    Religion in and of itself can be a good thing, but all have the potential to produce extremists and radicals. THAT BEING SAID, however, it is perverse and irresponsible to say that Christians are more destructive and/or harmful than the Muslim extremists. Christians have had their “turning point”; they’ve had their epiphany way back with Martin Luther when it was realized that the crusades were against the true nature of the religion. Until the Muslim extremists have this realization and ALL Muslims join together to denounce and fight the extremists, they will continue be more dangerous than ANY radicals – including Christians. This man is very intelligent, but again, with great intelligence, sometimes comes a lack of true diverse understanding. To make this statement, he does nothing other than downgrade the level of horror displayed by those who will take their own life for the sole benefit of killing others in the name of religion. Radical Christians may discriminate and they may judge but I would hardly call that as fearful as the Jihadists who will stone you to death or blow you up. When one says these kinds of things, just like when people scream “Racist” when they have no other argument, it takes away the level of seriousness of these terms. This is very irresponsible and, I think, mainly stated for shock value and recognition.

    @Danglingbags: you are right some of the counties in the south do not sell alcohol, however to choose to sell alcohol in the counties, the county puts it on ballots for the people of that county to vote on. With Sharia law you are not allowed to vote and you are not allowed to voice your opinions without the threat of harm. Most likely the Muslims would have already gotten rid of you. We enjoy h reading your posts, you are a good reminder to us what we are fighting for and you encourage people to fight harder. And just to let you know, my union working democrat family was at Glenn Beck’s rally. We enjoyed it and was glad to be a part of it. We support Glenn Beck, Fox News, the Tea Party and are looking so forward to casting our vote for a republican this November. And we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. So please don’t think that your attempts to get others on the liberal side, you are failing miserably, the liberals and the Obama administration are the ones who have caused our family to look at the agenda of the Tea Party and to the republicans.

I wish it could have happened sooner, but I thank my God that it happened at all and pray that the awakening happened in time. Glenn said we need to get behind God, that this is His fight, and that rang true in my heart. No matter what the distractions are, I am keeping my eyes looking to God and seeking His advice and approval, not man’s. LOL

    i need to vent a bit, here i go…..the problem with the democrats is that if you don’t think like they do, you are stupid, ignorant, a redneck hill billy from the south with no education, right wing religious fanatic, gun totting fool.

    here is the kicker, i’m not stupid nor am i ignorant. i have a college education, work in the entertainment industry, cuban american who doesn’t own a gun, not a fan of religion, bit agnostic, my wife is actually an atheist who can’t stand the democrats and has voted for the GOP for the last 12 years. have tons of gay friends who i would trust with my life and even my children.

    but even though i do not care for organized religion and agree that religion has caused plenty of vile and evil atrocities in the world, i do accept and understand that it has also done plenty of good for mankind and …and….the fact that i live in judeo-christian nation….built on judeo-christian beliefs….laws that were written with judeo-christian values…..yes i am grateful to be part of this great country.

    i personally do not agree with burning of any books or any flags but our great country gives us that freedom, it also gives us the freedom to practice which ever system of belief you desire as long as it does not cause any harm to anyone. you wanna be an atheist? you wanna be a satanist? you wanna be christian? you wanna be a jew? you want to make up some weird religion and believe in some guy named xenu? knock yourself out.

    i have voted with the GOP since i was 18 years of age not because of religion or because i am rich, trust me i am not, but because true republicans/conservatives are about personal freedom, personal responsibilities, about working hard, about that great entrepreneur spirit that has made america great for over 200 years. the GOP is about you..

    the democratic party in the other hand is about keeping you down, about making you depend on the government instead of depending on what we all have since birth…our wits, our hands, our freedom to choose what we want in life.

    it’s a good feeling to work hard and receive at the end of the week a well earned salary…you appreciate it more. the dems would rather give you a welfare check so you can vote for them.

      You truly can gauge a person’s ignorance by how virulent he is about defending Islam as a peace-loving religion, while at the same time denouncing Christianity as violent. FYI: If you slice the head off of someone because he won’t convert to Islam, you are following the example and teachings of Muhammad; if you pray for someone to receive the gift of salvation through Christ, you are following the example and teachings of Jesus (Jn 17:20). As a matter of fact, about the most severe thing a Christian is supposed to do in response to someone refusing the message of salvation is to leave that person to his own fate (Mt 10:13-14), which is Hell.

I do not get his point though because Muslims say there is only one way too. To tell the truth I think the powers that be want all of us “one wayers” to kill each other off so they can save the bullets.     Christian fundamentalists are good people. We love others and we want everyone to be able to live in peace and we believe the Bible. What is wrong with that? We do not go around rioting, pillaging, and killing others. We do not kill in the name of God. Those who do are not true Christians.

    I repeat, bad Christians are not true Christians. They are not fundamentalists. There is a serious mislabeling over what a Christian fundamentalist really is.

    Please remember this Mr Ed Schultz and everyone else. Do not take a few bad apples as a representation of the whole group and try to focus more on the good apples please. How much do you hear about good Christians or good Muslims especially on the news? Hardly any.

      I agree on some levels with your concerns re overly christian references in the Tea Party. Not because I’m not a Christian but because in terms of numbers, we need Independents and moderates to help vote out the progressive socialists. Conservative Christian beliefs are wonderful but in a country that expresses freedom of religion and is currently heading towards totalitarianism via the progressives we need to get folks on track via the overspending, taxation, obamacare nightmare, economic downspiral and so on. We need to pray like crazy and take positive action via voting and not get caught up in religious conundrums that take away the focus of where we need to be. Islam is indeed a threat, a very serious threat but not as currently dangerous (unless unchecked down the road) as what we as a nation face w/ Obama ‘s minions and their plans to fundamentally transform america.

      Listen to the fear in their voices. They hate the truth and are fighting with every ounce of effort in them to deny it to the point of spreading lies and distortions about Christianity and anyone who opposes them. It’s so transparent that it has become laughable. They are so afraid of what will happen in November with the overwhelming rejection of the Godless left by the American people that they will do and say anything to keep the few followers that they still have. Sorry Godless Lefties your time is over – Epic Fail.

      I have only been on this site for a couple of days and I see a very distinct pattern. For a lot of the new stories that break this DANGLINGBAGS guy is the first to chime in. when that happens all the people that actually care about the direction of this Country spend the next several hours defending our reasoning to this poor guy. It’s a complete waste of time.
      He wants’ us wasting time. He is a self proclaimed liberal progressive and his mind can’t be changed through conversation. You have as much of a chance of changing his mind as he has of changing ours. Let’s move on…..

      What we have to understand is 99.9 % of what we see on many cable News shows now is not news but SHOCK JOCK actors like Schultz. Saying anything and everything for ratings!! What has set Beck apart is that the things he says, many times jokingly, because he admits he is an entertainer. He researchs and is trying to tell his viewers what he believes is the TRUTH!! Love learning about NEW things that yes do sometimes SHOCK and make me angry. But Beck always backs his opinions up with books and videos. The same is with these so-called comment pages. 99.9% is personel attacks on others opinions. There is one on WAPO and no matter what the article is. This person blames everything on White Supremacy groups LOL!!! What Schultz failed to point out is that Christians go on missions around the world to help people. Just like the ones that were killed in Afghanistan recently for being Christians by the Taliban. Do Muslims travel the world to help poor INFIDELS ???
