A couple from the Midwest was set to take their relationship to new heights. The marriage proposal that occurred over Sellersburg, Ind., in a hot air balloon was electrifying — literally.

The hot air balloon collided with a power line, rendering the pilot of the balloon unconscious, according to CNN. The Lousville, Ky., pilot Dallas Beall, who owns the balloon, was trying to land the flying basket when he hit the lines. According to CNN, the bride-to-be was shocked as well when Beall fell on her. The unidentified groom-to-be performed CPR on Beall and all three were later taken to the hospital.

We hit power lines in Napa Valley. Unluckily for the pilot, the three men on board were retired air force pilots. When the FAA took the pilot to court, he said “Well, it wasn’t that serious. No one was killed.”. Glad we missed his cutoff for “serious ‘. Balloons are dangerous! We picked the pilot with the most years of experience. Didn’t help.

When we went hot air ballooning our pilot told us “The most important thing is to aim big when trying to land”. Since a hot air balloon can only rotate on its axis, you’re essentially at the mercy of the wind. You aim for large open spaces when trying to land. Sounds like this pilot didn’t. Lesson learned.

Did you feel that? Was it good for you, too?

Unless the power lines were moving, it wasn’t a collision. A collision requires that both objects be in motion. A bike can collide with a moving car. A bike can also crash into a car that is not moving.

Moving relative to what? Relative to the center of the galaxy, both the power lines and balloon were moving. Relative to the balloon, the power lines were moving. Relative to the lines, the balloon was moving.

She still said yes after that? Good luck with that marriage. I would have took back my proposal and told her to take a hike. Talk about a stop sign! LOL
