Egyptian Cleric: Sharia Law Would Make Egypt the ‘Mightiest Nation in the World’

As the Egyptian run-off presidential elections draw near, many citizens have no idea whether their country will soon be governed by a new constitution, or Islamic Sharia law. The Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate, Mohammed Mursi, is expected to face former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq in a run-off vote with dire implications.
But Egyptian cleric Sheik Muhammad Sallah is already making a case for Sharia law that may be hard to argue against – if it were true. Appearing on Al-Hekma TV in Egypt on May 4, he said that if Egypt would simply force its citizens to live by the “Shari’a of Allah,“ it would become the ”mightiest nation in the world” and even more wealthy than Sweden.
First though, he cleared up some misconceptions about Sharia law in an attempt to sexy the concept up a bit.
“You are wrong in your assessment that if Islam comes to power people’s hands would be chopped off. This would mean that we are thieves. Are we really thieves? They say that Islam will stone people. This would mean that we are fornicators. Are we really fornicators? They say that people’s hands and feet on alternate sides will be chopped off. This would mean that we have committed hiraba. But we are not like that,” Sallah said. ”This people rejects sin and rebels against tyranny.”
“Hiraba” is the crime of waging “war against Allah and His messenger” and spreading disorder across the land, according to the Koran.
The irony of his statements is he essentially admits that if you do so happen to be a thief, fornicator or commit hiraba, you are in big trouble under Sharia law. His premise was based on the flawed logic that no one in Egypt would ever commit these crimes. This was apparently lost on Sallah.
Translation services were provided by MEMRI TV. Listen to the Egyptian cleric’s entire Sharia law pitch here:
Sallah went on to say that success for Egypt would mean triumph for all of Islam and Muslim countries. But at the same time, the collapse of Egypt would also “spell the collapse of the Islamic world.”
“If it implemented the law of Allah. By Allah (Egypt) would become the mightiest nation in the world. It would be richer than Sweden and its per capita income would be higher than any European nation,” he continued. “Hence, our enemies do not want us to have stability, prosperity or security and they are constantly instigating civil strife which afflicts the people like wildfire.”
Further, all the instances of victory over the “oppressors and infidels” in modern times were achieved under Egyptian commanders, according to Sallah. Therefore, he explained, it is their duty to come to the aid of places like Syria, where the “West” is trying to instigate civil strife.
“The (West) does not want this courageous people to enjoy stability or security,” he said, in a thinly veiled criticism of U.S. foreign policy. “Therefore, you must be vigilant. Be vigilant.”

Posted on June 7, 2012 at 8:03pmI find it very prophetic when this “candidate” says the following, “if Egypt would simply force its citizens to live by the “Shari’a of Allah”… Folks, this should not be new to anyone. Islam can only FORCE their so called religion on people and than claim it works. God will never force Himself on you. He has already defeated death through His Son Jesus Christ, and who ever surrenders themselves to Jesus will live. Life in Christ Jesus is wonderful. You will have problems because now you are the righteousness of God THROUGH Christ who strengthens you, but God will always bring victory if you trust in Him. Islam has nothing nor do anyother so called religions. True Christians have a “relationship” with Jesus and not a religion. Sharia law is a deception. Jesus is THE life, THE truth, and THE way. Trust in that and live!

I wonder how Sheik Muhammad Sallah is going to feed his millions. They can’t farm their own fields properly. They waste their great resource, the water from the Nile, and he thinks he is going to take over the world. Ha. Under Sharia the Suez will get filled back up with sand, they will drive camels and donkeys and their children will die of malnutrition. Their survival if there no help from the west will be from Russia and China, and let us see how nice those two countries will be to them. Comes to mind, Georgia, Tibet, and northern China. Again they have to depend on Infidels.
In addition their intelligentsia will leave. It is easier to leave Egypt with the porous borders of the desert. If Iran did not have Afghanistan on one side side, water and tough mountains to get over, most the Iranians would have left by now.
The key to America (USA) is to be energy independent period. Oil, refineries, nuclear energy, coal, solar, geothermal, wind etc …. Once we do that the world politics will change and the arabs will come to us for food. They will kill their idiot leaders and maybe stop this BS that is spewed.

Posted on June 7, 2012 at 6:56pm@ AKAIREY- The Scientific Paradigm Given in the Qur’an
The genesis of scientific thought is the sense of curiosity. Because people wonder how the universe and nature work, they investigate and become interested in science. But most people lack this curiosity. For them, the important things are not the secrets of the universe and nature but their own small worldly profits and pleasures. In communities where people who think in this way are in charge, science does not develop. Idleness and ignorance rule.
The Arab community before the Qur’an was of this type. But the verses of the Qur’an called upon them to think, to investigate and to use their minds, perhaps for the first time in their lives.
In one of the first revealed verses of the Qur’an, God drew the attention of the Arabs to the camel, a part of their everyday lives:
Have they not looked at the camel-how it was created?
Report Post »And at the sky-how it was raised up?
And at the mountains-how they were embedded?
And at the earth-how it is spread out?
So remind them! You are only a reminder. (Qur’an, 88: 17-21)
SurhanSurhan
Posted on June 7, 2012 at 7:01pm@ AKAIREY- In many other verses of the Qur’an, people are instructed to examine nature and learn from it because people can know God only by examining His creations. Because of this, in one verse of the Qur’an Muslims are defined as people who think about the creation of the heavens and the earth:
Those who remember God, standing, sitting and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth (saying): “Our Lord, You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to You! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire.” (Qur’an, 3: 191)
As a result of this, for a Muslim, taking an interest in science is a very important form of worship. In many verses of the Qur’an, God instructs Muslims to investigate the heavens, the earth, living things or their own existence and think about them. When we look at the verses, we find indications of all the main branches of science in the Qur’an.
For example, in the Qur’an, God encourages the science of astronomy:
He who created the seven heavens in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the All-Merciful. Look again-do you see any gaps? (Qur’an, 67: 3)
Report Post »SurhanSurhan
Posted on June 7, 2012 at 7:07pm@ AKAIREY- In another verse of the Qur’an, God encourages the investigation of astronomy and the composition of the earth that is the science of geology:
Do they not look at the sky above them? How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it? And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to God). (Qur’an, 50: 6-8)
In the Qur’an, God also encourages the study of botany:
It is He Who sends down water from the sky from which We bring forth growth of every kind, and from that We bring forth the green shoots and from them We bring forth close-packed seeds, and from the spathes of the date palm date clusters hanging down, and gardens of grapes and olives and pomegranates, both similar and dissimilar. Look at their fruits as they bear fruit and ripen. There are Signs in that for people who believe. (Qur’an, 6:99)
In another verse of the Qur’an, God draws attention to zoology:
You have a lesson in livestock… (Qur’an, 16:66)
Here is a Qur’anic verse about the sciences of archaeology and anthropology:
Have they not traveled in the earth and seen the final fate of those before them? (Qur’an, 30: 9)
Report Post »SurhanSurhan
Posted on June 7, 2012 at 7:17pm@ AKAIREY- In another verse of the Qur’an, God draws attention to the proof of God in a person’s own body and spirit:
There are certainly Signs in the earth for people with certainty; and in yourselves as well. Do you not then see? (Qur’an, 51: 20-21)
As we can see, God recommends all the sciences to Muslims in the Qur’an. Because of this the growth of Islam in history meant at the same time the growth of scientific knowledge.

Posted on June 8, 2012 at 10:28am@ CONSTITUTIONPARTY- When the Prophet Mohammed (pbh) began to preach Islam, the Arabs were a community of ignorant, superstitious tribes. However, thanks to the light of the Qur’an they were rescued from superstition and began to follow the path of reason. As a result of this, one of the most astonishing developments in world history took place and in a few decades Islam, which emerged from the small town of Medina, spread from Africa to Central Asia. The Arabs, who previously could not even rule a single city in harmony, came to be rulers of a world empire.
One of the most important facets of this empire was that it provided the stage for a scientific development previously unmatched in history. At a time when Europe was living through the Dark Ages, the Islamic world created the greatest legacy of scientific knowledge seen in history to that date. The sciences of medicine, geometry, algebra, astronomy and even sociology were developed systematically for the first time.
Great centers of religious learning were also centers of knowledge and scientific development. Such formal centers began during the Abbasid period (750-1258 A.D.) when thousands of mosque schools were established. In the tenth century Baghdad had some 300 schools. Alexandria in the fourteenth century had 12,000 students. It was in the tenth century that the formal concept of the Madrassah (school) was developed in Baghdad.

From algebra and coffee to guitars, optics and universities… the West owes to the People of the Crescent Moon… A millennium ago, while the West was shrouded in darkness, Islam enjoyed a golden age. Lighting in the streets of Cordoba when London was a barbarous pit; religious tolerance in Toledo while pogroms raged from York to Vienna. As custodians of our classical legacy, Arabs were midwives to our Renaissance. I would agree that most Christians would believe that Christianity holds the keys to solving the world’s problems. If only everyone followed Jesus, what a wonderful world it would be.
The difference is, and it is a HUGE difference, is that we don’t force people into believing – we invite.
Most things we are commanded to do, or not to do, by our religion are not laws of the land. With the exception of homosexual marriage, we do not force our beliefs on people. I would also add, however, that homosexuality is against the laws of nature, not just our God.
We are commanded to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the widow and fatherless. We are commanded to do good to others. You are free not to, and no law will be broken.
We are commanded not to commit adultery, not to work on the Sabbath, not covet. You are free to do those things, if you chose.
Some of the big things are laws; you cannot murder, tell a lie (under oath), steal.
Sharia attempts to put ALL of the commandments in the Koran into civil law and control every aspect of your life.
If you cannot see the difference between WISHING people would follow a religious way of life and FORCING people to follow, I suggest you move to Egypt.

I believe you when you say that other religions will be tolerated, but
If I am a Christian, and I blaspheme your religion, would I be subject to punishment? If so, then that is an example of a law that is not punishable in a Christian country (people do it every day on this site), but would be under Sharia.
In other words, I would be forced to conform to the precepts of your religion.
I, too, believe that if everyone lived in accordance with my religion then we would be a greater country, so I understand the desire this man has. I am not arguing whether my religion is better than yours. Surely you can see the difference. In America, all citizens are not expected to adhere to all the commandments of Jesus, as I’ve said. But under a Caliphate, all would be subject to the laws of the Qu’ran.

If I am a Christian living in a country that is under Shari’a law, and I blaspheme, will I be subject to punishment?
You have said things like: “a Muslim is not allowed to harm someone simply because that person has offended them or because a non-Muslim has disparaged Prophet Muhammad.”
I am talking about the government punishing me, not an individual.
Regarding this comment: “In a system where there is no Shari’a Law, bad people will do bad things.”, I take that to mean that a true Muslim would not disobey the Qur’an. I would agree. I also believe that a true follower of Jesus would not disobey His commandments, but we all fall short. Therefore, I think that even a true follower of Islam would on occasion ‘do bad things’.
Thanks again for your time.

Individuals will do bad things. It is the reason we end up with people like Usama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Kalid Sheikh Mohammed and others. They are probably (I don’t know, because I don’t know them) good practicing Muslims (by that I mean praying five times a day) however, they have done bad things and Allah will judge them for what they have done, just like he will judge Hitler (who, according to his biography, was a Christian/Catholic). Just like Allah will judge the Christian slave master that mistreated the slaves that he owned. Just like he will judge all the American presidents that called themselves Christian however, they allowed mistreatment of Black people, Brown people, and Red people.
Allah will judge all of His servants, He is well aware of what we do. Allah is as close to us, as our jugular vein. He sees all that we do. Shari’a Laws protect All people; men, women and children. Muslim as well as non-Muslim.
