If Elmo’s mother really loved him, she’d be packing him a lunch from home.

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 12:20pmPoint, Kate. The White House is targeting children, exploiting their unsophisticated minds. Using a toy to program their thought patterns. “We aren’t trying to tell people what to think, we’re just showing them how (to think).”
Report Post »The children aren’t mature enough to realize that by turning over yet another responsibility to the gvt they are laying precedent for another to be removed. And so it goes, chipping away at freedom the way ice and cold chip at an overpass, until eventually it all falls down.
I often pray that the almighty God get me off this mudball planet -full of braindead lemmings- as soon as possible.

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 12:03amI always liked Elmo the best. I did understand at the time it was taxpayer funded and I hated that, now we have the power coming in Jan 2011 so let’s start by stopping propaganda funded by taxpayer money. That would be PBS, NBR and so on.
Let’s hope we have the good guys on the way. These good guys almost got away with pork again and we stopped them but they managed to cut some of the funds that go to the Social Security Fund. You know the FUND that they steal from all of the time to pay for pork that pays for lobbyist.
Though it is not an entitlement, they, the Progressive RINOs of the Bush era, are still trying to take it away again now that they have control of the House. They are ignoring us again,… the remaining Bush team must go in 2012 along with the rest of the Commies/Progressives

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 12:41amCut the Marxism nonsense. Parents can send their kids to school with Twinkies and lard if they want. Nobody – read: “the Government” – is forcing kids to eat anything. They can eat anything their parents send them with. Put the candy and donuts in one of those little paper bags, and give it to you child in the morning. No problem. No one is preventing that. It’s cheaper besides.
But all of you want to remove the responsibility for your child’s diet and give it to the Nanny State government. You want to give your kids money – because you’re too lazy to make lunch for them – and let the Government provide them with candy and Twinkies. We’re already among the fattest nations in the World, and you want “the Government” to support that rather than take responsibility for your child’s diet and argue with them about their health. Nanny State in reverse: let the Government decide what my child can eat.
Pathetic. For Goodness sakes, if you want your child to eat fat, then give them fat and candy to school. You will save money AND your child will get the fat and sugar they want. Win, win situation.

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 12:58amIt‘s NOT what the kids are eating that is bad it’s what they are adding to it that is.. Year ago they ate BUTTER/LARD, lots of bread to fill you up, potatoes, meat, veggies, and SUGAR.. yet there were few over weight people and even they were over weight they lived LONG lives.. Now I know MORE healthy OLD people than young ones.. why is that?? Now they have Elmo telling kids how to eat since the parents are to LAZY to cook a meal.. Here‘s my guess with all the parents out of work kids will be losing weight since there’s a parent in the home to COOK for a change.. and tell the kids to turn off ELMO and go out and play..

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 10:33amQuestion – why do all of you make fun of the First Lady’s mission to get children to eat better – I don’t understand that. We have an obesity problem in the country – look at your stomach – are you too fat – I know I am. And our overeating society begin their bad habits in childhood – in school. If those of you who are parents would teach your kids good eating habits or took a interest in what the school feeds your kids, then the 1st Lady wouldn’t have to make this Nutrition deal her pet project. Type 2 diabetes is currently an epidemic among children in this country and diabetes is a disease that can ruin a person’s life – it is as dangerous for health as smoking! And once you have it – you have to deal with it forever! Do you want your kids to have to deal with that disease for their entire life – if not, teach them how to eat better so someone else doesn’t have too. It take a village! http://wp.me/pYLB7-pF

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 11:21amWalk, most people are fat because they don’t get enough excercise. You can give someone all the healthy food in the world and they will just have skinny fat (meaning flabby muscles). Get the kids off their butts and send them outside to play. We all ate “unhealthy” meals full of mashed potatoes and gravy when we were kids and we didn’t have this obesity problem. Maybe some of the parents that work in offices all day sitting at a desk could consider going outside with them.

Posted on December 18, 2010 at 10:36pmUNTAMABLEKATE – you are 100% correct. If you take in more calories than you burn through exercise, you gain weight. If you take in less than you burn, you lose weight.
But based on your previous post I assume you don’t want “the Government” to require more exercise in school, because that would be a government takeover. So what do you believe? The school system (Government) should force kids to exercise? Should the school system (Government) provide donuts and Twinkies to kids for lunch?
Kate, we’re one of the fattest nations in the world and way down on the rankings for math and science scores (like 20th among industrialized democracies). What’s your answer? Keep the government out of the way?
Report Post »Wayner
Posted on December 19, 2010 at 7:21amOur government is just too good to us. We don’t have to do anything but sit back and let them provide money and food and housing and free education.
Report Post »The best part is that all that’s required of us is to start bloody revolutions in the streets and then after we go through a short period of idealogical “cleansing” it will be Utopia for those of us left. Unless of course we find ourselves on the lower end and have to slave for the upper end.

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 11:30amKids are fat because years ago the Feminazis convinced women that it was far more noble to have a career than to raise their children. Now the only meal prepparation most do is to pick up fast food and to give their child whatever he wants to make up for the guilt of not being around. It’s all part of “the bottom up” strategy they’ve been working for years. This lets the State raise your child (along with the TV) so the indoctrination begins. It also creates the undisciplined little monsters we read about so often who run amok because they were raised by “The Village” rather than their parents. This is one of those singular events that got us where we are now as a society.
