Ed Schultz Audio: Laura Ingraham Is a ‘Right-Wing Slut’

MSNBC host Ed Schultz, that reliable source of thoughtful, progressive political commentary, enlightened his radio listeners earlier this week about popular conservative talk-show host and commentator Lara Ingraham. According to Schultz, she’s a “right-wing slut.” And he didn’t just let it slip out once. No, he made sure to repeat the slur.

“And what do the Republicans thinking about? They’re not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They’re just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.”
Schultz seems angry about Ingraham’s comments on Fox that it may not have been the greatest decision for Obama to be seen drinking beer in Ireland as Joplin, MO tried to pick up the pieces after a devastating tornado.
But as Mediaite’s Jon Bershad points out, the reasoning doesn’t really matter:
Look, if you don’t agree with something the woman says, you can feel free to call her an “idiot” or a “jerk” or a “big, stupid poop-face.” Whatever you want. Just don’t call her a slut, you big, stupid poop-face!

Actually this republican (whose family of 5 has been living on $1400/month since Obama has taken office which used to be $3500/month under Bush) was thinking after I sent the Red Cross a $50 donation, that I wish that I could do more. I was also thinking “Where are all the elitist Hollywood types who hold concerts for foreign nations? Why aren’t they helping the flood victims or the tornado victims? What part of Limbaugh/Beck’s analysis do you disagree with? I know you did not jump to conclusions and reviewed the CONTEXT of what they said. I know how liberals love context. If you still disagree or find there comments offensive, how would you have referred to Landrieu? She was against healthcare until she received 300 Million tax payers’ dollars.
I will stop being offended by Shultz if you could put his comments in a context where slut would apply to her. I guess I am just too ignorant to put it together.
Once again, both sides say offensive things. Your side just makes the comments more often. The moral is if this would have been a conservative it would be frontline for all the former relevant news networks.
For example, if in the span of 1 week George Bush would have had a beer photo opt while Americans were dealing with tornados, got a date wrong by three years, or flubbed a toast and embarrassed the United States we would have heard about the dumb ole cowboy president.
