Egypt’s Islamist Parliament Voted Unanimously to Oust Israeli Ambassador From Country

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s Islamist-dominated parliament unanimously voted on Monday in support of expelling Israel’s ambassador in Cairo and halting gas exports to the Jewish state.

The motion is largely symbolic, because only the ruling military council can make such decisions, and it is not likely to impact Egypt’s relations with Israel. But it signals the seismic change in Egypt after the ouster of longtime leader and Israel ally Hosni Mubarak a year ago in a popular uprising that ended his 29 years in power.

The vote was taken by a show of hands on a report by the chamber’s Arab affairs committee that declared Egypt will “never” be a friend, partner or ally of Israel. The report described Israel as the nation’s “number one enemy” and endorsed what it called Palestinian resistance “in all its kinds and forms” against Israel’s “aggressive policies.”

There was no immediate comment from Israel on the vote by the People’s Assembly, the Egyptian parliament’s lower house.

Egypt became the first Arab nation to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. The treaty came six years after the two Middle East neighbors fought the last of their four wars. However, the accord produced a “cold” peace, and most Egyptians still view Israel as their nation’s enemy.

There have been bouts of tension in relations between the two neighbors, mostly over Israel’s perceived reluctance to proceed in good faith with peace talks with the Palestinians, but leaders of the two nations have consistently kept open channels of communication.

The parliamentary report also called for the recall of Egypt‘s ambassador in Israel and a revision of Egypt’s nuclear power policy in view of the widespread suspicion that Israel has a nuclear arsenal of its own.

“Revolutionary Egypt will never be a friend, partner or ally of the Zionist entity (Israel), which we consider to be the number one enemy of Egypt and the Arab nation,” said the report. “It will deal with that entity as an enemy, and the Egyptian government is hereby called upon to review all its relations and accords with that enemy.”

Monday’s vote by parliament could serve as an indication of what may lie ahead.

The Islamists who dominate the 508-seat chamber, as well as the largely powerless upper house, would like to see the president‘s wide executive powers curtailed in the country’s next constitution, while boosting those of the legislature.

If they have their way, statements like Monday’s could impact on relations with Israel.

The parliament‘s vote could also give the generals who succeeded Mubarak an added incentive to keep the office of the president as the nation’s most powerful institution and ensure that Egypt’s next leader is beholden to the military.

The ruling military council is led by Mubarak’s defense minister for 20 years, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi. Many of its members are veterans of Egypt’s last war with Israel in 1973, but they also have worked to maintain the peace since 1979.

The Muslim Brotherhood, which controls just under half of the seats in the powerful People’s Assembly, wants a president with an Islamist background.

This is just what Obama wanted, he has helped all the radical muslims gain control of the middle east – they are trying to build a power even bigger than Russia or China and even the US – oh, Obama is downsizing our military power! Folks – we need to speak out on just what this jester in the White House is trying to do to our beloved country!

This is the “Arab Spring” that the foolish and dangerous man in the White House wished for last year. You should be careful what you wish for and in this case he got it. Obama is the worst President in the history of the country and he is dragging it into the toilet. God help us all if he is re-elected in November.

The second that the ambassador’s foot hits the step onto the plane, the last dime of US foreign aid should be heard clinking on the tarmac. Then send all the former Egyptian aid to Israel as an increase, and make damned sure the Egyptians know it.

The last time Egypt threatened Israel, on 27 May 1967 Nasser stated “Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight.” So how did that work out for ya Nasser? Israel rested on the 7th day as they kicked the sand out of Egypt’s a$$ along with Jordan and Syria and even some Iraqi soldiers in Jordan.

      Those people never learn.

Then ‘Revolutionary Egypt’ will have few friends around the world, other than other nations who believe in and espouse violence, murder and bloodshed.

Tell me, my true Egyptian friends, do you honestly feel free now? If the ‘revolutionaries’ successfully ‘wiped Israel off the map’, how long do you suppose it would be before the Egyptian people were murdered in their homes, like the poor families in Syria? Do you honestly believe that the revolutionaries would allow you to live if you are a Christian, gay, or a female with an education or driver’s license? Wake up before you subject your children to a lifetime of slavery.
Meanwhile, the Jews and Christians in Israel and the United States will pray for your safety and wisdom. We are not your enemy.

This is no surprise. The world has given the Middle East to demons.
And demons want no part of GOD’S Chosen LAND and PEOPLE.

The story stated that the Muslim Brotherhood wants a president with an Islamist background.
They can have our Muslim president.
They can also have Huma Abedin, Hillary’s very close aid.
I’ve read numerous articles that states she has ties with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim Sisterhood.

The Islamic people claim their so called religion is peaceful.
WAKE UP People! It’s almost too late.

Ah yes, and this was the “peaceful” movement that the Obama administration supported. Had they voted to expel the South African ambassador for being black, then perhaps the Administration would have seen the intolerant radicals for what they are.

Because Snow, most Americans have never felt a real pang of hunger and not known how, where or when (if ever) they would get their next meal. They have never had to pick a side when it was a matter of life and death. They have never seen the terror in a child’s eyes as bombs have dropped all around them, or experienced the lifting of The Spirit by calling to God in a time of true despair.

We tend to look at people who have experienced these things as victims, but this experience can also be a gift. If it doesn’t kill you it indeed makes you stronger. Be well.
