Egyptian Coptics Launch the ‘Christian Brotherhood’ to Combat Discrimination & Islamist Political Domination

Egyptian Coptics Launch the Christian Brotherhood to Combat Discrimination & Islamist Political Domination

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi

The Muslim Brotherhood has been the focus of international angst since gaining power in Egypt, among other nations. Fears over theocratic plans that could further destabilize international relations and spawn greater internal strife have led to guarded reactions from Western nations and Egyptian minority groups, alike. Now, Coptic Christians, who have suffered already at the hands of extremists, are launching their own counter movement — the Christian Brotherhood.

(Related: ‘I Will Kill You, You Are Dirt’: Egypt‘s Coptic Christians Live in Fear as Islamist Gov’t Takes Control)

Now that Mohammed Morsi has won the presidential election and secured the throne of power, Coptic Christians are fearing for their future. To counter the influence that Islamists will have in parliament and through the presidency, they have launched the Christian Brotherhood as a counterbalance of sorts. Al Arabiya has more about the group’s formation and goals:

The idea was first initiated in 2005 by lawyer Mamdouh Nakhla, head of al-Kalema Center for Human Rights, and political analyst Michel Fahmi. It was then adopted by Amir Ayad, member of the Maspero Youths Union for Free Copts, the group established after clashes with military forces in front of the TV building in the Cairo district of Maspero left more than 20 Copts dead.

The Christian Brotherhood has branches in 16 governorates in Egypt as well as four branches outside Egypt, three in Europe and one in Australia.

While the group’s roots were set back in 2005, it wasn’t until recently that more action was taken to actually get the movement off the ground. In an interview with Al Arabiya, Fahmi talked about upcoming plans and stated the importance of Coptic Christians being able to “establish a body that can resist the Islamist tide.”

“We created our group to create a balance in the Egyptian political scene,” he said.

Islamist Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi

So, rather than seeking political power, the Christian Brotherhood’s focus is ensuring a balance so that everyone can live peacefully in Egypt. Fahmi was sure to state that his group isn’t competing with Muslims, per se, but that it has formed to combat the rise of political Islam. His members, in contrast to the Muslim Brotherhood’s adherents and leaders like Morsi, aren’t seeking power.

The fear that a religious state was taking form also fueled the decision to complete Christian Brotherhood plans. The overall aim, adds Ayad, is for an alliance that can foster a peaceful response to the Muslim Brotherhood and other similar groups seeking Islamist domination. The coalition will essentially chronicle and keep track of the anti-Coptic actions that unfold in Egypt.

“We will then use all available legal channels to make sure the perpetrators of these actions do not get away with them,” Ayad said.

Considering what Coptic Christians in the region have already faced, there looks to be a great deal of work and documentation ahead for the Christian Brotherhood.

I think we need to form a “Christian Brotherhood/Sisterhood” in this country!!! This doesn‘t mean adopting one another’s doctrine, but rather defending our faith and the right to it from the likes of Mr. Morsi and others of his ilk. We have only to look to the comments of the Muslim Congressman this past week who said our public schools should be patterned on madrassas to see what muslims have in mind for the Christians in the U.S. Once they’ve accomplished that, we can look forward to their homicide bombings during church services, murdering little children at non-muslim schools, and forcing non-muslim women to convert and be raped, and forced to raise the resulting children in the islamic perversion of faith. If you doubt this is their way, look at Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, etc. It’s time Christians defended themselves, and the first step is forming a cohesive group.

Why not start a division in the United States, the Christian Brotherhood would protect the right of all Christians throughout the world, especially in the Middle East. It is time for us to stand up against this muslim threat and no better way then to unite all Christians under the Christian Brotherhood.

We could propose a treaty with Egypt and Saudi Arabia giving Muslims and Mosques the same rights in the United States that Christians and Churches and Jews and Synagogues have in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Oh wait! That would mean that Muslims and Mosques would have no rights!

Fed up with Islam and Muslims. Their Qur’an tells them to wage jihad on all infidels. Don’t need them in my country or any western country. Expel them all, even the moderates (they have failed to reform Islam). I don’t think it can be reformed. A true Muslim is not moderate. That is according to their own holy book the Qur’an and its supporting texts.

Egypt once the center of Western Civilization, has been suffering under jihad assault for centuries. The
descent into dhimmitude and certain extinction of the Copts has been a long, slow, and painful
process witnessed by generations of Christendom WHO DID NOTHING as their brothers fell.

We are witnessing the last desperate gasps from a people who now find themselves a minority in a
country that was once theirs. And seeing that American foreign policy is being directed by the House of
Saud in celebration of the allah deity, I do not foresee any assistance being directed their way.

If anything, they will be told to practice restraint and to respect the democratic elections. Then they will
be killed, their culture will be erased, and everything will be replaced with Islam and Sharia…and more muslims.

Muslims are engaged in the same Jihad process right this very moment here in America but we are too deeply deceived to do what must be done.

They have been living under dhimitude status in Egypt since the Muslims took over and as bad as they had it under Mubarak they know the Muslim Brotherhood will be even worse.
I hope this Christian Brotherhood goes international because they need a loud voice and good representation.

The Islamists are not that sophisticated. That would take some ability to design a gas chamber, build it and implement a system to feed it. When in the last 500 years have they shown the ability to design and build anything without Europe or the west showng them how? They’ll just cut their heads off. I wonder if Obama would give Egyptian Christians asylum in this country? I already know the answer.

All the best to the Coptic Christians, and every support should be given to the Coptic Christians for standing up to the most awful dreadful treatment of a religious group. The majority Muslim people of Egypt, and especially the Muslim Brotherhood look to humiliate the Coptics. It’s appalling how Christians in Middle Eastern Muslim domination get treated. Talk about ghettos! The Muslims make them like in absolute squawler, and treat the Christians like pigs.

“But communists could not be wrong. After all, their knowledge was scientific, based on historical materialism, an understanding of the dialectical process in nature and human society, and a materialist (and thus realistic) view of nature. Marx has shown empirically where society has been and why, and he and his interpreters proved that it was destined for a communist end. No one could prevent this, but only stand in the way and delay it at the cost of more human misery. Those who disagreed with this world view and even with some of the proper interpretations of Marx and Lenin were, without a scintilla of doubt, wrong. After all, did not Marx or Lenin or Stalin or Mao say that. . . . In other words, communism was like a fanatical religion. It had its revealed text and chief interpreters. It had its priests and their ritualistic prose with all the answers. It had a heaven, and the proper behavior to reach it. It had its appeal to faith. And it had its crusade against nonbelievers.

What made this secular religion so utterly lethal was its seizure of all the state’s instrument of force and coercion and their immediate use to destroy or control all independent sources of power, such as the church, the professions, private businesses, schools, and, of course, the family.”

“Of course, in periods when the political state as such is born violently out of civil society, when political liberation is the form in which men strive to achieve their liberation, the state can and must go as far as the abolition of religion, the destruction of religion. But it can do so only in the same way that it proceeds to the abolition of private property, to the maximum, to confiscation, to progressive taxation, just as it goes as far as the abolition of life, the guillotine.”-Karl Marx; On The Jewish Question, 1844

Karl Marx believed for their to be true peace you would have to force Christians and Jews (and other religions) to stop practicing their beliefs, if that didn’t work it would require going as far as using the guilliotine to stop them. For he believed religion was an opium of the masses, that lead people from a world based more on science and reason. As long as they existed, the final dream of a secularist world based purely on reason could not be achieved. Thus genocide was required.
