Election 2012: How About a Former Pizza Guy

Herman Cain is not a household name. But it might be in a year.
Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, is flirting with the idea of a 2012 presidential run says the Daily Caller. And he’s hoping to tap into the grassroots, Tea Party movement if he should take the presidential plunge. “They’re ready for a non-establishment candidate,“ Cain told the DC at a recent ”Spending Revolt” rally in Florida. He has become a sought after figure on the Tea Party speaking circuit.
He might just have the experience grassroots supporters crave. His strong resume, according to his website, includes a ten year stint leading Godfather’s Pizza, and he’s the past chairman and member of the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He also has a daily radio program in Georgia, giving him a microphone to explain his potential platform.
What might that platform be based on? “I’m not a politician. I’m a problem solver,” Cain told the DC. “The people of Washington DC — when was the last time they fixed anything? Name one. They haven’t fixed anything. That’s what frustrates me and a lot of people.”
“Political arrogance, reckless spending and passing reckless legislation have defined this administration and Congress,” Cain adds on his website. “Voters are fed up and waking up – and will show up at the polls in November 2010 and beyond.”
The decision to run, however, has not been finalized. He’s already lost at least one political bid — a 2004 Georgia Senatorial attempt. Money, supporters, and this November’s elections will all factor in to the decision for 2012. For now, he’ happy to give speeches and preach fiscal responsiblity.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 10:32amHerman Cain would be awesome for president, he is articulate, confrontational, and experienced with business. I stand by the fact that the Consersative ticket, it will have to be in the Republican Party, the conservative ticket has to pick itself now. Workout the details and NOT run against each other in the primary. Romney and Huckabee destroyed each other in the primary, split the conservative vote and gave way to McCain. The country won’t stand through another RINO or Obama for 4 more years. Cain/Romney, Cain/Huckabee, Cain/Palin, Cain/McCrystal, just give us something respectable, articulate, and gutsy. No more PANSIES please!!!

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 10:16amI haven‘t heard his politics yet but from the small pieces I’ve picked up in prior speeches & in the real media I think we might have out guy. It seems as if he is straight to the point & honest in his remarks. He also seems like the kind of guy who won’t put up from the crappy bills coming from Capitol Hill. If he continues to speak as I’ve heard him this is a guy I could get behind & support. I’ll be watching this man closely. I’m waiting for that Reagan Conservative to come. How about a Cain/Christie 2012. If Mr. Cain follows the Conservative path I think Obama would cede the presidency rather than lose in a landslide.

We can like more than one person for President until the time that we are required to vote for one only. I know it’s hard for you to comprehend, but we don’t believe in political messiahs. We believe in good men, grounded in conservative principles, who will represent us not try to control us. We have many such people in our movement.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 5:27pmI think Contrarianthinker is trying to get ppl to start thinking and observing a candidate before you jump to backing him. Basicly take your time in making an edicated decision. We dont need another snap decision on a candidate who says the right things people want to hear. Instead look at his background, character and dedication to the constitution and country.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 10:04amHerman Cain is AMAZING. He stood up to Pres. Clinton when they were trying to pass HillaryCare & told him that his mathematical calculations were incorrect about the money it would cost (Herman has his master’s degree in Mathematics). He’s on WSB 750 in Atlanta M-F 7-10pm. He’s also said that if he decides to run “it’ll take the race card off the table immediately”. This guy is up there w/Chris Christie as far as common sense fiscally responsible guys. They would be UNSTOPPABLE in getting this country back in order.

He has so much diverse experience and he stands for the principles that true conservatives are thirsting for. Plus he’s a Washingon outsider, which I think will help him. He’s a rocket scientist. Herman Cain is a combination of Albert Einstein, ZigZiglar & Rush Limbaugh. Posted on September 24, 2010 at 1:13pmMr. Cain put it this way:
When a liberal tries to reply to a question posed by a conservative, he commits a SIN. SIN is an acronym and I’ll explain what the letters stand for.
“S” stands for “Shifting the blame.” When a conservative points out something that the Obama Administration does is wrong, or what Congress did is wrong, a liberal is quick to shift the blame. “If it weren’t for the mess that Bush left us….”
“I” stands for “Ignoring the facts.” That‘s the next step in a liberal’s argument. The liberals say that Bush raised the National Debt by $3.2 trillion, but there were two wars being fought and this increase happened over the course of 8 years. Obama will have raised the National Debt by 1.2 Trillion on the healthcare bill alone. He’s only been in office less than a year!
“N” stands for “Name calling.” Finally, when liberals see that they’re getting nowhere with their conservative friends, they resort to name calling. Fear-mongerer, war-mongerer, greedy-capitalists…..
