Elderly UK Woman Allegedly Forced to Find New Doctor Because of ‘Carbon Footprint’

83-year old Avril Mulcahy was shocked when she allegedly received a letter from West Road Surgery — where she has been a patient for 30 years– telling her she has 28 days to find a new doctor because of her “carbon footprint” and “green traveling issues,” The Daily Mail reports.
The letter reportedly read:
Our greatest concern is for your health and convenience but also taking into consideration green traveling issues re carbon footprints [sic] and winter weather conditions, we feel it would be advisable for patients to register at clinics nearer to where they live.
We would therefore be very grateful if you could make the necessary arrangements to re-register at another practice.
[...]
We have informed Essex Contractor Services and after a period of 28 days you will be removed from our list. Bear this in mind, as you will need to have found a doctor within that time.
We would like to take this opportunity to send you our best wishes for the future.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Avril Mulcahy lives one mile from her clinic.
The elderly woman says the entire situation has left a “sour taste” in her mouth.
“When I read through the letter, I found it absolutely ridiculous they were saying the reason was to decrease their carbon footprint. I have been a patient at the practice for 30 years now, and there has never been any problem before.”
Mulcahy recently made a complaint about her doctor and suspects that it may have something to do with her abrupt dismissal.
“To be treated like this, just because I live too far away or for what I feel is a reaction to my complaint, is disgraceful. It feels like they are just coming up with an excuse to get rid of me.”
She continued: “If they really cared, they could have found me a new practice instead of just basically saying do it yourself. It is a great worry to me as I am elderly and need to get repeat prescriptions for medication…This is really a stress I could do without.”

The head of risk and customer service for South Essex’s National Health Service (NHS) responded: “We would advise all patients who have concerns about any aspect of local NHS care to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 5879159 for help and advice.”

It’s very simple,more oil and natural gas on the market lowers price,fire the Marxist heathen in November and eliminate forever nut job environmentalists and our economy will sky rocket.

It doesn’t have “something” to do with her abrupt dismissal. It has EVERYTHING to do with it.
She complained. Got a doctor in trouble. The rest of the Doc‘s in the practice don’t want anything to do with her. So they find a convenient, politically correct way of getting rid of a “Problem Patient” while painting her as an anti-green right wing thug.

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 3:15pmImagine if this idea of a too large carbon footprint were applied to all aspects of our lives. Could you only work somewhere that you could walk? I’d lose my job. It’s only 15 minutes by car but too far to walk. I live 2 1/2 miles from the nearest bus stop and it doesn’t go across the river to my job in another state. I would have to walk 5 miles to my doctor’s office and 4 to church. The closest hospital that kills people left and right so I don’t go there is still 15 miles away. I would have no job, no choices and it would ruin my life.

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 2:31pmC’mon folks. Read between the lines. Those doctors are just using a politically correct way of getting rid of a problem patient. She screwed over one of the doc’s in that practice (rightly or wrongly)? who knows. It’s likely that she called a medical licensing board and now he is up to his ears in paperwork and under an investigation.
The doc in question damned sure doesn’t want her back, and the rest of the doc’s in the practice are gunshy as well. They can‘t just get rid of her because I’m sure the UK has some sort of foolish health abandonment laws like they do here.
So instead of sending a letter telling her “We ain’t touching you with a 10 foot pole, don’t every come back!” which would have just put her in a better position for a lawsuit, and got the liberal press over there fired up. They responded smartly by engineering a letter that makes her look like a planet destroying right wing monster, and gets them sympathy from the tree huggin’ liberal crowd which makes up the majority of the UK now.
I’d bet dollars to donuts, that this is the case.

They usually drop the patient due to the patient’s continued non-compliance with medical treatment. The reasons are spelled out in no uncertain terms as to why the patient is being dropped from the practice. That’s to protect the physician in the event John Edwards or some other parasitic attorney decides to sue. Then again, that’s here in the States. Maybe they can’t do that in the UK.

The health care system over there is like having a goverment job over here. It’s a lifetime appointment. I‘ll bet that she hasn’t gone over the line and did anything that would warrant a dismissal, but once she nailed one of the Doc‘s in that clinic the rest of the docs don’t want anything to do with her either. This is creatively using the UK’s politically correct/green/quasi socialistic goverment against itself.
I could be wrong. The Doc’s in that practice could actually be a bunch of bark eating, new age,love-the-world freaks, instead of a group of greedy, capitolistic dogs who just want to pay off their massive student loans, thrive, and do well in life…DAMN THEM!…anyway it just sounds too perfect for this to be legit.

This is how they think of anyone past forty, Wasn’t the chart from a few years ago that they would concentrate on 14 to 40? I am not 100% SURE ON THOSE NUMBERS. that is unless it comes to them or their loved ones. Or the groups that are magiclly exempt like the unions. I bet this will apply to every conservative, Christian, and your every day Jew. Not sure how that will work with the Jewish people here in this country since they for the most part have no problem turning their back on their people and continue to support BHO. Al I know is that I for one will be one of those folks denied meds and procedures, due to my age, health and political views. I would not be considered worth the risk or expense.

Or they are too blind to think that it wouldn’t happen here. Socialized medicine means that you are at the mercy of the government. Can you imagine a doctor‘s office or even a business telling you that they would rather you go somewhere else because you live too far away and you’re burning too much fuel by getting there?

As someone who served Queen and Country for 6 years and has always been extremely proud of my homeland it sickens me to say that I have grown increasingly ashamed and disgusted with where politicians (from both sides of the political aisle) have lead a once great and proud country. - patients sitting in ambulances for hours parked in front of hospitals that have no room in ERs
- hundreds of patients dying in hospitals from malpractice, negligence, and general lack of compassion
- patients waiting a long time for treatment only to be booted from the “queue” upon seeking private services
And the list goes on.
Wake up America, this is our future if we don’t get rid of Obama and Obamacare.
