Emails Reveal NYC Mayor’s Office Offered Behind-the-Scenes Support for Ground Zero Mosque

Internal emails obtained by Judicial Watch suggest a number of top deputies in Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office “went to great lengths” to help the developers of the proposed Ground Zero mosque, including drafting a letter addressed to the community board on their behalf.  The New York Daily News reports:

A flurry of emails released by City Hall yesterday revealed the coaching Hizzoner’s brass gave to the imam pushing to build the mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf.

At one point, Community Affairs Commissioner Nazli Parvizi even drafted a letter for Rauf’s wife, Daisy Khan, to send to Community Board 1, which was voting on the project.

“As a Muslim-American and a New Yorker, I take my role in keeping New York the greatest City in the world serious,” the draft said. Parvizi also provided the contact information for the board.

Another email shows that Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Fatima Shama expedited a temporary public assembly permit for the group to conduct prayers in January at the site, known as 51 Park.

In addition, Fox News notes that in January, the group asked the mayor’s commissioner of immigrant affairs, Fatima Shama, for help in acquiring an additional permit to hold worship services at the proposed site.  A few hours later, the mayor’s office responded that the problem had been fixed.  Khan also reached out to Shama in May asking for “guidance on how to tackle the opposition” as the public’s anger over the proposed mosque began to grow.

A spokesman for the mayor’s office said the it is the responsibility of the city to extend such help to religious groups.  “It is nothing out of the ordinary.  This is what the Community Affairs Unit does,” the spokesman told the Wall Street Journal, citing assistance the mayor’s office previously gave Catholic officials in drafting a letter to community boards about a papal visit.

But Judicial Watch says the uncovered emails demonstrate the city government went too far with its assistance.  “The mayor’s office was at the beck and call of the ground zero mosque folks,” Fitton said. “He obviously feels strongly about it, but he shouldn’t turn the taxpayers of New York into advocates for this group.”

    Almost everyone in Govt. is trying to get the pledge removed from schools. A kid can’t even say grace to themselves in a public school without getting in trouble, and then they go support this. When iv’e been told in the past to “Pick and choose” my battles based on importance, this shows me where I, as a christian stand in this country.

      Historically, the prime targets have been revered catherdrals or structures that represent the seat of culture or power.

      While the USA is primarily Christian, it is not a theocracy. In the mind of Bin Ladin and many in Islam the World Trade Center was our national cathedral.

      Did I mention that the desecrations always culminate in a mosque replacing that which previously occupied the site.

      The choice of the name Cordoba is very significant. When Spain fell to Islam, a certain building in Cordoba, one of great significance, was replaced with a mosque.

      Do some research regarding Cordoba, Spain and the Muslim conquest and “occupation.” It’s just one of many examples of Muslim conquest and desecration.

      Yea, Cordoba would be a dandy name for a “peace” mosque at ground zero.

      They have a constitutional right to build. I and others have a constitutional right to protest. Or maybe we should re-consider the part of the constitution that gaurantees the right to build in the same light in which the feds consider the 2nd amendment. You know the one that doesn’t mean what it clearly says and is frankly too “dangerous” to uphold.

      The part here that gets me is the part about *sacred ground, respect or being sensitive*
      My mind goes back to the Black Hills in SD. Sacred grounds to Native Americans. Since our govt. took this land and told the Indians to get lost, I see the same thing happening in NYC.
      There is no respect or sensitivity about sacred ground in USA. Instead, it is who wants what and who makes the most $$ from it.
      I think about the artifacs from Indian burial grounds that after years and years, are just now being returned to the rightful people. Digging them up, didn’t seem to be sensitive nor respectful.
      American people may as well get over this mosque being done. It will be done with or without our concent. 9/11 is now something to be used for elections, not to be remembered for what really happened that day. Those politicians are, and seem to have no problems, giving America over to a foreign people.

      Beninn – You know Judge Napolitano and even Geraldo Rivera have spoken out on 9/11 right? Both of them have questioned the official story. Due to Building 7. Everyone, do a youtube search of WTC Building 7 and see if you don’t start doubting it as well. It was not hit by a plane. It was hit by hardly any falling debris (MUCH less than other buildings, who did not collapse), and it collapsed at free fall speed into its OWN FOOTPRINT. That’s the smoking gun. Science does not back up the official story. BBC reported it collapsing while you could SEE IT IN THE BACKGROUND. They reported it twenty minutes early. You can youtube that as well. But that is just barelyyyy scratching the surface of the events that day.

We can’t stop the project by bringing our government to bear on it, but we can oppose it on the more basic level of a discourse between men.       @Getalong – Trust me, I used to think “those people” were just crazy and/or Bush-bashers and/or anti-Americans. Until this last summer when I finally actually researched it. And I still research it. It’s not something I like to think about either. But you must look at the facts. Look up the videos I suggested. Building 7 is the smoking gun, but additionally:
      – It was the first time in history a steel-framed building collapsed due to fire. First three times, all in one day. The WTC even had a larger fire that burned longer in the 70s, yet no collapse. Especially not a free fall.
      – It was the first time in history a blackbox from a plane was not found. First four times, all in one day. We were identifying people using small pieces of bones in the rubble, yet we couldn’t manage to find the blackboxes.
      – It was the first time in history our military wasn’t guarding the skies – they were taking part in a military exercise. In May of 2011, the authorization for shooting down hijacked planes changed from the military to the SECDEF or higher.
      – The owner of the WTC complex took out an insurance policy several weeks before the attacks for “terrorism” and a seperate policy for “two attacks.”
      – The day before the attacks, SECDEF announced $2.3 trillion had gone unaccounted for. The next day, the area of the Pentagon where records relating to that was destroyed. That section was under construction at the time.

      There’s much, much more. Sadly.

      Just please don’t dismiss all this as crazy-talk. Keep an open mind and look into it, this is important!

      Silver : That it! Elevator Shafts. So the Building Engineer doesn’t stop by to see whats up with all the smoke from cutting the buildings massive steel columns. It is easy to ask questions but the road gets rougher when one slip, one curious person, one person with information to trade and its over.       Mayor Bloomberg sent over his “best friend” to speak with Marc and try to get inflammatory statements from the artist. Bloomberg’s friend explained that when the Mayor was a child, his family was excluded from living in a “restricted community” in Boston, because they were Jewish….so the mayor supports the Ground Zero mosque because he doesn’t want to “discriminate” against other religions like he was. Yes, the mayor is that stupid and craven.

      BTW, Thousands saw and photographed the painting. There were tears and healing all around. “Atrocity 911” united people of all colors and religions. (Thats what Great Art does). NYPD silently protected us. The media interview the artist for 3 hours, yet you saw nothing on TV or in print.

      Paper, I can’t help the willfully ignorant. I told you all the firsts that happened that day. I told you even the Judge Andrew Napolitano AND Geraldo Rivera have come out PUBLICLY to question the official story. 9/11 victims’ families have as well.

      I’ve given you videos to show you the events surrounding that day. Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth is exactly what it sounds like. There are no accusations made in that documentary. Strictly the science behind the events of that day.

      Just do a QUICK youtube search of WTC Building 7 and watch a video of it collapsing. It will take less than a minute of your life. If people are unwilling to do that, we are truly worse off than I feared. I constantly pray people will open their minds and wake up like I did just this past summer. Merry Christmas.

      Don’t forget the Pentagon did you see ANY plane wreckage? NO.. nothing .. look at any few pictures you can find…not even a tail section. Just a big hole like a bomb or rocket.. not a jet full of people and luggage, freight. etc.

      Alright I’ll try to form a question out of that…okay. The Manhattan project was kept secret for years and employed well over 100,000 people. This would require farrr fewer people.

      Governments throughout history have used false flag attacks to rally support for something or other. Hitler did it. Blamed it on the “communists” to rally support for him.

      U.S. false flags:
      - Gulf of Tonkin – ADMITTEDLY never happened. Used for Vietnam.
      - U.S.S. Maine – 1898. The Maine exploded and the government-media complex blamed it on Spain. We went to war. Then…oops! It wasn’t Spain.

      I’m just curious…why do you find it so easy to believe a billionaire is manipulating a gradual decline of the dollar and controlling the most powerful in government…but this is so hard to believe? Why is it so hard to believe that it could happen in America? When it happens all over the world all throughout history. In twenty years (if we make it that long), people will look at 9/11 with as many questions as they look at JFK’s assassination now. He was probably assassinated because he tried to reign in the Fed, but that’s just a hypothesis.

      Alrighty, sit in denial, while I know you haven’t watched all of one or all of both of those videos. Because if you did, there would be very little doubt left. I still doubt it sometimes just because it’s unbelievable. You can’t see building 7 collapse like that and not question the official story.
