Ed Schultz: Martha MacCallum Shows ‘How Dumb Some of Those Fox Anchors Really Are’

Two months after MSNBC gave host Ed Schultz a one-week suspension for calling conservative commentator Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut,” Schultz targeted another member of the media Tuesday, this time saying Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum is an “example of how dumb some of these Fox anchors really are.”

Calling MacCallum a “Fox straight news anchor and Gretchen Carlson-wannabe“ during the ”Psycho Talk” segment of his program, Schultz played a clip of her talking about the amount of checks the government sends out each month and how if that weren’t the case the country could manage the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without being in such dire fiscal shape.

Saying MacCallum “got on board with a brand-new right-wing talking point,” Schultz said many of the checks the government writes go to veterans and the elderly, “but Martha would rather use that money on the war.”

“This is just another example of how dumb some of those Fox anchors really are,” he said:

Yes of the 89,000,000 checks many go toward veterans and retirees but what about the rest of them? How many go toward groups like ACORN, La Raza and others who wish to destroy this nation?

      Oreilly has about 4 million. Beck had close to the same.

      @teapartyconservatism– i suspect you are not genuine, but anyway…

      If I understand you correctly, the definition of natural born means a person has to BOTH be born on US soil AND have both parents be citizens. That is plainly false.

      If that were the case, practically none of the early generations of Americans could have been natural born as their parents were from England or other countries who moved here. Early language says that the parents should owe allegience to no other country, but does not specifiy that they be citizens.

      I’m pretty sure the correct reading is that a baby has to be born on US soil, OR born to US citizen parents if they are on foreign soil, coupled with renouncing any dual citizenship if born abroad.

      For instance, John McCain was born to US citizen parents in the Panama canal zone (not US soil) but no one has challenged his natural born status.

      Plus, it is pretty much TOO LATE to make this argument. Also, it is a PIPE DREAM to think the current US congress would attempt to challenge Obama’s status.

      All you are doing by pressing this claim is giving the left ammo to call the tea party racists whether you like it or not. I think the tea party people (I’m one) should continue to press for reducing spending and bringing representative government back under control of the governed. All this citizenship stuff is a distraction.

      okay, can’t let this one go by. We didn’t demand a birth certificate from Obama BECAUSE he was black. We demanded one because his father is African (and that’s NOT African American), and his step father gave up his citizenship in Indonesia to go to school there. I don‘t care if he’s purple with yellow stripes. He’s not a natural born citizen, having one parent from a different country. Look at the fit the Progressives through over McCain being born on a military base to 2 natural born American citizens, demanding his birth certificate. And all the while, Obama knew his wasn’t legit. Get off the racism thing, it doesn’t apply. I would vote for Cain in a heart beat, what is he not really black?       Actually, you’re wrong. The constitution gives the alternative of a naturalized citizen at the time of the writing. Have you researched EVERY president to see where their parents were born? This is the first president with dual citizenship, which our country doesn’t allow. The reason they didn’t is because dual citizenship means divided loyalties. How can you fight against the country of one of your parents (if it came to that) over protecting the United States?

      If this were a website or blog, I would say ignore it. However, this is a news arm of a major network. I don’t watch MSNBC, but when stupid, outrageous, over-the-line things are said, I want to hear about it. Most people don’t watch MSNBC, but they need to be aware sometimes of the derangement that has permeated that network. The only reason Ed Schultz was reprimanded last time for his “slut” remark was because it went public (i.e. non-MSNBC viewers – 99.9% of the viewing public – heard about it). Hopefully, all these incidents will lead to Schultz being fired. One can only hope.

    The fact of the matter is that she is right. The entitlement mentality is sucking the very life out of our country.       There may be truth in what you said just now.

      HOWEVER! Martha McCollum is NOT a journalist. She is a talking head and doesn’t wear shoulder pads so she has had some brain damage from the bobbleheading. But! The good news? Even people in the Senate like Lindsay Graham and John McCain who boobblehead frequently (things were different for them 20 yrs ago) eventually get brain damaged from it.

Were there some Republicans involved in those spending hikes? Absolutely! and they should be held accountable. Martha made an excellent point that this Ed is smoothing over.. the fact that we have 80 million checks going out is a sign of the real problem. We have created a welfare/entitlement state that we can no longer sustain. Not to mention that all of these entitlements are unconstitutional, but no one has ever spent the time or energy to fight that fight… Mostly because Washington is full of “politicians”, not patriots. Politicians on both sides of the isle are at fault for this.

    Ed Schultz, isn’t that the latest incarnation of the incoherent Sloberman wannabe?? Or is it the “I see nothing, I know nothing.” version of the hilarious Hogan’s Heroes character. I‘m betting on the Know Nothing version because the few times I’ve been aware of him his total lack of any sort of intelligent thought is very apparent.     It’s funny how these liberals are all in force yet again complaining about the Bush wars, when in fact we have a Obama war now as well. I haven’t heard any of these people complain about Libya. And hasn’t their guy been president now for 2 1/2 years? I thought he was going to end the Bush wars?

      Don’t leave out the Predator drone attacks in Pakistan (PockEEstawn to BamBam), Syria and Somalia. BamBam actually has expanded the war. Only difference is that this chickenshit CinC kills the terrorists our brave troops risk their lives to capture. BamBam sends them off for ‘rendition, i.e., torture) to other allies, then has them killed so he doesn’t havew to worry about GITMO.
