Engaged Couple Sees Jesus On Walmart Receipt

Engaged Couple Sees Jesus On Walmart Receipt

Weird things can happen at Walmart, but one South Carolina couple says the weird and even supernatural occurred when they got home from Wal-Mart, on their receipt. Can you see it?

WYFF:

Jacob Simmons and his fiancee, Gentry Lee Sutherland, said they bought some pictures from Walmart on Sunday, June 12.

The following Wednesday, the couple had just come home from a church service when Simmons spotted the receipt on the floor of Sutherland’s apartment. He says the receipt had changed.

‘I was leaving the kitchen and I just looked on the floor, and it was like it was looking at me,’ Simmons said.

A dark gray mark on the receipt seems to show two eyes, a nose and a mouth in a thickly bearded face.

‘Then the more you look at it, the more it looked like Jesus, and it was just shocking, breathtaking,’ Simmons said.

The couple said the image seemed to answer a question they had just been asked at church

‘We had a message on knowing God, abiding in him,’ Sutherland said. ‘(The preacher asked) ‘If you know God, would you recognize him if you saw him?’”

Since there was no photography at the time of Christ, and no contemporary paintings of him, and no descriptions of Christ’s physical appearance in the Bible, why does anyone think they know what he looks like? How could anything look like Christ when we zero knowledge of what He looked like?

Oh but there is a description of Jesus in the Bible but people don‘t want to believe because it doesn’t show Jesus as a pretty boy. (Isaiah 53: He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.) Logic should tell people that God wouldn‘t send a pretty boy to do a man’s job. God wants people to look past the outer appearance of a man.

Talk about stupidity… Have they seen Jesus before? Do they know how tall he was? how much he weighed? etc. These kind of people make a mockery out of God’s Word. Maybe if they would spend a little more time reading their Bible instead of looking for something in all the wrong places maybe they would Jesus but not on a receipt, or on a tree, or in a rock, or can of beer. How sad that they take the Son of God and blaspheme Him by degrading Him to a WalMart receipt. Shame on them.

Matthew 12:39 : But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
    KJV

Matthew 16:4 : A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
    KJV

Even someone of low IQ should be able to tell two things from these scriptures.

1 – Only an evil, wicked, and adulterous generation looks for these signs.

2 – If you find them they did not come from the one true God. After all Jesus in His own words told us He will not send them.

So just exactly who do people looking for these signs think they are really dealing with?

It’s my understanding Jesus was talking to the unbelieving, evil Jewish leaders and Pharisees who were just baiting him & He knew it. He wasn’t going to do any “signs” for them – except His resurrection (Jonah, etc.) He does many miracles, signs elsewhere for others…and He still does (my family and I have experienced a few – one was my broken foot that was instantaneously healed).

      Odd exegesis Dr.
Seems contradicted by: Hebrews 2:4 KJV
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Reading in context (please, please, PLEASE be careful about context when dealing with Scripture…A little laziness can take you a long way down a doctrinal path you’ll regret later), it seems the presence or absence of signs is not the problem the Lord was addressing, but rather the SEEKING after them, and the refusal to believe UNLESS signs are present.
Now I don’t know about THIS particular sign, but it DOES seem like these people were already believers, no?

Gatherings of this sort were to share the word of God. We who are Christian still do the same today. Call it charity. Call it family but it certainly was not a political movement. It was a God movement.

Then Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar‘s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.

What is in your heart eventually spills out of your mouth and onto the net. The Bible has a lot of truths in it…whether you are a believer or not…it has some really decent passages of how to live with others, how to get along without big government.

I have enough food stored to share with my neighbors now…I think it’s a way to survive the mess we might be headed into…and sharing food and whatnot isn’t bad and I am certainly not a socialist, nor am I god like, but I do learn from the best.

An investigation that found extremely high levels of bisphenol A (BPA) on paper used for sales register receipts has revealed a hidden danger for consumers, but sales cashiers are at even greater risk of exposure.

BPA is an industrial chemical used to make a hard, clear plastic known as polycarbonate used in a vast array of consumer products including water bottles and baby bottles. The food industry uses an epoxy resin containing BPA as a liner inside metal canned food cans. Paper manufacturers also use BPA as a coating on thermal paper, such as paper used for sales register receipts.

Researchers now believe that BPA interferes with the endocrine and reproductive systems, and causes cancer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is supporting reasonable steps to reduce human exposure to BPA while the agency reviews studies on its health effects.

In the dihydrogen monoxide hoax, water is called by an unfamiliar name, “dihydrogen monoxide”, followed by a listing of real negative effects of this chemical, in a mock attempt to convince people that it should be carefully regulated, labeled as hazardous, or banned. The hoax is designed to illustrate how the lack of scientific literacy and an exaggerated analysis can lead to misplaced fears.[1] “Dihydrogen monoxide”, shortened to “DHMO”, is a name for water that is consistent with basic rules of chemical nomenclature,[2] but is not among the names published by IUPAC[3] and is almost never used.

A popular version of the hoax was created by Eric Lechner, Lars Norpchen and Matthew Kaufman, housemates while attending University of California, Santa Cruz in 1990,[4] revised by Craig Jackson (also a UC Santa Cruz student) in 1994,[5] and brought to widespread public attention in 1997 when Nathan Zohner, a 14-year-old student, gathered petitions to ban “DHMO” as the basis of his science project, titled “How Gullible Are We?”.[6]

The lethal dose for a 70 kg (154 lb) human is estimated at 5–10 g.[6] Sodium fluoride is classed as toxic by both inhalation (of dusts or aerosols) and ingestion.[12] In high enough doses, it has been shown to affect the heart and circulatory system.

In the higher doses used to treat osteoporosis, plain sodium fluoride can cause pain in the legs and incomplete stress fractures when the doses are too high; it also irritates the stomach, sometimes so severely as to cause ulcers. Slow-release and enteric-coated versions of sodium fluoride do not have gastric side effects in any significant way, and have milder and less frequent complications in the bones.[13] In the lower doses used for water fluoridation, the only clear adverse effect is dental fluorosis, which can alter the appearance of children’s teeth during tooth development; this is mostly mild and is unlikely to represent any real effect on aesthetic appearance or on public health.[14]

I surely hope he visits me on something other than a WalMart receipt … I don’t shop there – but would love to know he visits my little stores here in Vernon, Washington County, FL … at my website FloridaHorseRanchForSale dot com

Why does Jesus just show His face on the receipt? Why can’t He do something useful and equally faith-strengthening, like knock a few bucks off the total?
