Egyptians Brace for Food, Gas & Money Shortages Amidst Unrest

As anti-government protests rage in cities across Egypt for the sixth day, locals have begun stockpiling food as store shelves go empty.

According to Arabic-language news daily Al-Arabiya, Cairo is already facing shortages of bread and vegetables and food imports have been almost completely suspended. Meanwhile, the future is uncertain for the 70 percent of Egyptians who live on government-subsidized bread.”

CNN also reports that banks are closed and ATM machines are empty. Many gas stations are also running low on petrol:

I just hope our Country isn’t stupid enough to keep giving Egypt $1.5 billion every year and compound it with sending them boat loads and plane loads of food and supplies, so they can continue to badmouth us. Let ‘em dig it out of the sand.

Americans Brace for Food, Gas & Money Shortages Amidst Unrest and Communist Agenda under the Obama Administration. The American public is looking for food, clothing and fuel during this harsh winter as Obama’s planned parenthood kiils off the future and the Chinese are forcing the Obama moves. Hillary Clinton is silent because she wants to be president and Bill is looking for love. Not to worry The Van and SOROS show is on the road looking for the last plantation.

This whole story emerging about Egypt is confusing, who’s behind it riots, who are the people, who will stand in the end, what’s our place in all of this. With the days that have gone by there’s more and more info and we find out some awful stuff about us sleeping with the enemy. I start to feel bad about our country backing a tyrant and all. Then I see more and more stories about how the Egyptians have NEVER liked us long before we were involved with them. We were dogs to them from the get go. Our involvement in Egypt I believe is more about location, the canal and what comes and goes in that canal not what happens to the people. Egypt’s involvement with us is more about $$’s & military training–not what happens to our people. It’s been a win win sort of. What Mubarak has done to his people is of no concern to us because we have business dealings with Egypt just as what past Presidents have done to America and it’s people is of no concern to Mubarak. His only concern is his business deals with us.

I guess what it should boil down to is do we as a nation do business with countries that have human rights issues with it’s people? If so, then we shouldn’t be doing business with the majority of countries out there. But, militarily speaking, strategically speaking in order to protect our country I can see why we would want to be involved with certain countries–it would be in our best interest–damned the human rights issue thing because it’s about our rights as humans to survive also is it not? And while there are countries out there that have people desiring to kill us–all of us in America–then I am in full agreement that we need to be sleeping with enemy.

Perhaps this is the muslim way to make us all feel bad about ourselves once again, to bring shame upon America. Showing us where we have gone wrong, what atrocities we have committed–I don’t think we have committed any more atrocities to the Egyptian people than what Mubarak has done and what is coming for them that want what will fill the vacuum!

Another cow here on the outside of the fence thinking outside of the box. Your thoughts?

All this and more coming to a country near YOU and I! Some have warned that this monment was coming and now it may be here very soon. Hope you all heeded the warnings and stocked up on essentials because this may spread out of control soon. The Muslim Brotherhood are no Cub Scouts and they wish ALL of us evil. Watch for the Suez Canal to be blocked if they get their way. Then it’s “Katy bar the door” as oil spikes to $200/barrel and and all commodities prices spike due to transportation costs and shipping shortages. This may be Obama’s moment to make his move as unprepared people panic the world over, including the U.S.

Personally I am surprised that there are no more comments here on this article. Beck and BQI have been calling, for months, for people to get ready for the coming insurrection. Recent events in Egypt only confirm what could happen in the US. BQI has two special Editions to discuss this. One runs today on the significance of the 2012 date. The other ran in November and is now under our BQI-Opedia link.

    Begin to prepare, please.

Hey United we stand, Is Soros going to send food to feed what he started. Why are the young always the ones to do the dirty work. And why didn’t they do nothing before this. I am also sick of the US is somewhat to blame. We have Appointed idiots running this country. And some young brain washed ones here. Evolution will never change. Someone will always have an Agenda or Something to riot about. I hope God is taking all of this in.

The telling statement here is “70 percent of Egyptians who live on government-subsidized bread”. Our country is getting close to having 50% of the population receiving government aid, so just wait until our government realizes they can’t sustain that – riots coming to a town near you.

Correct. If they run out of water they will be in trouble, but whoever fills that void will be the one who can lead them. Pretty sure the Muslim Brotherhood thought this out. Just like Hamas was the stabilizer in Lebbanon..Just like Obama will be the stabilizer when the SHTF here. The bad guys can just take food and water and the good men lose…

And, we have about a two-day supply of food in our grocery stores! Food insurance, anyone? At one time, I had a 1,000 gal in ground gasoline storage tank. You cannot imagine how stabilizing it was to use it between fill-ups (about every 18 months for me at the time, or more frequently if I anticipated price spikes). Of course, I had to worry about liabilty for any leaks (never had any) and theft (lock used to get whacked open from time to time after I had a call to the local volunteer fire department–I had a casual chat with the fire chief, and the problem went away). And, I’d try and time the $2,000 fill-ups so they wouldn’t coincide with a heating oil delivery! Whew!!! I used to travel a lot and was often away for a few weeks or more–but I sure was self-sufficient when I got home!
