Love a professional athlete who isn’t afraid to show humility and faith rather than abusiveness toward women, dog fighting, guns, drugs, fist fights, and a foul mouth. Here’s a real man, and finally a good example. May we please have more….

There are plenty of players that acknowledge God after big plays or big wins. They just don’t have 15 cameras shoved in their faces every time they do it. The sports media has made a bigger deal of his faith in a failed attempt to diminish him.

Dear SILLYFRESHNESS : “A bit over the top” of what exactly?

I think your comment shows that you (and the sports show idiots who continue to mock God and Tebow publicly) are applying political correctness to those of us who have a 24/7 relationship with our Father. You know — it’s none of your business, sir/ma’am ! Well, maybe not now. But when your Creator finally decides to send Jesus and His Holy Angels back to earth, it will become your business as EVERY knee will bow, then. And there won’t be any snickering, blaspheming, and persecuting as is rampantly on the rise in this used-to-be-Republic. As for me and Tebow and all others of our ilk, we will pray that you and others of YOUR ilk might “see the light” before it is too late.

      Lord, come quickly.

I always prayed over my meals and so do my 3 sons. None of us have ever been hungry or lacked the necessities of life. God stopped his son from doing miracles at the end of the old Testiment. Maybe he has decided to use Tebow as an instrument. God doesn’t listen to all prayers. If you haven‘t asked for forgiveness for you sins he won’t hear them. A sinner or a Queer won’t be heard. God puts homos with murders – but will forgive all if the prayer is sincere.

Sara 72, I’m with you. Kids hear the sports heroes using profanity, hear about them beating girlfriends and wives, having a number of children with a number of girlfriends, drinking, doing drugs – those things are not mocked or held up as a detriment to the sport. But dare to quietly pray for a few seconds? Then you are a showboater, up for criticism, mocking, and worse. I talked to my Sunday relgion class about Tebow yesterday and pointed out he is experiencing modern religious prosecution via TV, radio, internet, and that he is accepting it without complaint. He has condemned no one and has not said one hateful word. I told them he was a sports figure who was a real hero.

When one accomplishes great things, it is nice to see them pay respect to a power that graced them with the ability to overcome adversity (even ones from those slinging stones for his humble expression). I wish more politicians did this and really meant it when they payed.

We need to be extremely humble in the presence of God and be thankful. Tebow is simply giving respect where respect is due. In essence, he is happy for what was accomplished, but he is showing great humility and humbleness when he says thank you God for giving me the chance and being with me on this field.

It does not lessen his ability, that of his team mates or the opponents. It is simply a great man (not football player) saying, despite what I have accomplished I am not compared the awesomeness of he who made all this possible.

An to those liberals and naysayers who want to poke fun at my statement, realize this… If it had not been for the creator whether you believe in 500 year creation or the force that pushed the cosmos in action as to create the universe and all we see and have yet to see; then Tebow would not have had the ability, nor his team mates, nor his opponents to play such a wonderful game of sports.

Agreed, but actually the liberals are the Mensheviks (minority) party rather than
Bolsheviks (majority) party. Lenin, like his ancsestor Obama, named the communists
the Bolsheviks to give the idea that they were the majority party when actually, they were
actually a small minority. Obama does the same thing by labeling conservatives as a tiny

II Cor 11:13- “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”

Teebow knows himself and is comfortable with his religious beliefs. That brings a certain peace, that can only be good for the person. He is tanking God. Most intelligent Athletes realize that their career can end with one injury. It not something to dwell on but at the professional level they have all seen some great athletes around them loose their edge with one tear, break, or pull. At the top level that is it you just can not compete any more. All the criticism only helps him stay grounded. I still see baseball player blessing themselves before they hit, no big thing.
O yea why do we like sports? Because of the games like this and other surprises. Though not the same level as below it is part of the thrill.

The so-called “Tebow”, i.e. dropping to one’s knee in pseudohumility, is bunk. True humility causes one to drop to both knees, or even to their face, in awe/fear. The “Tebow” is a way for it‘s namesake to act like he’s humble, yet remain “cool” in the act. Like, it totally just wouldn’t be “cool” to drop to both knees and praise/thank/beg God for anything, ya know?

      Haters gonna hate!
Maybe Tebow has a little bit more of Jesus’s attention, maybe not. I personally don’t care. I live in Denver and I am a Broncos fan. But all of you self loathing nit wits need to get over yourselves. Yeah, Tebow prays a lot and talks about God a lot. Why does that have any negative bearing on your life? Grow up and admit that you can’t deal with the fact that a kid can grow up as a conservative christian who is vocal about religion and being pro-life, and still be a phenomenal success. I am sorry for you that Charlie Sheen is no longer touring.

Not judging you, but if you were a Christian and a follower of Christ you would know that the Lord blesses Christians in their occupations daily. You’re point, “What about the other Christians on the Steelers side…” is typical of a worldy view. God uses Christians in His own way…some are blessed with wealth, talents, and most of all spiritual gifts. Whether Tim wins anymore games is irrelevent, the purpose of his success is Christ centered and humility. Folks can’t accept that a man, let alone a football player would give glory to their Creator instead of their arrogant selves. The GREAT thing is the Lord is using Tim’s faith to reach the lost! In their attempt to minimize and mock him the Lord ‘s message is being revealed on ESPN, TV Networks, Newspapers, Internet! Awseome how the Lord can use one average player to shine the light to the world. Just as he choose simple fisherman vs. the High Priest of his age, Christ knew that his glory would be justified and revealed through the weak! I LOVE IT!

This has nothing to do with winning or losing. That is where people miss the point. Tebow doesn’t need to explain himself. It’s obvious he only is concerned about his connection to God. If there are Christians on the Steelers, they have a choice to do whatever they wish. Does everybody have to do the same thing? Regardless of what progressives think, there is no such thing as collective salvation. You come into this world alone and you will leave alone. One human – one soul. That’s all a person needs to deal with.

If you will read the comments. NO Christian has ever said that God helps a certain team win. This is the problem, people come to their own conclusions without actually knowing what the people they criticize say.

Look at the lies the liberals came out with when Rush Limbaugh wanted to be an owner of a pro football team. Then they admitted it was a lie and justified repeating it because they said, Well we know he really thinks this.

SO do your research. CHristians do not say God helps win football games. But God can help players do their best, win or lose.

@GOT2BRONI: What about the Christians on the other team ? That’s almost like; Why don’t we give EVERYONE a trophy ? Win or lose, Tim Tebow praises God, giving Him the glory. God may or may not be pleased with who wins ANY ball game. God can do anything and He does.

Col.3:23, states to do your work (any job) “as unto the Lord”. He’s obeying, giving his work his best effort, as unto his Lord, whether the Lord cares about football or not, win or lose, other christians on other teams or not, he’s offering his obedience to and thankful to his Lord, and couldn’t care less what man thinks of it. @ californiasodbuster: Allegiance to the Kingdom of God, comes even before allegiance to country, and maybe he trusts his Lord to see to this country, and stands for it the same as you or I.

So, let me get this straight. God could take the time to help Tim Tebow win an inconsequential football game AND make sure he had enough yardage to hearken to John 3:16, but he couldn’t be bothered with keeping my mother from passing away at age 40 or saving dying children. Priorities?

God’s plan is for all to be saved, not on a physical plane, but a spiritual plane. The fact that God shows his hand in small things makes perfect sense if you think about it. How many people have been saved because of Tim Tebow’s devotion to Christ? How many more were mocking him, maybe now rethinking that stupidity? How many have hardened theri hearts to God becuse they think that God should intervene in the starvation of Africa or allowing their mother to live longer? You have hardened your heart so badly you made the name DEVILISH and aligned yourself with Satan…Maybe you should rethink that before you die? God is calling you in Tebow yardage…316 as in John 3:16…Look it up and live…

When I prayed before a football game it was always so that no one (on either team) would get hurt. I consider it blasphemous to think God would even care about the outcome of the game. But in this case, you have Tebow playing QB on one team, and an (WINK) ALLEGED (WINK) two-time rapist playing QB on the other. Who am I to say whether or not maybe, just MAYBE, the Big Guy might have cared this one time. :)

you think the God who knows and numbered each hair on your head, feeds the ravens and, cares for the tiniest sparrow would not use the most watched sport in America to draw attention to Himself. Why? God is a God of minutia order and understanding people; why would He ignore something that influences so many people? Not that He is fickle but that He cares about you. think of all the things you care about because someone you love thinks they are important? In short there is no part of your life God wants to be kicked out of.
