didnt, Shultz began to question his motives.

So, can you tell us what state of mind that was?
You are quite correct that 0 is not like us TEA peeps or TEA candidates. That is very sad. We love the USA. We want govt to be put in it’s Constitutional place. We want open transparent govt, not the closed door behind the scenes stuff of 0 & co. We want govt to stop stealing our $, less spending by govt, the free market left alone [minimal regulation to keep it fair & honest though], the US Founder’s intentions honored…
That is not what Captain Zero wants. That is why it is sad. 0 is a true SOB. He is doing all the things Bush did, only faster. We still have the ‘Patriot Act’, Military Commisions Act, more borrowing, even higher deficits & debt ceiling…What has 0 done different than Bush? Nothing good…
Oh yeah: SOB??? YUP!!! Son Of Bush!!! That is NOT a compliment! Bush was a jerk…
You did get one thing right: Stewart did a much better, even if comedic, job getting 0 exposed than say the talking Donkey, Ed , Chrissy Matthews or Rachshill Madcow would have.
An aside: Hey you all who use the term ‘tea baggers’. Do you know what that is? So please stop it already unless you are a fan of Janine Barfalano. Please, clean up your language. It’s disgusting!!! Thank you!!

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 9:55pmAgreed, I wonder how much better off the world would be if MSNBC simply went out of business, and then I also have to consider the fact that with it about, we do have a constant example of just why we need to take back and hold onto the freedoms encompassed in the Constitution of our land; and in the need for God’s protection and guidance now and the future.
MSNBC will be able to provide a lesson to future Americans of why we fought so hard to take back the country from the darkness in this time. For to forget the past (which it will be to them) we are condemned to the repeating of it (as we have almost allowed to happen with the Progressives).

It became very clear in one point I have to a large degree foolishly been overlooking at, in the fact we are a Republic and not a Democracy. For in a true Republic, all are equal in rights and freedoms, while a Democracy was once described to me as the potential for the majority to “declare the minority as second class citizens or worse.”
That is something else to think upon as well.
