Egyptian Cleric: Poverty Can be Solved by Selling Humans ‘Like Groceries’

Over the past week, a video has surfaced featuring prominent Egyptian cleric Salafi Shaykh Abi-Ishaq al-Huwayni. In a translation posted by Al Mutarjim on his blog Translating Jihad, al-Huwayni is quoted as advocating jihad (he says it’s “a real pleasure”) and encouraging listeners to ease financial problems through the capture and sale of human beings (he says they can be sold “like groceries”).
The Blaze reached out to Al Mutarjim, who has translated the audio into English. He told us that the almost-unbelievable translation is making its way around Arab-language web sites. He also credited Arab-American activist and author, Nonie Darwish, for sending the video along to him. You can hear the audio, complete with English subtitles, below:
Here’s the translation in copy form:
We are in the era of jihad. The era of jihad has come over us, and jihad in the path of Allah is a pleasure. It is a real pleasure. The companions (of the Prophet) used to compete to (perform jihad). The poverty that we’re in—is it not due to our abandonment of jihad? But if we could conduct one, two, or three jihadist operations every year, many people throughout the earth would become Muslims. And whoever rejected this da’wa, or stood in our way, we would fight against him and take him prisoner, and confiscate his wealth, his children, and his women—all of this means money. Every mujahid who returned from jihad, his pockets would be full. He would return with 3 or 4 slaves, 3 or 4 women, and 3 or 4 children. Multiply each head by 300 dirhams, or 300 dinar, and you have a good amount of profit. If he were to go to the West and work on a commercial deal, he would not make that much money. Whenever things became difficult (financially), he could take the head (i.e. the prisoner) and sell it, and ease his (financial) crisis. He would sell it like groceries. Of those who are–(cuts off)
This is concerning, considering Egypt’s ongoing political turmoil. Hopefully, this sort of proposal is considered fringe and not indicative of the potential impact Islamic radicalism could have in the region.

There’s no doubt that Islam is a gutter religion and no question that if we sought our own self interest we would have a much tighter immigration policy; however, it is not a legitimate threat to the Western World.
On the other hand, things going here in America in the halls of Congress and in the White House are a direct and ultimately far more serious threat to not only our US Constitution but to the entire Western Civilization.
We need to get the hell out of the Middle East and leave those people alone.. We‘ve been over meddling in their affairs at least since WW2 and they don’t appreciate it.. I can’t say that I blame them. Neither can we arm the Israelis to the teeth and then expect to remain neutral in our dealings in the ME…

I believe it to be true.. I can give you boatloads of evidence.. Tell me what you would need to believe it?
I read a book about 25 years ago entitled “En Route to Global Occupation” by Gary Kah. It was actually the 1st book I’d ever read cover to cover.. Read it in 2 nights, walked the isle at church the following Sunday, and was enrolled in College within a month. I don‘t find many Christian people who are informed doubt the fact that there is a World Gov’t conspiracy.. I mean it’s practically upon us already; however, it wasn’t until about 5 years ago that I saw the Jewish side of it..
I‘ve researched it thoroughly and there’s not a dobut in mind that it is almost entirely Jewish in origin.

Glenn just left out so much context, especially around Martin Luther.
Luther initially preached tolerance towards the Jewish people, convinced that the reason they had never converted to Christianity was that they were discriminated against, or had never heard the Gospel of Christ. The Jews were exempt from the church laws that Christians were bound by, most notably the law against charging interest.
Glenn fails to realize Jesus scattered the Jews for rejecting him, thus they have went from country to country, it’s their punishment. Who does Glenn think Jesus was referring to in Matthew 12:34 “a brood of vipers and children of the Devil”. Is Jesus anti-semite? I don’t think so. Glenn is preaching opposite of Christ’s teaching. I missed all of that. .You know I’ve always tried to give GB the benefit of the doubt but he really does seem to be pushing a type of Universalism almost like Catholicism in a sense.. I do not know much about Mormonism; however, I do know that Joseph Smith was in the Masonic Lodge and that a lot of his teachings originated from the Masonic Orders.. That probably explains GB’s quest for Universalism..
I don’t know it’s like I was saying earlier he’s really playing loose with the truth now and makes me wonder about his motives. I use to be very happy and use to think I had all things figured out.. Everything lined up for me but things that I’ve seen in the natural world mainly being the Jewish conspiracy really threw a monkey wrench into my belief system. I‘m still trying to sort things out but I stay mad as hell most of the time and I’ve probably only been to church about 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years.. I use to go 2-3 times a week for about 20 years!!

I pray for them and reach out to them to learn about Jesus and accept him but I do not partake in eithers quest to fight to build a shrine to a “God” who has yet to send the messiah. The Bible tells us not to be “yolked” like that, right?

The mouth speaks what is in the heart. If Jesus is not in your heart, you do not speak good, your evil, and the fruits from you will be evil. The vipers were the Jews Christ was speaking to face to face and he called them evil due to their rejection and persecution of him in the flesh. Today, Jews and Muslim both reject Jesus, correct?
Therefore, those who reject Christ produce false fruit, are evil, not of God. Jesus is lumping anyone who does not believe in him as evil and will not have eternal life. That is God’s word on the subject and if you find your heart disagreeing with that I ask you to rethink your position and understand Christ is the only way to the father. Christ is the only way to produce good fruit, and without Christ you produce rotten evil fruit.

I agree with you that those know of Christ and reject him need to repent. But what about those who have lived and are living that will never have the opportunity to learn of Christ? Are they without hope of salvation? God can saved people who never heard of Christ and never had faith in Him. How is this possible?
This is the really great news of the Gospel. Yes, the grace that Christ offers is being made available to all who will accept it, including those who lived and died without the chance to hear the message of Jesus Christ. It’s the most wonderful news!

Jesus was speaking specifically to the Pharisees. They were the ruling elite of the day. They were only interested in protecting their little corner of the hierarchy. They were not interested in the populace at all. That’s why Jesus called them vipers. Jesus called them on their elitist attitude and that’s what caused the run up to His crucifixion. From that time forward Jesus was a “marked man”. At that point in time there was nothing to accept or reject. Christ was a preacher at that moment in time. His confrontation of the Pharisees challenged their status in the community and consequently sealed Jesus fate. Jesus knew their heart and called them on it. He knew what their motivation was as the elite and He called them on it. You cannot possibly know any man’s heart. If you could you would not insinuate into the conversation that I disagree with God‘s word or that I don’t understand salvation through Christ. It is faith in Christ and who He was and what He did that brings redemption to the sinner. Salvation is by God’s Grace alone based on your faith in His Son Jesus as the sacrificial lamb of God. That His blood paid your sin debt. That he died and on the 3rd day rose again in His physical body and now sits at the right hand of God. That Faith is what brings God’s Grace. I understand full well that Christ took my place on the Cross when I should have paid for my sins. Instead “Behold the Lamb of God” .

To be clear, if Israel is attacked you do not support military action from the USA to protect Israel? This is what I gather from your first paragraph. I differ with you in the sense I view a persons religion, who they believe in, as first priority, politics second. I also differ from you in regards to Islam. Islam calling for Israeli destruction openly is less of a threat then the those secretly working from with in to destruct a country while being “friendly”.
Shouldn’t we tell both little brothers, Israel and Islam, to knock it off and be free like Americans and coinhabitate together? It seems as if some are choosing one brother over another brother, when both brothers reject Christ. You do know Israel wants Islam out of Israel just as Islam wants Jews out of their “Palestine”. Why is the one openly confessing their evil desires better then the ones manipulating for their secret desires?

First, is this collectivism? I say yes.
Second, you do not believe the “first” covenant dealt with salvation? Do you not believe any from the Old testament who followed the commandments and kept faith that the Messiah was coming will have salvation? I believe they are and that was the whole point. Those who have heard of Christ and his sacrifice for our sin and reject him are not of Christ. I think we agree on this. Accepting Christ is to believe in him and repentance is asking his forgiveness each time we fall short of his Glory.
Those who have not heard of Christ will be judged accordingly for God’s judgement is just and righteous.
In todays time it is hard to find many who have not heard of Christ. Having been to all but one continent I have found more know of him then I imagined. It was a blessing to see it! The problem is a lot hear of Christ but still reject him thru pride, arrogance, etc..

Of the various factions that emerged under Hasmonean rule, three are of particular interest: the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes.
The Pharisees
The most important of the three were the Pharisees because they are the spiritual fathers of modern Judaism. Their main distinguishing characteristic was a belief in an Oral Law that God gave to Moses at Sinai along with the Torah. The Torah or Written Law was akin to the U.S. Constitution in the sense that it set down a series of laws that were open to interpretation. The Pharisees believed that God also gave Moses the knowledge of what these laws meant and how they should be applied. This oral tradition was codified and written down roughly three centuries later in what is known as the Talmud.
The Pharisees also maintained that an afterlife existed and that God punished the wicked and rewarded the righteous in the world to come. They also believed in a messiah who would herald an era of world peace.
Pharisees were in a sense blue-collar Jews who adhered to the tenets developed after the destruction of the Temple; that is, such things as individual prayer and assembly in synagogues.
The Sadducees
The Sadducees were elitists who wanted to maintain the priestly caste, but they were also liberal in their willingness to incorporate Hellenism into their lives, something the Pharisees opposed. The Sadducees rejected the idea of the Oral Law and insisted on a literal interpretation of the Written Law;

The Sadducees disappeared around 70 A.D., after the destruction of the Second Temple (see below). None of the writings of the Sadducees survived, so the little we know about them comes from their Pharisaic opponents.
These two “parties” served in the Great Sanhedrin, a kind of Jewish Supreme Court made up of 71 members whose responsibility was to interpret civil and religious laws.
The Dead Sea Sect
A third faction, the Essenes, emerged out of disgust with the other two. This sect believed the others had corrupted the city and the Temple. They moved out of Jerusalem and lived a monastic life in the desert, adopting strict dietary laws and a commitment to celibacy.
Understand this is today’s Jewish teaching and their own words, not mine. Jews today follow the Pharisees, the same Pharisees called Vipers and evil by Christ..
