(Updated) Egypt Air Allegedly Wipes Israel off the Map

Accident, prophetic, or wishful thinking? Those are the questions swirling after it was discovered Egyptian airline Egypt Air does not include Israel on a destination map on its website.

“Egypt Air, the largest airline in Egypt, has removed Israel from the map – literally,” the Israeli news outlet Ynetnews.com reports. “On its website, Ynet has learned, Jordan’s land reaches the Mediterranean Sea.”

(Updated) Egypt Air Allegedly Wipes Israel off the MapAccording to the outlet, looking past Israel’s existence is odd considering one of it subsidiaries, Air Sinai, regularly flies to the tiny, Jewish country.

“On the map are the names of the Mideast capitals – Amman, Beirut, and Damascus – but Israel is nowhere to be found,” YNet says. “The omission is especially odd seeing as the company continues to fly to Israel four times a week.”

YNet does note that flights from Cairo to to Tel Aviv had been temporally halted due to unrest in Egypt, but they were eventually reinstated. However, if you try to book that route on the main Egypt Air website, you’ll be unsuccessful:

But a quick search on a third-party flight site shows Egypt Air does offer Israeli-bound flights:

We reached out to Egypt Air in New York. The representative said she “didn’t know” why Israel was removed, but did confirm that the airline does fly from Cairo to Tel Aviv via Air Sinai. She said she would alert headquarters in Cairo and see what they said.

UPDATE:

The representative from Egypt Air called back after we published our story. She said that because Air Sinai is a subsidiary of Egypt Air, and not Egypt Air itself, that’s why Israel is not showing up.

“It doesn’t matter,” she said when asked if that’s odd considering they are connected. “The map only shows what cities we fly to.”

She also claimed that Egypt Air has never included Israel on its destination map, which runs counter to YNet’s assertion.

The site Mapsoftheworld.com explains the connection between the two airlines:

In order to run scheduled flights between Egypt and Israel, EgyptAir launched its subsidiary, Air Sinai, in the year 1982. This route was previously served by the Nefetiti Aviation. Presently Air Sinai, operating under EgyptAir, also runs a number of charter flights to various destinations. Air Sinai also runs wet lease services for other airlines.

The central hub of Air Sinai is Cairo in Egypt from which it operates Flights to Tel Aviv in Israel. Therefore, the only destination of Air Sinai, besides Cairo, is Tel Aviv. The airline runs three weekly flights from Cairo to Tel Aviv. Air Sinai also runs a number of charter flights between Egypt and Israel.

The fleet of Air Sinai consists of only one aircraft namely Boeing 737-500. This sole airplane of Air Sinai has served the airline for years without a mark on its body.

We’re reaching out to YNet for comment also.

UPDATE II:

We talked with the YNet reporter who wrote the story. He said he’s not claiming that Egypt Air “removed” Israel from its map, as he doesn’t have proof that Egypt Air ever listed Tel Aviv as a destination to begin with. He said his reference to “removed” was more general.

We also called Egypt Air in Cairo to ask if Air Sinai was a subsidiary and if they every listed Israel on their destination map. They responded “no” to both questions. The representative did say the company is aware of a slight map error (the mistake of a third-party company) regarding the geography and that it is working to be corrected. He also said that Air Sinai is not listed on its website because it is a separate company. When asked why other companies are listed, he said because they are part of the “Star Alliance.”

“This is not political,” he said.

    Remember it was Egypt Air that had the first suicide airline attack prior to 9/11/2001. The co-pilot deliberately crashed the plane into the Altantic killing all on board. I have always wondered if this was connected in any way to Al-Qaida developing the plans for their attacks.

      Isreal has had nuclear weapons since the 60′s. I believe Isreal has been a good steward of their nuclear arsenal. A quick bit of research finds that Isreal’s stockpile of nuclear devices is thought to be over three hundred and that they have never used a nuclear device.

      If it comes to the point where Isreal begins to use nuclear weapons I fear it may be all over at that point.

The Muslim Brotherhood is not encumbered by the Sunni vs Shiite divide in Islam because its purpose is to establish Sharia law worldwide. It moves freely in circles with al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas and other deadly organizations that prey on a population demonstrating for democracy.

For example, the Brotherhood supported the constitutional changes adopted by Egyptian voters ostensibly for democracy because they made it easier for the Brotherhood to elect its minions to office. Already, DebkaFile reports that the recent massive mortar attack on Israeli citizens near Gaza is a direct result of Egypt’s new policy which is now aligned with Syria and Iran–through the handiwork of the Muslim Brotherhood as supported by the White House.

      Now the White House is pressuring Israel to “get ahead” of the Middle East unrest by brokering peace. There appears to be, however, a far greater threat looming than peace with Palestinian terrorists can solve–it is the deeper radicalization of Muslim nations that will lead to great hostilities as prophesied in the Bible. The Lord says in Ezekiel 12:27-28, “The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off. Therefore say unto them, Thus says the Lord God; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done.” These things are occurring before our very eyes and there are harsh consequences for those nations who assist them at the expense of God’s people.

      What needs to be understood is that while Mubarak grudgingly accepted a frigid peace with Israel while promoting retreaded blood libel and other judeophobic messages within the state media. This means he was reaping the billions in US aid promised for the mouthing of words he doesn’t mean (like “peace”) while also appeasing the moslem brotherhood and the various splinter groups that are more extreme then it. The Egyptian on the street does not want peace with Israel and is bombarded in the regional and local media about the supposed evils of the Israelis/Jews.
      Jordan is slightly more friendly (in relative terms) but the same basic setup. The twist is that Jordan is majority Palestinian which the world quickly glosses over that meaning (THE Palestinian state).
      This rather long winded prep for my point is that this is par for any Arab nation bordering or near Israel. Egypt is no exception in this matter; it is convenient for very corrupt Arab governments (redundant statement, I know) and some elements of the populace to have the scapegoat/boogyman of Israel to blame for everything from shark attacks to nepotism at the pinnacle of the state. Companies use this method to pander to segments of society (much like MSNBC or NPR do here in the US) to gain more customers or gloss over the fact that they make money off the “evil” enemy.

      This was during a time that Egyptians worshiped multiple gods. Before Muslim, which again is related to Judaism and both of those are related to Christianity. I find it hard to believe that God would take sides between two religions that are related.

      Add to that the fact that about 10 percent of the population of Egypt is Christian.

Who do you think is coming down on the side of evil? Of course it is the devil. God has punished Israel before for not following his commands, but he has not destroyed them.       All Americans should stand by and support Israel. The very nature of Islam is to convert, destroy or enslave all Jews. Oh, that is what they want for Christians too.

      Now you just stepped further into the muck. First you equated the Egyptians of today with those of biblical times. The problem with that is the main religion of Egypt today is different than in biblical times. Today the Egyptian State Religion is Islam while in biblical times it was Kemetic. As I have noted previously Islam is related to Judaism.

      Now you note a clash between good and evil. So are you now saying that Judaism is good while Islam is bad. Eventhough they sprouted from the same religion. This would not be much different than Catholicism and The Church of England (Protestantism). Would you deem Protestants as evil?

      If you are referring specifically to radical Islamists I will give you that. Anytime religion is twisted to serve man over God then evil is involved. I would then content that there was evil involved in the crusades.

      Read what you just wrote!!! This is the type of post that those on the left love to pluck off The Blaze to help their case against Glenn and any of us on the right.

      Signofthetimes – Do you REALLY believe this? If so, you need to do some research on Islam. The faith itself is not the problem it is a group within the faith that twist it that is the problem. The faith is not evil! Those that twist it are!!!

      Denying Israel is like denying the sun comes up in the east, they all deny the truth. However, it is the denial of Christ and God himself… But that truth one day will make them fall on their faces in awe of him.. It maybe sooner than later…

      I think that when Isreal starts defending itself because we know that they are going to have to pretty soon. The UN will order attacks on Isreal and they will have command of our armed forces much like they do for this “exercise” in Libya. That is my theory. We will end up attacking out strongest ally. God help us if that happens. Glenn said to look for miracles..we will need one if that happens.

      DUHHHH Egypt and the rest off all the Middle East!
      The US has been blessed for a very long time because of our support for Israel. Pray for Israel’s protection. Pray for the protection of the US and those who support Israel. I fear Obama and all his followers are no longer going to put us in God’s good grace. God have mercy on us.

      Since the State of Israel became a nation again in 1948 the USA has been it‘s biggest suporter and ally and God’s abundant blessings have been upon the USA, for two basic reasons:
      1, The friendship, support and protection of Israel
      2. The Christian determination to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world

      Unfortunately, both of these are in imminent danger of being discontinued under the Barack Obama administration that favors Islam and Arab/Islamic countries. All the revolutionary activity that’s taking place in Arab/Muslim countries has one principle goal, a united effort to destroy Israel as a nation and as a people.

      Jehovah, the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD will not let Arab/Muslim countires overrun and destroy the State of Israel., His chosen people. What God did in the 1967 Israeli/Arab War will seem like a small victory for the Jews compared to what He will do when the Arab/Muslim countries attack Israel. The outcome will be determined by the answer to one biblical question, ” Who is on the Lord’s side?” The answer, ISRAEL !
